Chapter 11 - 11. Party

In the front of Ehren household, five or six carriages could be seen moving towards the big front gate of the mansion. They were moving while being guarded from every angle by knights in armour using a defensive formation, so the carriage in the middle will be the one with the most protection.

When they arrived in front of the mansion gate, half of the people separated themselves to lead the carriage to the back of the mansion while the other half went to the front before walking out of their respective carriage.

In the middle of the caravan, especially from the fanciest carriage than the other, walking out two people. One of them is Yoro's mother, a fine lady with blonde hair which fell to her back with blue eyes that contrast with the night sky in above.

And the other person was a man, with jet black hair that was neither straight nor curly which made them look silky and glossy under the moonlight. Both of his eyes were sharp and having the same black colour as his hair, it looks like the eyes of a sleeping lion who waited to be woken up. But right now, sticking on his face is a happy smile. A smile that anyone expects when they just go to the safest and most comfortable place which was called home.

He led people behind him with firm steps and sturdy posture while his whole body was emanating the elegance that should be possessed by all nobles. When he walked forward, his eyes never left one spot even when all his servants had already bowed towards him. He continued to stare at the boy in the front mansion across him, waiting to greet him for his return. Until he stopped his steps when he was close enough to talk with the boy.

Arnold: "Y—"

Right when Arnold just wanted to open his mouth, Arnold's eyes suddenly widened in surprise as if he just saw something unbelievable in front of him. His flabbergasted expression was out in the open to be seen, including Yoro who was confused at this kind of development. But right now, other than Yoro and his mother, every other person was bowing their head in respect, so they missed this spectacle in front of them.

Except for one person.

Arnold's sudden pause made Chad realize that his liege seemed to know something, so he raised his head and made eye contact with him.  Arnold's eyes filled with confusion and seriousness, as if he was telling Chad he was demanding him about what's actually happened. They stare at each other's eyes for a moment under Yoro and Diana's gaze before they nodded at each other.

Chad went inside, while Arnold stared back at his son, Yoro. What was left inside his eyes  there was only warmth and happiness, making Yoro quite confused at what was just going on.

Arnold: "I am home…." said Arnold before diverting his eyes at Diana, motioning her to do the same.

Diana: "I am glad you're okay…no, you are looking healthier even." she said after looking at Yoro's face, which now had lost the sick paleness it had before.

Yoro felt a bit weird internally after hearing what they said to him, but he managed to keep his composure and answered properly: "Welcome home...father, mother."

And so the first meeting of a transmigrator and marquis of Ehren occurred.

================

In the hall of the Ehren mansion, a lavish dinner was being held. A long table placed in the centre with white tablecloth covered it. Around that long table, there were many round tables with the same white tablecloths as a cover. On top of the table, available all kinds of foods you can think of, and people in the hall can be seen eating happily.

In the long table on the centre, sit three people with formal clothes, eating with a manner as a noble. The person sitting side by side was Arnold Ehner, the current marquis of Ehren and his wife, Diana Ehren. On the opposite side of them, was a boy who was their son, Yoshiro.

Since the start of the feast, Arnolds eyes have always peeked at Yoshiro who was sitting across from him. Yoro's heart naturally grew nervous at this motion. However, his face is still neutral and stiff like the usual Yoro they knew.

Yoro didn't know what was going on inside Arnold's head at the moment, but based on the smile that came to his lips from time to time, he at least could be sure it was something good and not something along the line of his real identity had discovered.

Yoro wasn't used to behave and eat with a noble manner, so even if he had the memories about how exactly he should do it, Arnold and Diana could see Yoro's clumsiness here and there, making them thought Yoro might still nervous around many people like this.

Diana: "how was your day while we were gone?" From the front, a caring and tender-filled voice entered Yoro's ear.

Yoro knew it was his mother even without raising his head. However, to be called by his name with this familiar yet unfamiliar voice was a pretty weird experience if it was being said.

Yoro: "It's…..it's boring" Yoro said honestly after he pondered for a moment

Arnold and Diana both put on a bitter smile on their face, they knew better than anyone that the activities Yoro could do were very limited due to his weak and sick body. But the actual reason Diana asked him those was because of the gift she got prior to the feast.

Recalling once again about the words Yoro had said before, Diana was sure that Yoro went to the city himself to buy it for her. Diana didn't think much about it before, but from the eyes that Arnold was currently giving to Yoro, she knew her husband had sensed something inside him.

Diana: "Then what about today?" She asked again, but now, her eyes gleaming with different light than before.

Yoro was getting more and more confused at what they were trying to make him say to them. Yoro's brows slightly furrowed as he thought about what other difference he had today other than it was the first day he was transmigrated.

