Chapter 35
I walked into the Martial Arts club, still thinking about Darius, was he serious? Was he really going to try to find more proof? Is what he already has proof at all?
I was so far into my thoughts that I right into William's chest. He grabbed my shoulders, keeping me from falling.
He looked down at me, "You okay? You look a little out of it."
Should I tell him? Hmm, nope, he doesn't need to know, "Nope, I'm fine, it's nothing. E-everything is fine. Hahaha." Geeze, that voice crack in the middle was bad.
William looked down at me with raised eyebrows, "Adam...? You sure your okay, man?"
I nodded, "Yep, everything is fine, I need to call Avery, I'll be back in a minute."
I went outside, calling Adam, he picked up, "Hey, Avery, what's up?"
I sighed, "Someone is suspicious, he is trying to prove that I am a girl."
Adam gasped in my ear, "What? Really? Who? Avery, tell me who."
I told him, "Darius Walter. He stopped me while I was walking to the club. He told me he was going to try to get proof to prove that I am a girl. Oh, he said, that if I proved to him that I am a guy, he would leave me alone."
Adam sighed, "How do we do that? It's not like you are a boy, you are a girl."
I thought about it for a second, "We could just switch schools for a day or two. Then you could just walk up to Darius and lift your shirt or something to show him you are a guy."
Adam said, "No, no, just no, I'm not lifting my shirt in front of anyone, besides, you don't know how to act with my friends and I don't know how to act like you. Our personalities are nowhere near the same."
I sighed, "Well, do you have a better idea? I don't know what else to do."
Adam was silent for a second, "Fine, ugh, I'll switch schools with you for a day. When you get home, I'm teaching you how to act like me."
I shook my head, "Yeah, okay. See you later, Adam, I need to go back to the club, bye."
Adam muttered, "Bye." Then he hung up.
I shook my head, ugh, why did I have to be so bad at acting? I walked back into the club room, sighing.
Alex walked over to me, "Hey Adam, want to practice?" Then he looked closer at my face, "You okay, Adam? You look a little stressed, or do you look worried?"
I sighed, "I'm fine, I just have a lot of homework, it's no big deal."
Alex raised an eyebrow, "Are you sure? You know you can tell me anything, right?"
I nodded, "Yep, I know I can, it's nothing, I promise. Now, let's practice."
We practiced until the club ended, I said goodbye to everyone and walked outside, getting into the car I smiled, "Hi Thomas, how has your day been?"
Thomas smiled, "Hello, Miss. My day has been alright. Yours?"
I shrugged, "It could be better, but I've had worse."
Thomas nodded, then he began driving.
When we got to the apartment I waved to Thomas and went to the apartment. I opened the door and slipped off my shoes, Adam was in front of me, "How much homework do you have?"
I counted up the minutes inside my head, "About, maybe 2 hours or so?"
Adam sighed, "Try to hurry up, please. I want to get this show on the road."
I nodded, "Alright, I'll be done as fast as I can." walked into my room and took out my homework, I got started on the hardest fist, Algebra (inserts crying emoji here).
By the time I was done with all my homework, Adam was very impatient. He kept on coming by my door, asking, Are you done yet? every 10 minutes.
When I told him I was done, he dragged me out of my room, muttering about how it took me long enough to finish.
I rolled my eyes, sighing as Adam dragged me into his room. He sat me down on the chair as he sat on the bed, he looked me in the eye, "Okay, the first lesson of acting like me is, for Pete's sake stop asking for food all the time."
And thus, began my lessons on how to act like Adam Darkwaters, the real Adam Darkwaters, anyway.
