Nicholas furrowed his eyebrows. "Don't play some tricks on me, Adele."
Adeline moved forward until she was close enough to his ear. Shouting loudly into his ear she yelled, "It's a secret! I'll never tell you!"
She then retreated back with her tongue stuck out.
"Adele!" Nicholas simultaneously squeezed his eyes and touched his ear. "That's so childish."
"Well aren't you too? I'm just returning the favor."
Adeline snatched his phone and laughed. "Ella needs to see this, stay still."
As soon as Adeline was about to press the the camera button, Nicholas abruptly grabbed his phone, pushed her against the wall, and held her hands above her head. Adeline then stood there as her heart started thumping in her chest.
Adeline smiled and gulped. "What are y-you planning to do?"
"Do you believe that I can't do anything to you?" Nicholas took a few steps closer. "I'm more than that, Adele."
"Is this a joke? Ha ha, very funny. You can let go of me now."
"Wait." Nicholas loosened his grip and lifted her chin. "What do you think?"
Adeline pushed him away. "What's wrong with you?" She wiped her sweat.
Nicholas smirked. "How's my acting?" Do you think Ella would like it?"
"You'll be making her confused." Adeline looked away. "Don't do that to her unless you're married."
"You just can't admit that I'm too good at it!" Nicholas sat down.
"It's not that, silly. Who taught you how to do that?"
"Secret."
"I'm just asking who." Adeline pouted. "You really can't tell me?"
"Nope." Nicholas put his finger over her lips. "Unless you beg me."
Adeline showed a fist and raised an eyebrow. "You dare ask me to beg you?"
"It's an option."
"Whatever." Adeline rolled her eyes as she started walking away.
"Hey! Where are you going?" Nicholas shouted.
Adeline turned her head. "To check out Jacob's progress."
Meanwhile...
(At the nearby park)
"At that day in the hotel, I told you that I'd do whatever it takes to win your heart." Jacob sat on the swing. "Did you believe it?"
Molly nodded as her face started turning red. "I never thought that it would be actually coming from you."
"You make me happier than I ever thought I could be, Molly. I'm willing to spend the rest of my life trying to make you feel the same way."
"Then describe your feelings. How are you positive that it's love? You might be mistaken."
"The way you make me feel is hard to explain. You make me smile in a special kind of way." Jacob held her hand. "You just make me fall deeper in love everyday."
Molly sighed, "Wh-What are you saying? Why don't you just—"
"Each day, I tell myself that I'm done trying so hard to get you, but deep down, I know that I'll never stop because I love you too much to give up."
"Jacob, no matter how much I try, I just can't seem to see a future with you."
"You told me that you'd give me till graduation." Jacob gazed at the stars. "After college, we go separate ways and stay as friends."
Molly jerked forward. "Your words do seem convincing, but you're just wasting your time."
"I'll treasure every single moment with you. Even if you still end up not liking me, I won't have any regrets."
"Stop this!" Molly grabbed his shoulders and cried, "I don't want to see you get hurt!"
Jacob patted her head. "You can choose to ignore it, but it doesn't mean that I'll give up."
"Wh-Why are you doing all this for a person who doesn't even deserve your love...? I've already told you didn't I? Why do you choose to take the risk...?"
"It's worth it, Molly."
