Chapter 4 - Chpt. 4

I climb on the back of Lynol's bike and try to wrap my arms around him but my stomach gets bigger each day I believe and it creates quite the space between us. We follow behind a van driven by a brother named Whiskey with a few others. Almost all of them got some type of weird ass name. Except Lynol.

We pull off the main road and drive over a lot of dirt to nothingness. There's a group of guys waiting around and they seem to be another bike club. They also have a van with them.

My stomach twists at the various thoughts if what could be in the van. A body. ..

I stay put on the bike while the others greet the other group. "Brought a bitch to club business?" One of the stranger asks.

"None of your fucking business!" The Rebel president snaps back.

"Getting soft are we? Gonna grow a vagina too?" The other man doesn't back down.

"Fuck off! Show us!" Again, I see the not so sweet part of Lynol like I did last night.

The guys open up the back of the van and Lynol peers through and nods before putting on a pair of gloves. He reaches in And I watch him pull out a fucking automatic machine gun type shit. You would think as a cop, I would know more about guns but I know what I need to about the gun I carry.

"Go Go, lets go!" Patrick orders me by that stupid nick name. I glare at him but don't threaten him in front of others 'cause I have a good feeling that shit doesn't fly in this club.

He hands me a pair of gloves and then hands me one of the guns. I glance to see a whole crate of them lying in the back.

"No!" Lynol starts to snatch the gun out of my hands.

"Let her prove her place!" Ed snaps. Whoa. He really doesn't trust me. Wants my prints on the guns too.

He really believes I'd give them up? I take the gloves off and grab the gun back from Lynol and point out towards the woods of nothingness and fire until the magazine is empty. I'll have a nasty bruise on my fucking shoulder tomorrow.

I hand it back over to Lynol and shoot a glare at the asshole Ed. Lynol immediately starts wiping it down. He also takes out a wad of cash and tosses it to the strangers.

The leader of the strangers grins at me and I can feel his hard eyes undressing me. Lynol yanks me closer to him and glares at the man.

"Creep." I say once they're gone.

"You're not wearing a patch, babe, in our world that names you fair game." Lynol drops his arm from around me. I try not to over think him calling me babe. We admitted we liked each other but I don't know if that makes us anything.

"A patch?" I ask instead.

"Ill explain later." He assures me then he tosses the gun back into the van.

"Means you belong to him." Pat mutters in my ear as he walks by to help his prez with the van. And the guns.

Belong. Like an old lady? I guess I understand more about the MC than I thought. Most girls would probably shit bricks at the thought of being called property like a piece of land. But I don't. I like it.

I climb back on the bike with Lynol with a smile at the thought of being his old lady. But he would have to let those club bitches go. That's a deal breaker.

We get back to the club house and sit around the tables outside. Pat starts rolling a joint. Aint even out a day and is doing illegal shit. I laugh out loud at him.

He looks at me. "Wants some?" He asks.

"Im pregnant. And Im not about that life any more." I push away his hand.

"Since when?" He laughs back.

"Since I graduated the academy." I answer.

"You look different, Margo. Besides, ya know, the obvious." He points to my stomach.

"I took all my piercing out." I say.

"I see that. All of them?" Pat glances at my chest. Trying nit to blush at the sudden hungry gaze Lynol is sending my way.

"Kinda had to. Your boobs get bigger and swell when you're pregnant, Patrick." I laugh.

"Ohhh! But you did keep them!" his voice is loud, drawing out the other old ladies that are here.

"Dick!" I shove his shoulder.

"Speaking of, I might pierce mine. Heard great things." He waggles his eyebrows at me. I bout choke on my spit And the others laugh.

"Seriously? I wanna see." Sounds perverted but that's just how Pat and I are together. I wanna know how that whole thing works.

"Absolutely not!" Lynol growls next to me. I jump at his voice. Hes never told me what to do before.

"Sorry. Didn't mean to scare you." Lynol runs his calloused hand down my jean covered thigh. "Its fine."

He gets up and goes inside with out a word. "Im going with you." I tell pat. He grins and it takes me back to all the other things we were told not to do but did anyways.

