She was spectacular, dancing right in front of my eyes without a care for all the eyes glued to her. Goddess she knew how to move. There definitely is something about her, I can't explain it yet but I'm certain that she is special.
The boys and I decided to come a little later than most courtesy of Justin being the lady he is, we ended up having no choice but to deal with his tantrums first.
"Hello to the world X, we're down here", Justin said. I had totally gotten carried away watching Asha dance. "Yeah I can hear you J", I said running my hand through my hair.
"We were talking about how cool it would be to just scare Nat right now and fuck with a little human minds" he replied a little too excited for my liking. So instead of answering him I turned to Keith who immediately gave me a no with his head. Literally telling me what I already knew which is, Justin is an idiot.
"You will do no such thing", I said making an emphasis on my words with my eyes. "And lay off of Nat would you. I mean you've frustrated her enough already don't you think?"
"Wow way to go X, you just killed all my excitement. You guys seriously suck", he replied even as he walked off to look for his eye candy for the night. Keith signaled me that he was gonna be around and Jesse, well he went missing the moment we stepped into the house. Canaan on the other hand was the scene watcher, always tryna survey the surroundings. He was the smartest of our little group.
I stood by the kitchen counter watching Asha and Natalie a while longer before I decided to go say hi. At least I could use Nat as an excuse. I walked the last few steps to the both of them and there I say she was beyond breathtaking.
"Hey Nat", I said with my hand on her waist as I turned her and she hugged me right away, whispering in my ear "watch her please, I think something is up with her, cos she has been a little jittery all night".
She stepped out of the hug and smiled at Asha as she excused herself, giving me a look and mouthing "Canaan". I nod and direct her with my eyes to the last place I saw him.
Being left alone with Asha was comforting but also nerve wracking. She didn't say a word, just kept looking at me with a straight face as if she was tryna figure me out. I decided to just break the mutual silence.
"So, nice party uhh?" I said loudly enough so she could hear me over the music blaring through. "I guess you can say so", she shouted right back. "Do you think maybe we can go someplace a little less noisy so we don't shout all night?", I whispered leaning closer to her ear. "No problem with that", she said with a smile.
I walked hand in hand with her through the house, already knowing my way around Zayden's house, I led her through the back to the main garden where there was a small bench beside a fountain and we could be far enough from the music but close enough if anyone comes looking for either of us.
On reaching the garden I let go of her hand and she smiled at me, then she looked up at the starlit sky and she heaved a sigh, "Wow its beautiful tonight". Then she turned to me and said "thank you for bringing me here".
I led her to the bench and we sat down with a little distance between us, I studied her as she studied her environment. The night made her glow a certain type of way and I just wished in that moment that she was mine.
We sat quietly for a while, just paying attention to our surroundings and listening to each other breathe in its beauty. I wanted to talk to her but I didn't know where to start or even what to say.
"You know you said to go someplace quiet so we wouldn't have to shout all night but we've been here a while now and you still haven't said anything", she said quietly with her eyes glued to the stars.
"Yeah you have a point", I replied running my hand through my hair. "I just didn't want to interrupt your star gazing moment". "Yeah right, or you just don't know or even have anything to say", she said with a smug look on her face.
"Now why would you think that", I asked with a smile. "Well, cos the night is so astoundingly beautiful, you lost your train of thoughts, ha ha", she laughed and I had no choice but to join her. Her laugh was soothing to my soul and it just lit up her entire being. Such a beautiful sight to behold.
"Well I guess you can say that", I said after we both quieted down. "See I knew I was right", she stated with an air of pride.
"Yeah you are, but why are you so obsessed with the stars like that", I asked her curiously. "Hmm" she said and sighed. "It's a funny reason", she replied quietly. "I just like to think that my dad is watching me from there and every time it's this starry, there's a celebration going on up there". I smiled at that, "true so true".
"You know I'm a little psychic or at the very least I like to believe I am and almost every time it's as bright as it is now, something good always comes my way next", she said assuredly. "Wow, so what do you think might be coming your way this time or you have no clue what it might be", I asked testing to see just how much she would be willing to divulge to me.
"Actually I think I do but I'll have to be patient cos I don't want to jinx it by saying it out loud you know". "I get that", I said with understanding.
As if coming to a sudden realization I whispered "and you're beautiful". I was almost certain she didn't hear me, well until she directed her gaze towards me and asked in shock "did you just say I'm beautiful?"
"Yeah I did", I said honestly staring right into her ocean blue orbs. "I think the stars actually add to your beauty and make you seem eonian. You're literally glowing right now and I wonder what you would look like bathed by the full moons glow". At that she smiled and said "well I guess I will become a goddess then or maybe a fairy", this she said breaking out into a full smile. "But thank you for the compliment Xander and you look quite dashing yourself bathed with the stars as you shine", she finished with a smirk.
"Oh come on seriously, you had to throw that right back", I said incredulously with a smile. "Yup, I wouldn't miss such a chance for anything in the world. I'm petty like that", she said with a shrug. And with that we both started laughing. It was easy to converse with her, well that is after you can get started first.
I was still laughing when I felt her still beside me, I looked at her and her smile was gone, her eyes were open but white and she looked stiff like she was battling something mentally. I scooted closer to hold her and shake her but she didn't budge. Stiff as a statue, I was starting to get worried. I mean she might be having a vision or something else you can't tell, when I don't even know what kinda creature she is.
I was so worried I mind-linked Nat and told her to come over with Canaan immediately, maybe he can figure this out as he said he had a few ideas about what might be happening. I was still holding onto Asha when all of a sudden she inhaled heavily and her pupils came back. She was shaking in my arms badly.
"Asha talk to me. What is it?", I probed immediately. She was really scaring me. "Xander you need to go home now", she said holding my hands with a vice like grip, like she was trying to break it but all that left me even more confused. "Why? Why should I go home? You're not okay. I've been shaking you for the past few minutes and you were….".
"Xander you need to go, NOW please!!!!!" She said pleading with me. I was about to ask her again the reason for her trying to get rid of me, when a voice I never want to hear said, "you should listen to her, else there might be nothing to return to".
We turned and saw Nixa at the same time, Asha pointed at her and said "you" while I struggled to contain my anger.
