As months passed, Molly slowly started falling for Jacob, but she didn't like the feeling she had for him. When they first met, she didn't want to get involved with someone like him. She didn't have the time nor energy. She didn't think she was ready for it, but he treated her so well, got swept by that little by little, until she found herself falling for him.
The days where he would always tie her shoelaces, hold her bag, and put his jacket on her were all so vivid in her mind. There were times where she would hide from him, but he still ended up finding her.
She smiles when she thinks of him and reads his texts over and over again, so why did she kept denying her feelings? He was the exact opposite of her ideal man, but why would she get nervous when he's around her? Why does her heart race whenever he was beside her?
Meeting him was fate, becoming his friend was a choice she made, but falling in love with him was something she couldn't control.
"Why can't you be with me? You've already admitted that you felt the same way!" Jacob clenched his fist. "You can't stop the feelings you have for somone. You can deceive me, but you can't lie to yourself! Your heart knows the truth too well."
"I've already told you that I just can't." Molly turned her back. "Stop asking me."
"You expect me to give up not knowing the reason why?"
"I can't say it. It's too insulting."
Jacob grabbed her wrist and turned her around before she crashed into his hard chest. "I won't let you go no matter what it is."
"You want it right?" Molly yelled as she took a deep breath. "I'm ashamed of you. Happy? It's embarrassing to be your girlfriend. You're notorious for being a play boy and I can't let our relationship affect my reputation."
"That's it? Then we can date secretly until your—"
"Look, I want a peaceful life, but I can't have that if we're always on the school newspaper."
"So what? True love is built on sacrifice."
"Why would I sacrifice for love? I don't need it."
Jacob grabbed her waist and tightened his grip. "Is that all you can say to make me stop?"
"We'll be photographed if we stay like this." Molly tried escaping his grip. "Let go, Jacob!"
"Don't think that this is effective."
"I'd you don't let go, I'll really shout."
As soon as she finished her sentence, Jacob gently pressed his lips onto Molly's. His right hand caressing her cheek, while the other was grasping her waist, pulling her closer. Molly then slowly closed her eyes as she couldn't help but respond to the kiss that she had been longing for.
Jacob gave her a kiss on the nose then rubbed his on hers. "This can change everything."
Molly took a few steps back, covering her face with her hands. "Th-That was a mistake..."
"You're lying." Jacob gently moved her hand so that he could see her eyes. "I know you want it."
"Close your eyes."
"Why?"
"Just do it, stupid!"
Jacob could've just hesitated, but he listened. He felt her grab his hand, hold them tightly, locking fingers. Now he felt her breath on his cheek and heard a whisper in his ear.
"For the last time, I'll try, Jacob."
Her lips were warm and soft, the taste of milky chocolate. She pressed herself against him as his hands moved through her hair, closing the gap between them.
"Why can't I just stop this?" Molly grabbed his shoulders as tears started falling from her face. "Why did it have to be you?"
"Don't cry." Jacob used his thumb to wipe her tears.
"I-I'm sorry. We can't be together."
"Then what was that kiss all about? Are you just gonna tell me that it was a mistake too?"
"I just wanted—"
"Don't be sorry."
"I-I didn't want t-to be loved you..."
"If only you knew, Molly." He kissed her forehead. "How crazy I am about you."
