Chapter 41
After 4th-period language arts, I walked to the Martial Arts Club, I walked inside, "Hey, William, can we talk about the tournament now? I want to know what it is."
William nodded, he gestured for me to sit down next to him on the bench, "As I said, it is for schools to compete for places in the top 3 schools. It is also for seeing how much the clubs have improved from the last time we had it."
I nodded, "Okay, so from last year, who should we lookout for this year?"
William thought for a few seconds, "The two schools ahead of us are Houston High, they are the number 2 school. The number 1 school is Ravenwood High. They have been the number 1 school for 5 years now."
I asked, "Wow, are they really that good?"
William shrugged, "Probably."
I sighed, "How hard do you think it is going to be to beat them?"
William answered, "If we practice enough and don't slack off, then I think we might have a fairly good chance against them."
I nodded, "Okay, good. Wait, does the entier club fight or just 4 people again?"
William told me, "5 people this time."
I nodded, "Okay." I stood up, "I need to get to class now, or I'm going to be late."
William grabbed my wrist, "Wait, can I talk to you after school?"
I nodded, "Sure, see you later."
William nodded, "See ya."
During French class, I partnered up with Luke again, we were to complete a worksheet, correcting the grammar on it.
We finished it quickly, so we talked to each other and learned more about each other, Luke's favorite food is lobster bisque and he talked about his dog and family.
I talked with him about the Martial Arts club.
Time flew by and the class ended, we handed in the worksheet, I stopped Luke when he was just about to say bye, "Hey, do you want my phone number? I just realized I have never given it to you. Sorry."
He shrugged, "No problem, sure."
I took a piece of paper out of my binder and wrote it down, I handed it to him and said goodbye. He waved and said bye.
I quickly made it to the gym and walked into the locker room, I took out my PE clothes. I changed in the locker as always. PE went the same as always, Mr.Conelly took the role and we ran a warm-up lap, then we stretched and did hurdles. After that, I changed again in the bathroom.
I quickly made it to the Martial Arts club to talk to William.
I opened the door and waved at him, "Hey, William. You said you wanted to talk after school?"
He nodded, "Yes, let's go outside the club room, so we can talk in private." He got up from the bench.
And thus, William dragged me outside the club room to have a private talk.
