Bang!
A gigantic boom exploded within Alex's mind without warning. His body, which was pale and cold as if it were dead, rose up with a start as Alex looked around, clearly bewildered by the terrifying pain as well as the foreign surroundings.
A sudden burst of memories flooded into his mind with the pain, shocking him as the confusing mess of thoughts and events began to slowly clear up.
He had transmigrated from Earth to the body of a seventeen year old boy named Alex in a bizarre future world! Immediately his face contorted into a weird expression as the way he transmigrated became clear to him.
This poor bloke was actually a stupid brat who got a heart attack while watching a 'special' kind of video. The category of this kind of special video need not be mentioned - this brat was a shameless otaku with a perverted personality.
He also had a weak heart and actually died in such a tragic circumstance, allowing for Alex to transmigrate into the body of this fool.
Soon, more memories flooded into his mind that made him more shocked. In this world, all kinds of bizarre dungeon like portals had opened up, which had led to a new profession to hunt the fantastical creatures within. Killing the monsters would allow people to gain all kinds of abilities, which led to a new era of martial arts.
This perverted brat's family was actually not bad. His parents were somewhat strong warriors, but this brat himself was a perfect slag. Useless, talentless and shamelessly obsessed with perverted hobbies.
Alex shook his head as he groaned and stood up from his chair and walked to the mirror. Observing his body, he realized that his new body was a real slag. His body was chubby and growing in all the wrong places - a large stomach from years of eating unhealthy junk food and doing little to no exercises. It was no wonder that his parents had given up on him and turned their attention to train his diligent younger sister as the future heir to the family.
Alex sighed as he thought about this new monster filled world and the endless possibilities within to satisfy his otaku dreams. The only thing remaining was to activate his transmigrator benefits package.
Ding!
At that moment, a voice chimed within his mind as a holographic display suddenly appeared in front of his eyes.
[Activating Transmigration Gift Box]
[....]
[Congratulations! You have been awarded with the Identification System!]
[Identification System allows you to identify living beings, items and their details in secret!]
Alex was happy but sad at the same time. That was all? Isn't an appraisal type ability common to most such gift packs? Shouldn't there be a divine skill and special heavenly physique or martial spirit? Why isn't it following the script?
[Script my ass! Do you want me to withdraw your gift package?]
Alex was stunned when he saw the message appeared in front of his eyes. What the f***? This text box has a precocious attitude!
[I can read your mind...]
Alex gulped when he saw the new text and quickly tried to change his thoughts as he began to think about other things. He soon began recollecting the 'special video' that his previous body owner was watching and his expression turned weird again. This brat's taste wasn't bad...
Realizing where his thoughts drifted, Alex coughed and shook his head. He now had a an identification system and was reborn in a world of abilities. He was already set to reach the utmost peak.
Alex looked around his room and was disgusted by the mess in the room. Tissue papers and clothes thrown around. Magazines lying under the bed and old food plates drying by the corner. Frowning, he began cleaning the room, only to quickly begin panting.
"This body really has a weak heart!" Alex sweared as he felt the horrible palpitations from his body from doing basic cleaning and gasping for breath.
Soon he was confused. His memories seem to suggest that Alex had a congenital heart disease but in this new age, there were options to treat illnesses, so why wasn't he treated?
Soon he remembered why. Apparently, Alex's parents had taken him to various doctors and even healers who had acquired mysterious abilities from rare monster fields only to be told that there was no known cure for this brat's illness.
Alex sighed. As a voracious novel otaku, he knew that such a situation was rather common. There would always be a drawback that had to be tackled in the early days. But with such an illness that even cleaning his own room was a chore, how would he become the strongest?
After panting for a good fifteen minutes, Alex continued cleaning his room again, being careful to rest intermittently so as to not nix his heart again.
A couple of hours later, his room was transformed and Alex was perspiring heavily. He grabbed the large waste bags he had filled up and took them out of the room. When he walked out of the room, he found his parents looking at him with a stunned expression.
"You... cleaned your room?" Alex's mom asked in obvious bewilderment.
Alex huffed and puffed as he took the garbage bags out while nodding. Alex's father put down the holographic light brain he was reading the news from to look at his son in shock, before looking at his wife.
Alex shook his head. His previous body owner was really a toxic slag. Even doing such a simple thing was shocking to his parents, it could be imagined how low an opinion he had in their eyes.
After dealing with the trash, Alex returned to the house to find his sister coming out with a cute looking pink cat. The cat was filled with fluffy cotton candy like fur and Alex seemed to recollect that it was a common pet monster that girls would have.
Suddenly A translucent display activated in front of Alex's eyes.
[Pink Sweet Feline]
[Ordinary Grade - 3]
[Abilities - Act Cute, Quick Swipe]
[Remarks - Useless Trash that seduces little girls!]
Alex didn't know whether to laugh or cry when he saw the remark of the system. But as an ordinary grade pet, this pink cat was really a useless pet, only good to entertain a little missy like his sister.
Strength was categorized into various categories, be it for monsters, humans, skills and abilities. Ordinary grade was the worst grade, followed by Uncommon Grade, Rare Grade and Unusual Grade.
Why the scale of power was named in such a fashion wasn't clear to Alex, but he rationalized it as the stronger the creature the less frequently it could be found in the wild. Thinking of this, Alex tried to examine his own status.
[Alex Hail]
[Ordinary Grade - 0 (Congenital Heart Disease)]
[Abilities - Inspection System, Transmigrator]
[Remarks - Worse than Scum!]
Alex conveniently ignored this system's ego bashing and snapped out his daze as he saw the pink cat snarl at him and wave its paw furiously, threatening him. Seeing this Alex snorted.
"Lily, you better put that stupid cat in check!" He snorted and then walked towards his room. His aggressive behavior shocked his family.
"Alex! Did you hit your head today?" His sister retorted angrily. "Little Pink is only being playful!"
Alex's father put down his news again and looked at Alex. "Alex, is something bothering you today?" He asked with seriousness. "You seem... different!"
Alex sighed. He might occupy the body of the perverted brat, but he wasn't the same personality after all. It wasn't unusual for his father to notice something wrong. Even his mother looked concerned and beckoned him to the dining table.
"What is wrong son?" She asked as she ruffled his hair. "You even cleaned your room today - did something happen?"
Alex sat down on the table, opposite his dad and beside his mom and nodded. "My heart disease is getting worse. I almost had a heart attack a few hours back." He replied after some thought before looking at his dad with a strange gaze. "I want to cultivate so that I can at least lead a healthy life."
When his parents and sister heard that Alex almost had a heart attack their faces paled. Alex's mom began to turn his face sideways and then grasped his hand to check his heart rhythm. After a minute, her face turned dignified.
Knowing Alex's health situation, his parents had tried a lot of ways to find a treatment for their son, but had failed. As a result, they never tried to pressure him because they knew that it wasn't his fault. Still, seeing him turn into a decadent slag had pained their hearts - yet they could only look on with sadness.
Alex's mother looked at his father and seriously spoke up. "His pulse is really weak. It seems like he did suffer from a cardiac arrest, but somehow survived. We need to take him to the hospital now!"
"Mom, I'm fine now." Alex groaned, but his persuasions were useless, as he was soon admitted to the local hospital
