I looked across the courtyard of the imperial palace.
It was a beautiful courtyard at that.
Plenty of green grass and exotic flowers.
That was pretty much all there was in the who palace.
Luxury and goods.....
I decided to take a walk.
*Step*
*Step*
Walking was all you could do until you came across the trees in the backside of the palace.
It was spring already now huh?
There where baby birds and plenty of other animals chirping way in pleasure at their new families.
It felt almost bittersweet at how simple animals could be so happy at the smallest things while I agonized at the strongest opinions.
I sighed.
*Chirp*
I looked up.
A baby bird.
With a milky pink skin that hadn't grow feathers yet, chirped joyfully as its mother bent down and placed a red worm in its mouth.
The bird there after curled up under its mothers wing to fall asleep.
I watched.
The baby bird was young but you could already tell what species it was.
Its dark gray and silver nose as well as legs shimmered in the sun.
The babies mother had silver, blue, gray, and black feathers.
Such a beautiful mourning dove.
Suddenly, as though it was intended, the mother mourning dove pushed the baby mourning dove off the nest from which it stood.
Eyes going wide I willed my hand forward as the baby dove fell softly onto my hand.
It shivered a bit and then lay still.
It was as if it had understood what had happened and accepted its fate.
I grabbed a piece of the cloth from my white fabric cloth and wrapped it around the baby dove.
I sighed.
"So you where left behind too then."
The small birds body let out a chirp before its large black opened and looked up at me before opening its mouth and chirping vigorously.
I smiled.
"I'm not your mom you little bird" I said aloud.
"Hmmmmmmm. You need a name" I decided.
I stared deep into the chicks eyes which had become very calmed once it stopped begging for food.
"I am Oliver De Griseo Mundi" I introduced myself.
"You will be Ryia" I concluded.
People might think it looks weird that I am talking to a bird but who cares.
Maybe when Ryia grows up she could be my carrier pigeon and serve as the royal bird.
Hah.
How amusing.
"You amuse me" I chuckled as I held up Ryia in the sunlight to get closer look at her flesh colored skin that almost looked human.
"What right do I have to look down on you though....... god made us all equal right?
Be it human or animal, all residents of the Empire of Griseo Mundi are mine to protect now and forever."
The bird chirped as if acknowledging my existence.
