ALBERT'S POV
FLASHBACK:
"This is our ticket out" William stated and I admired his notations on the virus. He mentioned the virus may be flawed and revision would be necessary. I agreed, the virus was a bit unstable and if not adjusted properly this may be a thorn in the sides.
We needed perfection in order to be truly free.
"We have to work fast but careful" I told William who took a small sip of his coffee. I eyed him, William was loosing sleep but I knew there was other factors than the G-Virus. I clawed the mouse, my eyes still fixed on screen.
"We don't have much time to work with Albert" he told me and while I agreed I was the kind of man to go above and beyond.
I stared at the computer screen, Brikin was a genius. Yes, I was aware of my friend's intellect but in this vere moment he proved himself with his very first work outside of Umbrella's orders. I used my middle finger to move my shades downwards, a small smirk making its way to my lips.
This was more than our tickets out.
"With the upcoming events our escape is guaranteed" I told the man who was seated, my back straightening only for our conversation to come to an abrupt end.
"Escape?" Annette asked, her arms crossed as her daughter hugged her legs. There was no physical proof to say that the devil was a man. I rubbed my index finger against my nose as I stared at her.
I pulled my collar a bit as I stared at the girl Annette chose to bring in an environment that made her oddly uncomfortable. I lift my gaze only to stare at Annette who was busy staring at her husband. William was the perfect potty in ghe hands of this woman.
"I don't think the girl wants to be here Annette" I told her as I walked by her, Annette mumbling something rather disrespectful. I saw no relevance in issuing a reply so I kept walking, it was about time I got out of this damn uniform.
PRESENT:
I adjusted my spectacles, my clothing had been discarded the moment I exited the sewer and most importantly the reptile that lurked in the pungent water. I had the opportunity to kill it but I refrained for the the purpose of the possibility that there were other survivours. If it was unable to kill them it was only fair that they died of natural causes.
As far as I knew there was a possibility that Redfield's little sister was still alive but wounded. The Chief was killed by my hands so he was no longer on my death list but the rookey cop who stood up to him was still alive. I found the situation quite unfortunate because for someone with poor experience he was doing well at surviving this tragedy. The team I lead into the beginning of this tragedy were far less assertive than he was.
They were the perfect fools.
Claire was just like her brother. She was not as smart as Kennedy but it was her will to survive that kept her alive. I was partly responsible for her existence now but I could not find myself killing the girl, it is possible that she may be useful to me.
I tighten the cuff of the white suit, my shades resting on the metallic bed of one of the rooms designed for experiments. The zombies at the facility was far different from the ones present in Raccoon city. For one, the zombie's here were either in the nude or dressed in white. I fired at the zombie that made it way towards me, my shades being retrieved as I threw my body over the metallic bed.
White was never my favorite colour but at this point there was not much of a choice. The entire facility was white from the tiles to the wall and ceiling. Also, the building suffered a great damage even though the zombies here were far less than those presnt at the station. I hopped from a dismantled staircase onto a familiar area, this was the most despise route to the corporation but this was the only route available.
The city was coming close to being demolished. The aim is simply to grab the virus and get out before the government decides to hide the skeletons in a rather big closet.
I straightened my knees the moment I was down, I was about to move when a odd cry caused me to freeze. I spun around swiftly, my gun raised as something moved in the distance. Whatever 'it' was I would not move until it was wounded and strong enough to hurt those who would travel these grounds.
"Come at me, I am ready" but my statement did not match my facial expression when the creature stepped free from the darkness. The creature was that of a man with one regular arm and a oversized claw for the other. The creature growled my name, my eyes burning behind my shades.
The rumours were rather true.
William injected his life's work into his body. There was more truth to the situation because just as Birkin had predicted the virus was flawed. Birkin only had a matter of seconds in there because if the virus was as unstable as he predicted, he would kill everything living.
I lowered my gun, my eyes closed as I moved swiftly to another location of the facility. There was no way I could bring myself to challenge a very good friend. If it was not for William's help I would have died months ago. I kept myself against the wall when I smelled something feminine. I moved slightly only for my eyes to land on a white coat, my gun aimed at the woman's head.
