Chapter 33
ALEXA ROHAN
My steps were quick and long, trying to get away from my mate.
She was following me while explaining things I don't want to understand.
It was supposed to be a peaceful night. There was not even a wind or occasional breeze outside the pack house.
The night was still, calm— so opposite of what I was feeling inside.
'yeah'
I was flaring in anger—
How could she?
How could she not tell me about her joining a mission?
Weren't I— her mate?
I thought I matter.
Was everything she said a hollow, honey-coated words?
And I damn fell for that.
'ugh'
"I am sorry, baby."
"I was wrong."
"I just don't want you to worry about me out there," Lou explained, her voice— pleading.
'huh'
"And you thought I was worried?"
'damn'
I knew, I sounded sarcastic but damn, I also knew I was an idiot for saying that.
Of course I was worried—
... and it infuriated me when a teasing smile pulled up in her lips.
"You would not be this furious if you weren't, baby."
'baby'
I was starting to get comfortable of her calling me that.
'ugh'
She flashed me a small smile but a warm one, "Though your words cuts like a silver knife but your actions says otherwise."
"I love you Alexa— beyond the mate bond."
"I'm falling deeper—"
"I'm drowning, hoping— hoping you'll be honest with yourself soon—" she paused.
"I will wait."
I swallowed hard. We shared a moment staring at each other. Then a gust of wind passed us, breaking the silence, the stillness of the night.
'beyond the mate bond'
'goddess'
'Oh my Goddess'
Was I too shallow to feel all giddy?
Was I?
My anger dissipated that moment.
My concern shifted on suppressing my racing heart caused by her flattery.
I doubt that it was even a flattery.
'ugh'
So I groaned to let out a portion of my raging, fluffy emotions.
"Tomorrow—"
"... you owe me a pizza," I turned and walked away, then heat flared up my cheek.
Just what did I say?
'my goddess'
Lou was making me dumb—
'ugh'
"D... Did you just asked me out on a date?" She yelled as I was a little far already.
I did not respond or turned around nor gave a gesture of a hand. I did not have the face to do that.
A date—
What was I thinking?
'mate pull'
Blame it on the mate pull—
'damn'
'Louchie—'
[*******************]
LOU RIVERS
"Dad, which one?"
My clothes were scattered on the bed. Though I owned only a few, it was still hard to decide which one to wear for my first date with my mate.
'ayieeee'
Yes, I got a date with her.
To be hitching a ride with her to school was already a progress but having a date with her was more of a hella leapt of development to our relationship.
It was overwhelming for me that I ended up staying late the night thinking how to properly eat a slice of pizza with her on the next day.
'hahaha'
Call me an idiot but I prefer moonstruck—
'hehehe'
"Why ask me?"
A groan escaped my mouth hearing the uninterested voice of my dad. He was not even looking at my pile of clothes but on his newly polished finger nails.
'Oopss'
'yeah'
My dad is weird.
He loves his nails to some degree, even avoiding an unnecessary shift with his wolf so as not to destroy his favorite nail polish, the colorless one.
"Shouldn't you ask your new generation friends in this matter Louchiechie?"
"Not this old geezer," he was dragging his voice.
"Dad, I have been asking you all my life and you are complaining now?"
"Just wear something that feels comfortable," he shrugged then blew with utmost care his finger nails to dry.
"Dad, you are not helping at all," I whined while tightening the edge of the towel on my chest to securely wrap myself in it.
Then a horn honked from outside; that familiar sound.
'damn'
'She's here—'
My heartbeat took a pace and Alfonso Rivers just flashed me his annoying grin.
"Coming—"
My dad evoked a snicker when I voiced out what I mindlinked my mate.
'coming'
'goddess'
I wasn't even dressed.
When time had passed and I was still not getting down, the closed door of my bedroom flew open and there emerged a furious yet— for me, the most beautiful girl in the world.
'goddess'
She was so impatient.
She loosened a bit when noticing my father on the side.
Dad stood up, stretched his back then walked himself out the door, but he stopped by the door frame.
"By the way, I want a grandson, okay?"
"A granddaughter would be a handful."
"Mercy—"
"Have mercy to this old man," he let out a dramatic cough of three, then winked at me before finally leaving.
My ears fumed, embarrassed of what he uttered. Also, I got more annoyed of the way he sounded.
'ugh'
He was such a tease— that father of mine.
'tsk'
