Chapter 15
LOU RIVERS
My sleep was interrupted in the middle of the night when suddenly, my chest grew tight and breathing became a little hard.
I sprung to sit and Adolphus made me understand what I was feeling.
Without a second thought, I jumped out of the window, landing barefoot on the ground.
I ran in my fastest speed towards the alpha's house, mind linking Alexa along but I can't get through.
~What about Reika?~, I asked Addi.
~I can't get through to her too~
'damn'
'What's going on?'
A sense of uneasiness enveloped me.
Reaching the house, I glanced up at the window of Alexa's bedroom. The Alpha and Luna mind linked me. They seemed to notice my presence in their property first than the state of Alexa in their house.
~ I got her Sire,~ I assured the Alpha then I jumped up the open window.
There my heart sunk to the floor as soon as my eyes landed on my mate.
She was sitting on the bed, curled up in a ball, trembling and sweating. Her chin rested on her knees and her eyes—
... her eyes were full of horror staring into nothingness.
In haste, my arms found their way around her, wrapping her with my warmth.
My worries got hold of my emotion, my heart pounded in fear along; a fear that I've never known before.
'Just why is she like this?'
The question swirled around my head fueling an anger.
"I'm here baby," I whispered, holding her tight.
Her trembling stopped and the forceful pounding of her heart calmed down— only right after I took some of her pain.
And it seemed that her strength left her when she went limp and doze off in my arms.
The feeling of anger started to surface from the pit of my stomach, making my hold of her tighter than it was.
And I ground my teeth as my blood boiled thinking — what caused her this?
Who dared to inflict this amount of fear in her?
'Who the fuck dared to?'
'Who?'
Then I saw my eyes flicker with the brightest of green as reflected on the mirror across me— Addi.
~None ever lived against my wrath~
~grrr~
[************]
I went to school as morning came with a purple bruise on my cheek and a cut lip.
It will heal in an hour or two but for the meantime, I just had to endure the annoying laughters coming from Maggie and Carmen. Even with Marc, I could see his lips quirked up time to time, barely suppressing his laughter that's threatening to blow out any minute from his diaphragm.
'duh'
Well, what happened to me was laughable anyway.
'ahem'
I— I went flying out of the window from Alexa's bedroom and landed on the ground like a sack of potato as she punched me hard on the face after noticing me in her bed.
'tsk'
I haven't had the time to explain myself— her fist, in a flash, already landed on my face.
'ugh'
That's what I got after she comfortably snuggled in my side the whole night.
'duh'
'poor me'
"Gosh, how I wish I had a footage of your falling out of the window Louchiechie," Maggie snickered in my right side.
"Ali's reaction should've been recorded so I have something to laugh at her face," Carmen whined in my left.
Well, as much as I mind their continuous teasing, the thought of what caused Alexa such nightmare, such fear is still the most highlighted thought running in my head.
But then, I set it aside for the time being. I plan to ask Carmen before the day ends if she knew something about it then the Luna and Alpha when I get home.
'I have to know'
'tsk'
And about these girls in my side, they made my body as a barrier of their noticeable sexual tension.
'yeah'
'I noticed'
Well, I'm just observing but— that's my opinion. Even if how much Maggie resist the advances of Carmen, sometimes, her body would betray her but often times, her mind would triumph leaving Carmen to sulk behind her cheerful facade then would try again.
"So nothing happened?" Carmen whispered then wiggled her brows.
"You just cuddled her the whole night like a saint you are?"
I coughed out a lump of air that suddenly blocked my throat hearing her remark.
"You didn't mark her?" Maggie added with hopeful eyes.
'ugh'
'This two—'
I mind linked Marc to help me get out of the hot seat in which he granted. He coughed a couple of times before facing us.
"You two— enough of that," he reprimanded which brought a relief to me but my hopes fell down realizing how he sounded.
Looking at him, he uttered the words with clenched jaw that they were almost inaudible as he tried to suppress his uncontainable smile. But his eyes sold him though, his laughs were reflected in them.
'Oh my goddess'
'Not you too Marc!'
My shoulders drooped, surrendering to their teasing.
'ugh'
'such lovable friends'
