Just as Mason easily cuts the orc's hammer by it in half, the crowd suddenly began to recognize the twins in fear because of such strength they have.
The orc finally realized that he can't continue anymore and calmly said, "I give up, it is my loss. I am sorry for underestimating you." As he grovels down to the ground.
Mason suddenly shouted and boast, "Is that all you can give?! Is that all?!" As he then, faced to the orc bowing down on the ground and said, "You're pathetic! I thought you're strong enough to beat me. You had my high hopes broken, now get out of my sight."
Hearing what Mason said, the orc began to feel fear and started to run away. Madison on the other hand doesn't know what to do with Mason, now that the people in the village already know who they are.
Meanwhile, Cassie came back from the inn and encounters a running orc in fear from the town square, she wondered why but she doesn't care at all, so she went to the twins that were staying in the
When she entered the tavern, she saw the twins were enjoying the foods that was served to them while the other customers are too distant from them, Mason calls the maid to order for more.
Cassie curiously asked a customer, "Did something happen that involves these two?"
The customer answered, "Well, that's because the orc named, Stormwill suddenly challenged the boy to a duel, he thinks that the boy's too weak despite his physique, but the orc was wrong. He surely underestimated that boy and luckily when that boy started to attack, he only cut the orc's hammer and that's how the people feared the twins. They thought that it will be their grave mistake if they picked a fight with those twins, but they seemed so innocent to me." And asked Cassie, "By the way, do you know what their name was?"
Cassie answered, "Oh, yes. That boy's name is Mason and the girl is Madison."
"Madison and Mason, huh? It's a nice name." The customer said and smiled.
Cassie replied, "Well, I hope that they shouldn't picked a fight with the Blood Knights."
"Blood Knights, you say?" The customer wondered and said, "They say that the Blood Knights was an organization that mostly hunts witches for fun, they were even responsible for hunting all the witches in the mountain near the northern border. Also, I heard rumors that they were responsible for burning a village near Dakhota because they thought that the villagers there were pure blooded witches."
Cassie replied, "I see..."
The customer also asked, "Well, those were only rumors, but if those rumors were true, what would you do?"
Cassie answered, "Who knows... I don't know either what to do. Only God knows what to do."
And so, Cassie went to the twins to say that the owner agreed to let the twins to stay for as long as they wanted. The twins nodded and immediately finished the meal in the table. They went to the cook and give him 6 silver coins and the cook was surprised as the twins were leaving and wondered why they gave such money.
The twins on the other hand, were walking with Cassie towards the inn they'll be staying. While walking, Cassie noticed that everyone was staring at those two in fear, too distant from them, she thought that because of the duel that happened yesterday was the reason.
Cassie sighs as she and the twins arrived at the inn, Madison was still amazed because of the inn's outer appearance. As they enter the inn, Madison was surprised that the orc that Mason defeated was seating on the office as the inn's master.
As when Mason saw the orc again, he didn't make a face that shows intentions of killing, but instead he smiled to the orc as if nothing were happened. The orc, on the other hand who was so scared of him started to wonder why Mason suddenly smiled at him.
Cassie went to the office to get the keys to the room while Madison and Mason went upstairs to their room. When Cassie fetched the keys, Mason saw that Cassie was holding two keys, he knew that those keys were for him and his sister, but where will Cassie sleep.
Cassie immediately saw Mason's face looking at the key and asked, "What are you looking at?"
Mason replied, "Oh nothing, nothing... Just looking at the keys."
Cassie asked, "What about it, Mason?"
Mason answered, "I was wondering that you're holding two keys and I know that those keys to the room were meant for me and my sister." And asked, "But where will you sleep Cassie?"
Cassie answered, "Huh? Well, that's because I will be in the same room with Madison since we're both girls."
Mason replied with a disappointed face, "I see...."
Madison realized him and frankly said, "Oh, you were hoping that Cassie would've be in the same room with you, aren't you?"
Mason suddenly blushed and replied, "Huh!? No, no, it's not like that..."
Madison laughs at Mason and said, "I can see it to your face, you can't lie to me Mr. Pervert. I know you can't!"
Mason replied, "And who are you calling a pervert, Old Lady? Perhaps you should stop teasing me for now."
Madison asked, "Why should I?" And said, "I can't stop teasing you, now that you're already imagining Cassie, taking a bath to your room." As Mason's nose suddenly started bleeding and became speechless when he imagined that.
Madison noticed and said, "You see? Well, I hate to admit it bro, but I'd like to see that."
Mason suddenly came back to his senses and shouted, "I ALREADY TOLD YOU, STOP TEASING ME!"
Late Night — as they rest in their own rooms.
