'Queen Catherine Mclane and her husband Alexander Mclane,' Catherine announced in her head over and over again. The more she thought about it the sweeter it sounded to her. Why hadn't she thought about getting rid of her brother and becoming queen before?
It was an interesting sight to see her brother easily believe that he had spoken to Alexander yesterday when it was Chaos playing with his mind. He was much easier to manipulate than she expected and she regretted not messing with him earlier than this.
At first, Catherine was scared to work with Chaos because of the consequences she might find herself with for working against a human. However, the results made her change her mind and she planned to be Chaos's master forever in the future. She'll control him better than her brother ever could. Why hide the god or whatever Chaos was when you could use them?
"Is my brother inside?" She asked the same two guards she was furious with the last time she came to see her brother when they would not let her inside. She'll teach the two of them a lesson when she becomes queen. "Let me inside."
"We have to check with the king first princess-"
"You know gentlemen, what goes around comes around. Although you are just doing your job, what I don't appreciate is the humor you find in what occurred here the other day. Save it," she stopped them when they were going to tell her she was wrong. "I might not be able to control an army like my brother and make everyone listen to my commands but there is one thing I have. Finding gossip and the person who spread it."
Words have reached her about her brother rejecting her from entering his bedroom and exaggerations about her acting childish. She didn't need to be told who were the ones to spread it. There were only four people present that day and she was certain her brother hadn't run his mouth about what happened.
"I will see to it one day that the two of you regret talking about me to your peers. If it is one thing I do not tolerate is disrespect. Don't think that because my brother didn't let me into the room that one word from me won't have you punished. Now, announce me and open the door," she smiled now that she got a point across.
"Yes princess," the guards straightened themselves up. Truly, neither of them believed she could do anything to them on her own even though she knew they had both spoken about her. Still, they had witnessed her run to her brother to complain about someone and the king got rid of that person for her.
"Catherine?" Darius asked, opening his doors on his own. He looked around to see if Alexander had sent him any update on what he was doing but it was just his sister at the door. "Come inside quickly," he told her. He turned around going back inside his bedroom as his sister walked in. They had not spoken since he denied her entry to his bedroom and he was expecting to get an earful of her complaining.
"Hello brother. Why is it that all the time I am looking for you, you are in your bedroom? Shouldn't you be in the courtroom or elsewhere? People might start to think you are slacking off." Catherina teased as she went straight for the chair she always sat on inside of his bedroom.
"I don't need you to be lecturing me. Hurry up and yell at me or whatever you came here for. Let's get it over with," Darius told her.
"Oh, I am not here to yell at you, brother. I have gotten over that since I went to my room and thought about it. I should have returned to my room when the guards told me you weren't seeing anyone at that point in time. I apologize," she bowed afterward.
"Who are you and what have you done with my little sister?" Darius questioned as he got a chilling feeling from this person claiming to be his sister. For all the years he knew his sister, she would never apologize to anyone so easily because of how stubborn she is. She would always rather the other person apologize to her even if she was the one in the wrong.
"What are you talking about Darius? It is me, Catherine. Should I state some of your embarrassing moments from our youth to convince you? I am to be a married woman and with this, I must change. Silly little things shouldn't make me so angry anymore and when I get married I will hardly see you. It's better we are not against each other till then."
"Is that so?" Darius replied, still suspicious of the person before him. "If you say so, I am glad to see you finally growing up. I hope it lasts with you. Is that all?"
"Speaking of my marriage, have you gotten a clue where Alexander might be? As much as I enjoy planning the wedding all by myself, I prefer to have the groom's input so there isn't anything he might dislike."
"No, I haven't seen him but I am sure he will turn up soon. Nothing will happen to that man in this lifetime. Be patient and stop the planning until he returns," Darius advised his sister.
"It sounds like-"
A knock at the door interrupted Catherine. "Your highness, there is a woman saying she has some information you must know about Alexander."