Yoro: 'Arnold's happy reaction? Eye contact with Chad? And Diana's expectation'

Yoro mulled over it again and again to think of the answer they wanted. He couldn't play it wrong now, that their hopeful eyes literally locked onto him as if it was glued strongly.

Yoro: 'wait....don't tell me-'

Yoro: "it's…..great. I dont know the reason why, but my body somehow feels healthier than ever since I woke up this morning." He said while putting up a little smile on his lips

Even when they were already expecting it, Arnold and Diana were still struck suprise by what Yoro just said. It was even more so when they saw the rare spectacle of the slight smile on Yoro's lips they hadn't seen from god knows when. Both of them looked at each other with unconcealed relief and happiness in them before they both laughed at the same time.

Arnold: "it's great to hear that, really."

Diana: "Yes, I think god finally took a pity upon us."

Yoro: 'no, it's not. Sorry, but your real son actually had already died, so it's definitely not a pity from heaven' Yoro averted his eyes as those impolite thoughts entered his head.

Like that, the feast then became more lively with both of them encouraging all the servants and maid to drink and eat as much as they wanted to their full. Both Arnold and Diana's faces also turned bright in the whole feast as they were talking with each other and to their servants in a happy atmosphere.

Yoro stayed silent throughout the time, while giving a curt and short response when someone was talking to him or asked him a question.

Both Yoro, the original one and the earthling one, were both a person who didn't fancy something like a party and feast that much, and both for a good, yet different reason. The original Yoro didn't like any stamina consuming activities like talking and lively atmosphere.

It was because doing so would make him feel he was different from others and he would isolate himself like a sore thumb when that happened.

While the earthling Yoro, who resided in this body now, didn't like it because of nothing but it was a money-wasting activity.

But while he slowly fading to the background, trying to get as less conspicuous as could be, someone suddenly called out to him.

???: "Hey, young master" a relaxed voice came from behind him while someone tapping on his back

Yoro's face turned stiff as he looked at the back. There was standing the only person who could talk with him with that much of an ease, and the person who should know him better than anyone here.

Yoro: "Cecilia…"

A bitter smile came to his face as he saw her standing there. It seemed he couldn't do as much as a trivial thing like just observing without disturbance like he initially thought.

Yoro shook his head helplessly and said to her while turning his face back to the front: "what do you want?"

Cecilia: "it seems there is no people who want to talk with you, so I volunteer myself in, young master"

Yoro: "Well, you know it's not needed right?"

He said that as if he was shunning her. However, instead of showing discomfort or irritation, he just sipped the fruit juice in his hand while looking at the party comfortably, without any sign of making her go away or whatsoever.

Cecilia: "yes yes, alright."

By her amused response, it was clear that Cecilia also acted and behaved like she didn't buy what he just said.

Yoro kept his silence for some moment, until he then opened his mouth again out of curiosity.

Yoro: "There are many other people who would like to talk with a person like you…"

There was a brief silence between them, with Yoro furrowing his eyebrows as if he contemplated whether he should say this out or not.

But in the end, he sighed and said it anyway.

Yoro: "Rather than staying with a hopeless and  useless cripple like me, you should talk with either marquis or marchioness there to curry their favor like the other. I will be just fine without you in here."

Yoro closed his eyes and rested his back on the seat behind him after saying those. The music in the background was quite nice to the ear right now. He might fall asleep if he continued to stay like this.

But then Cecilia said some really surprising words to him at the next moment.

Cecilia: "what are you talking about?"

Yoro: "hmm?"

Cecilia: "Are you saying I should talk to them and leave your lonely back in here? Well, no. I think I will passed on that one, young master"

Yoro: 'lonely? What does she—'

When Yoro turned his face behind and looked at Cecilia, his thought was halted when he saw that there was a caring smile on her face.

Yoro was in daze as soon as he saw that, and neither of them talked, or made another movement. However, Yoro quickly came to his senses and looked at his feast in front of him again after giving some fake cough.

He was dazed and he didn't respond to her statement, not due to him being captivated by her beautiful face, or bewitched by that caring smile of her.

It was because his heart grew annoyingly comfortable and warm when the fact suddenly struck him, as to when the time since there was a person who would willingly stayed by his side and kept him company without him giving them some or even anything as a return.

With that thought running in his mind, Cecilia and Yoro both basked in each other's presence without making any conversation afterwards. Others might feel this kind of atmosphere was kind of disturbing. However, they just enjoy this party just fine even if that's the case.

And just like that, the time passed in a peaceful, yet lively atmosphere.
