Chereads / If You Were Made To Be Mine / Chapter 25 - Who Are You?

Chapter 25 - Who Are You?

A couple of weeks later, the enigmatic man that threatened Jacob called to tell him that he wanted to meet up. Initially, Jacob refused since the man instructed him to go alone, but for the sake of his mother, he finally agreed to meet the man face to face.

(At un unknown place)

"Remove your mask." Jacob clenched his fist. "Who are you?"

The man removed his wool coat. "What I look like doesn't matter. Did you bring any—"

"Where's my mother? You told me that I'd get to see her."

"Oh, you mean her." The man brought out a dagger and pointed it towards him. "What do you think I've done?"

"What did you do to her?" Jacob slammed the table.

"Calm down. She's just locked up in my mother's room."

Instead of responding, Jacob attempted to remove the man's mask, but before he could even touch it, the man swiftly grabbed his arm and twisted it. He recoiled in pain, but after a split second his adrenaline took over. He then grabbed his legs and pulled him down onto the concrete, but the man was able to kick his stomach, making Jacob's head slam on the floor.

"You're nothing against me." The man brushed off the dust from his shoulder. "If you don't wanna get hurt, you better not defy me."

Jacob slowly stood up as he wiped off the blood dripping from his mouth. "If you won't let me see my mother, show me that hideous face of yours."

"Would I be such a fool to do that? You'll just tell the police won't you?"

"Let go of my mother and I'll keep my mouth shut."

"You haven't done my request yet. Why would—"

"Then why did you choose me?" Jacob scowled, pulling the man's shirt. "It could've been anyone else!"

The man pushed him away. "I like how you aren't vigilant. You might seem strong in the outside, but when it comes to your mother, you're just helpless."

"If you're angry at him, then go and do whatever you want to him. Why do you keep pestering me?"

"I've attempted to kill him a couple of times, but that friend of yours has too much people around him, and that includes you."

"Revenge isn't the solution to everything." Jacob glared, wanting to smash his face. "You are in no position to do anything to hurt him.

"Seems like you're still concerned about that friend of yours. I thought you didn't care what I'd do to him."

"Stay away from us. We don't owe you anything."

"Do you think that's effective?" The man brought out a riffle. "I get what I want. No one can get in my way."

"Want me to—"

"If you disobey me, you won't get out of this place alive."

"Kill me then." Jacob stretched out his arms. "I'd rather die than live a life filled with remorse and shame."

The man put the riffle on his forehead. "You might regret not listening to me."

"How would you say that?"

"Don't you think that friend of yours is hiding something? Did you know that he was the one that killed your father?"

As soon as Jacob heard that, he didn't move a muscle. Would he believe everything the man says? But what if his friend did kill his father? Should he just obey the man or continue to defend his friend?

"I won't believe anything you say." Jacob looked at him straight in the eye.

"You're going to trust everything your friend says?" The man laughed. "He's deceiving you and you're actually falling for it?"

"Why would you care?"

"Instead of killing him, why don't we just hurt the person he loves the most? It's better seeing him suffer for a longer time."

"I'm not doing that with you."

The man gave a scornful smile. "It's your choice. If you chose not to, then don't blame me for cutting your mother's head off."
