Chapter 39
Back to Avery:
Today was Wednesday. I got up and stretched a little, reaching back and letting out a loud groan and hearing a few creaks and cracks from my spine, pop, pop, crack, and one loud crack from my hip.
Sigh, that felt so good, I got out of bed and put on my uniform, I walked into the kitchen, grabbed some milk, cereal, and made toast.
When Adam finally walked out of his I was already almost done with the toast, "Good morning, Adam. Want some toast? I made some."
Adam nodded, "Yep, give me a few minutes, I will be finished in a few minutes."
I shrugged, "Sure, yell when your done, I'll be in my room reading."
Adam made a grunting noise, I took that as a yes. I walked to my room and grabbed my books, I read for about 10 minutes before Adam yelled, "I'm ready to leave, let's go!"
I put my bookmark in my book and got up, I walked to the door and slipped on my shoes.
Adam sighed, "Took you long enough, come on, Thomas is waiting for us."
We walked out of the building and we climbed into Thomas's car, "Hi, Thomas."
He smiled, "Hello, Miss and Sir." He began the drive to our schools.
Once I got to school, I waved goodbye to Thomas and walked into the school, as soon as I did, Alex walked up to me, "Hey, Adam. I need to talk to you, it is urgent."
I shrugged, "Sure, what is it?"
Alex asked me, "Can we go somewhere more private to talk? This is private matters."
I nodded, "Sure, if you want."
Alex dragged me to the bathroom and put a trash can against the door, "Okay, so this thing I need to talk with you about is very important."
Yeah, I gathered that when he dragged me to the bathroom and stuck a trash can against the door, "Okay, what is it? Is something wrong?"
Alex shook his head, "No, no, nothing is wrong, I just wanted to tell you something, and ask you something too."
I nodded, "Okay? What is it?"
He cleared his throat, "Adam, I leaving for a few weeks to go on tour."
I nodded, he was a celebrity or something so that was to be expected, "Okay? What about it? What did you want to ask me?"
Alex cleared his throat again, "Would you like to go with me? Like, for a few days? I mean if it isn't much of a burden, would you like to go? You don't have to if you don't want to."
Uhhh, I stared at him, "Uhh, I-" Ding ding, the bell rang. We had 6 more minutes until the first period. I needed to ask Adam before agreeing.
I looked at Alex, he had a hopeful expression on his face, I told him, "Uhh, maybe, I need to ask Avery first, she has to agree first, and I might get behind on class and homework. We'll talk about this later, probably during the break."
Alex nodded, "Yeah, okay, okay then."
I asked him, "Did this conversation really need to be in the bathroom with a trash can in front of the door though? What was the point of that?"
Alex laughed a little, "I might have overreacted a little, not a lot of people are fans of mine at this school, but it is just kinda a reflex, you know, with all the people trying to pry into your business when they have no place in it, you always have to be careful."
I nodded, "Okay, now we need to get to class or we're going to be late."
I moved the trash can out of the way and opened the door, I said, "See ya later, Alex. We'll meet back here at the break."
Alex said, "Okay, see ya later."
I hurried to my first-period class, sighing when I slid into the chair right as the bell rang.
Mark raised an eyebrow at me, he asked me quietly, "You're later than usual."
I shrugged, "I was talking with Alex, I'll tell you about it at lunch."
Mark nodded, "Okay."
Time flew by, I texted Adam the moment I got out of the second period.
Texting:
Me: Alex asked me if I wanted to go with him on his tour for a few days. Should I go?
Adam: Sure, just make sure you keep up on your classwork.
Me: Really? I can go? I thought you would say no.
Adam: Meh, as long as you keep up on school work. Hey, can you ask Alex if I can come too?
Me: Huh, okay. Yeah, I'll ask.
Adam: Great
Me: Okay, gtg, I need to go tell him you said yes. See ya later
Adam: Bye
Not texting:
I hurried to the bathroom, Alex was already there, "Hey, sorry for taking so long. I was texting Adam."
Alex smiled, "No biggie, so, what did she say? Can you come?"
I nodded, "Yep, I can, as long as I keep up with my work. Oh, she also wanted to know if she could come too."
Alex nodded, "Sure, if she wants to."
I nodded, smiling, "Okay great, I'll tell her that. The break is almost over, we need to get to class. See you at lunch. Oh and, is it okay if I tell Mark about this?"
Alex grinned, "Yep, sure."
The day went by, during lunch I explained to Mark what I was talking about with Alex, "Ohh, okay, so he is going on a tour and he wants you to go with him. Avery wants to go too, right?"
I nodded, "Yep."
After school, I texted Adam and told him Alex said he could come too if he wanted to.
Adam was very happy for some reason.
After the club was over, I got home and got greeted with Adam flinging himself at me, he pulled away, "So, can I really come?"
I nodded, "He said you could."
Adam squealed loudly, "Yippy! Yay!"
I sighed, shaking my head, I had no idea what the big deal was, it was just Alex.
We ate dinner and I took a shower and brushed my teeth after eating, I said good night to Adam and crawled into my bed. I read for a while and then I clicked off the lamp. I slowly fell asleep.
And thus, ended my day.
