Chapter 17 - Ring or Blood

Chapter 17

LOU RIVERS

It has been two weeks since I was thrown out from Alexa's bedroom.

'hehehe'

Ever since then, Alexa seemed to loosen up a bit. We talked— at minimum, at least, and I call that progress.

'huhuhu'

And hitching a ride to school these past three days on her car is another leap of progress.

'la la la'

"Hey, have you changed your mind on participating in the Ring or Blood?" She asked on our way to school.

"Nope, I'm looking forward to it actually."

"I bet it would be thrilling baby," I winked and I got a rolling eyes from her.

"Yeah sure, thrilling to get beaten."

'oopps'

'sarcasm noted'

Ring or Blood— is a sport held twice a month being participated by students of pack's hierarchy from runts to a third class knights. Each group consists of four members either from the same pack or a mixed one.

This sport is being conducted to show power and strength.

The first and second class knights, among are the sons and daughters of alphas and betas, have their own sport being also held twice a month; a more extreme one though.

Moreover, Alexa has been weary since I told her about my participation in the sport, much when knowing who the members I have in mind.

"Louchiechie—"

'oh goddess'

'help'

I came to a halt by the lobby as soon as I heard my name being called that echoed along the hall.

Alexa and the others with me came to a stop too and we all turned around to see who.

'holy'

I staggered and tried to keep my balance when a girl threw herself at me and a growl of warning escaped from my mate.

"Hey, hey, hold up," Karen distanced herself and lifted up her hands just above her shoulders in surrender.

"That's just my way of greeting a friend, Rohan."

Alexa's eyes narrowed to thin slit then she met my gaze, "You know her?" she scrutinized.

"Yeah, we are friends," I confirmed.

"Hey, how did you become friends with a first knight of another pack?" Maggie inquired with doubt.

"Well, circumstantial I guess?" I shrugged.

"By the way Louchie, how are you?" Karen interrupted.

"I'm—" I was cut off by Maggie.

"Look here Karen, we have somewhere to go and you are interrupting us."

"Do your catch up session some other time."

"Okay?"

Karen huffed, "Look here Maggie, stealing a little of her time won't kill you. Will it?"

'holy'

A spark of possible war ignited.

"Karen," I called.

I sensed authority in my voice and with that— the girl broke her glaring battle with Maggie and turned to me.

"Sorry Louchiechie," she apologized after exhaling a deep breath.

"Well, I heard on my way here that you're participating in the Ring or Blood with a group of runts?"

"Hey, watch it Karen. I'm no runt," Maggie butted in.

"And I'll make sure— no one could bully my team," she boasted earning a head spank from behind.

"You little—," when she turned to look who, she immediately distanced herself.

"Don't come near me Carmen," she warned.

The girl just smirked, "You boasted when you are not even allowed to participate."

"Shall I remind you that you are a first class knight Maggie?"

There, Maggie cleared her throat, took a deep breath then fidgeted, "Well guys, you see, I—" she paused.

"I — I burned down a couple of shelters in the training camp and my title has been revoked for six months."

'oh my—'

The information made the others gasp except me and Marc; we knew.

"So the sweaty and sleepless nights I endured under that make-do tents in the camp is caused by you?" Carmen hissed.

'oops'

That made Maggie to fake a smile then hid behind me, "Endurance is discipline Carmen, discipline. Guess my clumsiness taught you that."

'damn'

I held up a hand gesturing for a stop when Carmen made a move to get back to Maggie which the girl did obeyed.

"And who's your other members?" Karen inquired after Maggie and Carmen's antics eased down.

I pointed at Leone on Marc's side.

"And the other?"

'Oh the other—'

There I smiled seeing the silhouette of a man approaching.

"Speaking of the lamb," I gestured in his direction which made everyone's head turned to him.

'oh'

'It's been a while— Carl'

'hehe'
