Red's POV
Midnight stars were seen from the sky whilst silent and peaceful atmosphere surrounds inside the car, quiet snores and breathing were the only sounds that could be heard inside the car as the silent buzz from the car follows. Night and dark space surround the road that only a few lights from the post could brighten a bit. I put the mode to automatic as I slump down on the leather from exhaustion. I have been driving for about four hours straight whilst the two Smith sleep comfortably.
My mind wanders from the secret message that Aiden and I noticed earlier. I am not sure if others noticed it but the hidden message clearly says it.
'Don't come anywhere near the underworld continent' it says... yet I don't get it.
' Why does he not want us to go there when the investigation mostly about the big bosses living inside of that country...' I thought hard as I drive. Sweats start to form on my forehead as it feels cool on my skin. My mind starts to think if's and but's, doubting the possible clues that my mind created as soon after, my head starts to hurt badly as I tried my best to drive. My sight's starts to get blurry and my headache worsen so I decided to park at the side of the road since only a few hovers were here as they soon passed us. Only leaving us behind with the dark and creepy endless road without only little lights.
I turn on the small disc. above the A/C were I usually play my favourite orchestra and classical music that helps me ease my stress for a bit. I took the water from the cup holder beside me and a few pain killers that could ease my back to my head.
I slump my head back at the little pillow behind me as I start to relax were sleep almost seduced me before I could fall asleep, I heard a quiet whimper and groan. I open my eyes to check if it's Luke, staring at him for a few seconds as soon after I heard a whimper but this time, it's a bit louder. I look at Aiden from behind as I saw him all sweaty from his forehead to his neck and clavicle. His lips pale and blueish as his eyes flutter shut as if in pain. Worry starts to crawl in me as I adjusted the seat so I could reach him enough to touch his shoulders. I shook him gently with a little force whilst his whimpering and pitiful state carry on–a bit louder this time– as sobs pass through his paled bluish lips. His tears manage to escape quite easily as it soon falls down like a waterfall, tracing his soft fair skin that Madeleine was jealous of. Every passing second his state only worsen as his whimper turns into pitiful cries that broke my heart as his second parent. His lips trembles as watery snot came out of his nose. His cries grew louder making Luke wake from his sweet dream he's having. His sleepy self disappears as soon as he hears Aiden's cries. As if old ways come back were a cute little kid we named Aiden would have his nightly nightmares for the first few weeks he became comfortable around us to call Luke as 'dad' as I become his 'uncle'. Surprisingly, Aiden didn't call luke as 'dad' anymore since he turns 13 of his age. We conclude that its part of his 'teen-age' days or somewhat' rebel ways' but he insisted working for him as a sign of gratitude and respect he felt when Luke adopted him. I guess that's where to start that he calls Luke as 'Master' and not as 'dad' anymore... it made luke sad for a few days though, complaining that his little boy was all grown up and refuse to call him dad anymore.
My flashback of memory disappears as I heard Aiden saying 'Abby' repeatedly as his whimpers get louder.
My eyes widen as I noticed that he grew paler and paler as the seconds pass by whilst he keeps muttering my little niece's name. The only word he ever mutters was 'Abby's and 'No's making Luke and I all worried now. I turn my seat around so I could face him as I shook him really hard this time.
Luke turns his seat also as he prepares the water and a towel from the car pocket below the car handle. He put a white flower oil scent on the certain part of a towel as he put it an inch away to Aiden's nose. Trying to wake Aiden up using its spicy scent. Aiden seems to wake up a bit as his eyes start to flutter open whilst I give Luke a 'How did you do that' look.
He gave me a smug face as if telling me that 'old days'. After that, he took the water from the cup holder again as he waits patiently for Aiden to wake up.
A moment later Aiden finally stirs up as he looks at us with narrow eyes and half-awake face but you could still see evidently the terror in his eyes that came from his whatever hellish dream he just had. Luke leans forward as he put the bottle's lid on Aiden's lips as he gently pushes it up for him to gulp the cool liquid.
Aiden sat up and leans his back at the leathered backseat as he soon starts to fully wake up from his trance. He held the bottle from Luke's hand as he gulps the water hurriedly before he hands it back to his dad's hand.
"We should go home now..." he whispered under his breath, thankfully the atmosphere is too quiet that we manage to hear it without a problem. His voice ragged, as if he screams so many times, and full of worry... no, he's really anxious. His eyes filled with unshed tears as he starts to fidget in obvious worry and fear. He just got paler compared earlier, as if he's recalling the dream he just had.
'Why does he wants us to go home? I mean we are, but why is he so nervous and anxious at the same time!'
'Is something wrong with him again?'
'Have his nightmares came back? Was it still haunts him every night?
'But its been long gone! He's already healed.'
My mind starts to wander and make questions with no answer as I shiver with the worry of nerves crawls in my skin. His shouts when he's just a kid pass through in my ears as if he's really shouting right in front of me. The pain he was having back then was unbearable that I could help myself but to give him to Luke because he has a wife that could guide and heal Aiden in the process.
His sufferings still haunt me like a tsunami whenever he's sick or not feeling good. My chest felt heavy with worry as my heart clench in a painful way where my mind wanders the traumatizing past of Aiden.
He made me traumatized like an inexperienced father.
"We should go home...now please!" He pleads as his eyes start to water a little whilst it held a very evident worry.
"Why? What's wrong?" Luke asks Aiden as he tries to soothe the trembling teen with his hand resting on Aiden's metallic arm. He looks at us in the eyes as he tells us the horrible dream he had. About him being outside of their house, watching it eaten by the hungry flames as he heard Abby's cries and scream, making us both pale as he continues his story. I felt my nape run cold as shivers run through my spine.
'But it was just a dream...'
"Don't worry Aiden nothing will happen to our family. I will make our security even tighter to lessen your worry."
"No! You don't understand. This is the first time I felt so worried just because of that dream... I can't help it but believe" He said as he whispers the last part with full of anxiety. Obviously, his emotions took over him quite harshly that he can't control it as he usually does, making him all trembling and fidgeting there on his seat.
Luke couldn't take it anymore as he hugs his adopted son, comforting Aiden to his best as they both tremble, but that's because of Aiden harsh trembling that I almost thought that he's having a panic attack but he couldn't have those kinds but fear. He's a cyborg that couldn't have panic attacks, hyperventilate, etc. Etc. Because his mind and brain already upgraded to not feel those, in fact, we made him like that so he wouldn't have severe panic attacks whenever he saw blood, knives and after his dreams...
But we just made him like a robot instead, in a better way. He still has his emotion, yes but he couldn't control them well. But that makes him better... he became like how he is now.
But ...did we just added his suffering?
