Caesar and the twins arrived at the Blacksmith, its owner welcomes them warmly and said, "Good morning! Oh? Caesar, what can I do for you today?"
Caesar answered, "Well you see, I have guests today and they're here to pick their own weapons."
The Blacksmith introduced himself, "I see, I see. Well, allow me to introduce myself, my name is Joseph and I'm the owner who's running this store."
Mason replied, "It's nice to meet you sir Joseph" And introduced himself and Madison, "I'm Mason and this is Madison. Um, so where can we buy weapons?"
"Oh, right? Come, come, come, I'll take you to my store's inventory." As Joseph leads them to the armory.
While walking to the armory, Joseph asked the twins, "How did you twins meet Caesar?"
Mason answered, "Well, it all started since the other day when my sister and I were walking on the way to this village.
Madison and I were just kids who're wandering outside the village and suddenly, there's someone who saw us and that is where we met Caesar and helped us."
Joseph replied, "I see, no wonder you get along with him. To be honest he used to wander outside of this village too when he was a kid, and then one day a stranger took him and brought him to the Governor's mansion to work as a butler. Knowing that his family was killed by witches, he was trained in the training grounds that specializes in witch hunting for 4 years and now, his first witch hunt was the Urban Legend in the Village of Dakhota, the Witch of the Dark Forest. He fought against the witch with nothing but his cutlass sword. Noticing the difference in power, Caesar knew the witch's weakness, and that only is fire."
"Why fire?", Mason asked.
Joseph replied, "Because this witch lives in a forest surely when you burn its home, she will lose the source of its strength." As he continued, "So. he lighted his sword and went straight face-to-face with the witch. After the decisive battle, Caesar continued his witch hunting for almost 6 years and now since he is old enough, he retired and works in the mansion of the governor as a butler. 'If you want to become stronger, you need to synchronize with your weapon if your goal is to be the winner.' That's what he said. Man, life sure is slowly fading away. Oh? We're here"
Joseph and the twins finally have arrived at the armory's door and before they enter, Joseph reminded them that once they try to pick a weapon their combat status will either increase or decrease.
So, the twins carefully thought about it as they entered the inventory to choose their weapons. While picking, Madison noticed a locked cabinet, it caught her attention and got curious about what's inside, so she asked Joseph about it
Joseph replied and explained, "That cabinet was sealed about 50 years ago, and to wield it, you must first have the talent and will to tame it for the rest of your life.
Not to mention its previous owner was the well famed witch hunter who kills 30 witches in a year, sometimes she subdued the others and brought it to the capital to be either beheaded or burn it at the stake."
Madison replied "I-is that so? But I want to give it a try..."
Joseph laughs and said, "Ha! I think you're too young to wield this kind of weapon, even I haven't done it."
"Still it's a worth of try." Madison said.
Joseph replied, "Even if you try, no person today can wield a ranged weapon that's capable of shooting at the range of 1 kilometer."
"Ranged you say? Using ranged weapon was one of my skills. Since I was a kid, I used to use my father's gun to hunt with him in the forest, so 500 meters is just a mere fluke to me." Madison said.
Joseph replied, "W-well let's see if that is true."
Mason suddenly interrupted and said, "Hey, Joseph I'll pick this one."
"Oh? That one? The Excalibur Sword that beheaded the Witches of the South. You're really are twins" Joseph explains and said, "Well, now that you had your choice, let us go to my training grounds."
Joseph and the twins went to the training grounds to test Madison if she really is compatible to the Anti-Witch Rifle that was used by its previous owner 50 years ago.
On the training grounds, Joseph prepared a vacant ground and casted magic on it and the stage transformed into an abandoned forest, before they start, Mason asked Joseph that he wants to join in too.
Joseph immediately refused, but Mason insisted because he had two reasons and that is to try the weapon he chose, and he want to experience the battle by syncing in with his sister. So, he had no choice, but to accept it and gave Mason a warning, "The weapon you choose has the right to choose their own partners, if you're properly synced together, it will submit to you willfully."
"I see, thanks for the warning then." Mason replied and so, the twins teamed up and start over with it.
On the first stage, the place transformed and became a dark forest that was supposed to be fit for Madison, but because of Mason's persuading attitude, the stage adjusted itself in order to fit the twins. The witches began to spawn one by one, along with some various beasts and before the battle began, the witches casted their summoning magic and summons variety of animals such as lion.
Madison asked Mason, "Brother, I'm sure you know that I'm not good at close quarter because I don't have the strength for it unlike you, your strength is the trump card you have. I had trained myself in ranged combat not because that I have the strength but because I have the will to wield it. So please, if possible, buy me some time and try to keep them in one place."
"Okay, I'm counting on you to back me up." Mason replied.
The battle started. Madison jumped off and positioned herself in the spot where she can fire in any direction while Mason will be the frontline and attacks the summoned beast, he suddenly smiled and said, "I'm used to this... Synchronize my weapon and myself, huh?"
He closed his eyes and he cleared his mind for a while Madison noticed it and started shooting the beasts to cover Mason until he reached the limit.
She also noticed that the rifle is a single shot but the bullets per magazine are 12, so she didn't waste a single bullet, and plans to shoot every beast that approaches Mason, but unfortunately, Mason has a plan.