Mason was resting in his bed and suddenly someone knocked at the door and said, "Mason it's me, Cassie. Can I come in?"
Mason answered, "Oh, Yes, yes. Come in."
As Cassie opened the door and said, "Mason, there's something I've wanted to ask. I hope you don't mind."
Mason replied, "Oh, sure. I don't mind, come and sit." As Cassie entered the room and seats on the couch, Mason asked, "So what is it that you wanted to ask?"
Cassie replied, "There's something I wanted to tell you."
Mason said, "Well, let's hear it then."
Cassie replied, "There were rumors spreading that two people with the same faces, but different gender were the ones who killed the witches who're living in the mountains of the South and that was 3 years ago.
So, with your skills and strength, there's no doubt that you're the twins in the rumors and it is obvious that Madison is a girl and you are a boy. There's no mistake that you're the ones who made that incident." And asked, "Is that true Mason? It was you guys, right?"
Mason smiled and answered, "No..."
Cassie replied, "I see..." And asked, "Can you explain it to me what happened at that time?"
Mason explained the whole story, "Madison and I started 5 years ago, that was when we were 15. Our training started when our mentor, Caesar covered it up all for us. He trained us according to the skills and weapons that we were compatible with, until the third year of our training, some adventurers came to the mansion to seek some help from the governor to send Caesar to aid the others on a witch hunt. Just as Caesar were informed of this, he saw this as an opportunity to enhance ourselves even more. Instead of Caesar himself, he sends us to aid the adventurers on their witch hunt. At first, I was afraid because it was the first time that we've been in an actual witch hunt and if I remember correctly, the adventurers were only assigned to capture the Southern Mountain Witches to attain some information about the traces of dark magic. But unfortunately, we got ambushed, one by one, the adventurers fell and lay dead without giving a fight, until the two of us were the only ones left. We immediately drew our weapons and steeled ourselves, but the witch that attacked us were way out of our league, the gap between us and the witch is too much to cope. We put down our weapons and surrendered ourselves and accepted our fate. The witch called her other sisters, that which to be appeared good witches, because they don't have any signs of rotten flesh and they appeared to be clean.
One of their sisters, took my sword, Excalibur and my sister's rifle, the Anti-Witch Rifle and chanted their magic in it. As they returned our weapons, my Excalibur became light as a feather, but too sharp for a broad sword while my sister's rifle was changed in every way, her bullets became larger and a bit heavier than the old ones, her firing range even exceeds her own and can reach up from 2 – 5 kilometers, which makes her invincible to ranged attacks. The witch also gave us this pocket watch..."
As he shows the pocket watch and continues, "Engraved with symbols that we have never seen before, the witch told us that we should us the watch if an opportune moment arises, so we hid the watch and in exchange we called off the hunt and forget that all of this has happened.
Before we leave, their youngest sister suddenly approached me and kissed me out of the blue and told me that the kiss is for future purposes. At first, I was surprised and wondered why but as soon as the sun was about to set, the witch commanded her sisters to transport us back to the village, but suddenly, an unfortunate event was occurred. There was something that suddenly attacked us, and I am sure that it was gunning for me and Madison.
We were not sure what was it, but it seems that the witches knew all along and kept it in secret. Just as about the youngest sister who kissed me was about to transport us back, she was suddenly stabbed by a large tree branch, I was shocked and was about to save her, but she told to not go out of the magic circle that she made earlier. She also told us that the circle will protect us and in order to get us back safely, she advised us to not to go out, no matter what happens.
But as we wait for the circle to glow, the whole place turned into a massacre, the witches tried to fend it off, but it is useless, even with their magic.
One of their sisters said to us, 'Come back here when the time for you has come. We will be waiting for you...' As her head was suddenly cut off and as the massacre precedes, the killer suddenly showed up in front of us, its glance were staring at us, grinning at us, its lips and nose were shrunken, it has long arms and about 8 feet tall, and was about to pounce at us, but the magic circle suddenly spewed fire around us, protecting us against those things. As the fire began to subside, the bodies of the witches were gone, only their blood remains in the field.
Both Madison and I had no idea what was going on, but we were sure that there is something more sinister than the evil witches. And it is something that the witches feared, that is why we need to become stronger than we are now or else, we will be facing an enemy that we do not even know." As he clutches his fist tightly, but Cassie holds his hand.
Cassie replied, "It's okay... I know you're telling the truth, I'm sorry that I doubted you... You see, those witches that you met, they were my blood-related sisters..."
Mason was surprised and started shedding tears, and said, "I'm sorry... I couldn't do anything to save them... I'm really sorry..."
Cassie hugs him tightly and comforts her, and replied, "That's okay, Mason... It's not your fault, not your fault..."
