"Listen to me, you'll be okay!" Alexandre said, trying to talk his sister out of what she was about to do.
"And how do you know that!!" Aurelia is crying her eyes out as she's trying to open the window of the north tower.
"Please Aurelia, I can't lose you. We can get through this together." Alexandre is on the verge of tears as he slowly moves towards his sister who is still struggling to open the window.
"Why do you care!! At school you never want to be around me. You stand there and watch while I am being bullied! WHAT KIND OF BROTHER DOES THAT!!" Aurelia turns on her brother screaming, "YOU DON'T CARE ABOUT ME! NOBODY EVER DOES! THEY DON'T WANT ME AS THEIR NEXT RULER THEY WANT YOU!! If I die there is absolutely NOTHING standing in your way." She throws the window open.
Jumping and grabbing her waist and pulling her down on the floor as she goes to fall out the window Alexandre says, "I'm literally the worst brother ever, but please I wouldn't be able to live without you. Everyone in school looks up to you. I didn't even know you were being bullied." They are sitting on the ground crying when they hear boots thudding up the stairs.
A member of the royal guard breaks through the door at the top of the north tower staircase, "Your highnesses, what are you doing up here? We saw the princess's tiara fall from up here. Is everything alright? Is there someone else up here?" he stops at the top of the stairwell and looks into the room. It looks like the twins are alone from what he can see.
"No Damein there isn't anyone up here. But would you please find out where mother and father are, we need to speak with them." Alexandre said, wiping his tears away and helping his sister up.
"Wait Mother and Father! I don't want to see them!" Aurelia says, snatching her hand away from her brother, "They don't care about me. Damien please step aside. I wish to go to my chambers." Damein takes a hesitant step to the side and bows. His eye brows are crinkled; he is still visibly worried, he knows that Aurelia tried to throw herself out of the window. It wasn't very hard to tell from the evidence in the room and the fact of Aurelia's tiara falling from the tallest tower of the castle.
"Aurelia, Mother and Father deserve to know. You need help. Please listen to me." Alexandre was saying as Aurelia started to head towards the staircase.
"Do you think I'm mental?" Aurelia says with fury in her voice as she turns and faces her brother, "Let me guess, you think I'm mentally disturbed. You think I need help. Well guess what brother I'm broken! How does that make you feel? I'd really like to know." As she's talking she is slowly walking backwards towards the open door that leads to the staircase.
"YOU KNOW THAT ISN-" Alexandre is interrupted by Aurelia's scream as she takes one step too many and she's falling down a twisting staircase.
"AURELIA WATCH OUT!!" At Aurelia's scream Damein tries to catch her and he just barely misses her hand. As she falls it feels like time has slowed down. A little way down you can hear the crack of bones on old bricks and you can hear her cry out in pain as she keeps falling. Alexandre is dumbstruck.
"NO!" Alexandre cries out running down the staircase after Damein follows him. As they run down the stairs Damein searches the area for any items dropped, as well as looking for blood. They reach the bottom of the stairs and there's blood splattered on the last few steps. Alexandre stops dead in his tracks causing Damein to come to a sudden halt. Laying on the floor in a shaking pile is Aurelia. She is still conscious but just barely.
"NO! This can't be real" Alexandre says as he falls to his knees and really examines Aurelia. She has a deep gash just above her right eyebrow, her limbs are folded at awkward angles and she looks like she's almost dead.
The guard comes to look for what caused such a commotion and sees the princess and prince covered in blood on the floor. "WE HAVE A SITUATION AT THE STAIRCASE IN THE NORTH CORRIDOR LEADING UP TO THE TOWER! GET THE ROYAL MEDICAL TEAM! AND QUICK!!" Damein yells to the guard on duty. The guard turns on his heels to get the rest of the royal guard and the medical staff just like General Damein commanded.
Damein moves around to the princesses side and touches her forehead and says to her in a calm voice, "Princess I need you to listen to my voice....stay awake for me....If you can hear me blink twice."
Aurelia blinks twice. She's trying to be strong. You can tell because she grabs Damein's hand and whispers, "I don't wanna die anymore."
At the corner of the corridor Damein sees shadows dancing across the wall.The medical team and royal guards are almost there. They might just be able to save Aurelia. Alexandre jumps up screaming at the doctors, "Help her please!"
"I need you to get out of my way, your highness or we might not be able to help." A man in a white lab coat tells Alexandre while giving him a quick bow.
As the King and Queen rounded the corner a scream that echoes through the halls fell from the Queen's mouth as she sees the princess's mangled body being transferred from the floor to the gurney. The Queen turned to Alexandre and pulled him close whispering into his ear. "Save your sister!"
