"Well, you must send me updates on what is happening and give me the names of all those plotting against me. The palace is becoming restless these days. Your father will be arriving soon to know more about your disappearance. What on earth am I supposed to tell him? He'll want the kingdom flipped upside down to look for you."
Alexander raised his head getting back into character. "I will speak with my father before he reaches the palace and send him back on his way. Still, it would be better if he shows up to make my disappearance more believable. Some of your court ministers have been acting up now that they think I am gone and it is best you get rid of everyone one time."
Darius nodded in agreement with Alexander's plan. The palace was in need of being purged from everyone trying to use or kill him. With what he planned to do with the God inside of the forest, it was time for change where he would only have those truly loyal to him around. Those who didn't believe in him should be locked up until he would make them witness his new world.
"Before you hear it from anyone else, I am proposing that you and my sister get married. I know that you are not fond of Catherine or share the same feelings that she has but you should use this opportunity to rise above your rank. The more status you have the better it will be for you to get rid of those in high positions. You can't enter the meetings I attend because you are just a general but as my sister's husband I can make an exception for you."
"I do not wish to be married to the princess. I can help you with the position that I have now. Power is not something I have sought after. Please do not propose for us to get together," Alexander denied the request.
"I knew that you would say that but I have already brought it up to a few people and Catherine herself. You lose yourself in work and don't mingle with the women who show interest in you. At this rate, you'll end up all alone and won't provide any children for your father to become a grandpa. I am also hoping that being married to you will make my sister grow up," Darius was finding his sister slowly becoming a nuisance after she interrupted a good time and made herself appear childish.
'I don't care about any of this,' Alexander mentally thought. Anyone with eyes could see the king just wanted him to marry his sister so that he could keep Alexander close by. 'Does he really have affection for this man?'
"My father will have grandchildren one day but not right now. I will marry a woman that I love in the future. Please find someone who will love your sister past being a princess. If you wish for her to grow up you should involve her in more important matters concerning the people of this kingdom. She is a princess but you have not been treating her like one and only spoiling her. Give her some responsibilities."
"Are you certain? I can't see Catherine being in charge of anything and I have always taken care of everything. If she does not get married to you, she will be shipped off somewhere else to be married. She is not getting any younger and soon the offers for her hand will decrease. Please take time to consider the marriage offer since Catherine has started planning the wedding." Darius desperately needed to get Alexander to agree to the idea of marriage between him and Catherine or he would have no choice but to force them to get married.
He knew this might cause a rift in the relationship he had with Alexander but over time they could get back to how they used to be. Darius would make sure he knew where Alexander was at all times in the future.
"It is best that you do not stay here for too long, your highness. I don't want any attention drawn to my room and I must leave now. I only snuck in to find something but you have made it hard for me with what you have done with my room."
Darius looked around the room which would need a couple of maids to clean up. He wasn't paying attention to the mess he had created and now that he did, he felt stupid for causing such a scene. Never in his life had he acted like this because of anyone. Alexander was right that it would spread rumors and Darius did not want anyone to think even for a second that he was interested in a man. "I will take my leave and have someone clean this up in secret. Report back to me every day on your whereabouts and progress."
"Yes your highness," Alexander bowed and waited until Darius left to lift his head and reveal his hidden grin. He chuckled for a job well done. "Aren't you impressed by my acting princess?" He called out to a shadow in his room where he had hidden Catherine.
"Don't pride yourself on being a professional. I can see the difference between you and Alexander but my brother is so stupid. Perfect."
Chaos smirked, changing his appearance from looking like Alexander to the human form he created for himself. He enjoyed seeing the greed growing inside of Catherine.