"So how excited is mom for her first grand baby?" Pat puts a hand on my stomach. Its not unusual for the both of us to call his parents mom and dad. I nod.

"Oh, you have no idea." I laugh.

"What about dad?" He's smiling.

I frown. "Pat.." I don't continue. He loses his smile too.

"What?" Worry conforms his face. "What!" His voice is louder.

"Pat, Dad died." I don't know how else to say it and I can't believe he doesn't know. Then again, none of us knew where he went when he took off.

He gets up slowly from the table and I rise too and put a hand on his arm in comfort. He shakes it off. "How?" His chest is heaving and his eyes are wild, never resting on one place. This gets his brothers attention.

Kale pulls me away from Pat and I don't resist. I know what pats like when he's mad and I can't afford to get hit in the stomach. And if he did that he would feel like shit afterwards.

"Heart attack in his sleep. Two years ago." Lynol appears in my peripheral view. A screams erodes from Patrick's mouth and he grabs the end of the table and flips it. As if his brothers already knew, they'd gotten up earlier.

Kale steps in front of me to save me from the debris of the now broken table.

Lynol snatches me from kale carefully. I watch as I see exactly how Patrick got the name Panik. But this isn't my first time seeing him flip his shit like this.

He punches the wall a couple of times then falls to the ground. I let go of Lynol and start for him. He reaches up and grabs me and holds me while he cries. I hold him close and run my fingers through his hair until he is calm and his breathing is regular.

I hand him my phone. "Call mom." I tell him. He takes it and does as told while I make my way back to the others who have seated themselves at a different, less broken table.

"He's calmed for now and calling mom.'' I tell them.

"How do you two know each other?" Ed asks. I don't get a friendly conversation vibe from him.

"Uh, his parents basically raised me. My dads a drunk and lord only knows where my mom is. So I've spent most of my childhood with Pat." I explain.

"And John, your ex?" It doesn't sound like a question. I nod anyway.

"So its just ANOTHER coincidence you know a brother." He snarls.

"Knock it the fuck off!" Lynol orders. Ed gets up and leaves. Patrick comes back and hands me my phone. I was gonna ask if he felt better but dont want to ask him in front if the others. To make him look weak.

My phone vibrates again and the name makes my heart stop then drop to my ass. Its John. "The hell?" Pat picks it up.

"Hello?" He puts it on speaker.

"Pat?" Johns voice makes me shake. Pat makes a motion for me to be quiet.

"Hey, man. How you been?" His voice is friendly but his face is not.

"Been good. Your mom told me you called earlier about you dad. Im sorry, man." John may actually mean that. But I stopped being able to tell the difference a long time ago.

"Thanks. Where's Margo?  How's she doing?" Patrick looks at me.

"She's still at work, but she's been good too. Seems all she does lately is work. But we make up for it." My husband laughs. I keep from gagging.

"Bet so. You should have her call me later. I'd love to talk to her." Pat says.

"Will do. Talk later." John hangs up.

"Douche." I mutter. Lynol wraps an arm around me.

"Scary thing is," Pat says, "Had you not been sitting here, I would have believed him."

"He's good at excuses." I agree. He starts to answer but his eyes lock on something at the gate. I look and see a mid height blonde girl. Shes in jeans and a white dressy blouse. A cop.

"I'll handle this." I say and get up. Probably shouldn't be calling shots in THEIR club but. This could be about me too.

"If you're here for your lawyer friend I already told her my answer." I snap.

"Im not. Im here as a kind of courtesy." The blonde says.

"Courtesy?" I scuff.

"I can't believe Ketlz threatened you yesterday. That was way out of line. I don't know what got into her." Pat's Dick

"But Im not here for that. You guys, or your boyfriend and his club, rather, have a problem. A girl has filed a rape charge. Against Hook." she says. Who the fuck is Hook? I give her a confused look. "Kale." She clarifies.

I open the gate for her. Lynol gets up and doesn't look too happy with me. "You have a problem." I tell him.

"What wrong?" He doesn't look mad anymore. Mood swings.

"A woman came in last night and told us that she had just been raped by Hook from the Holy Rebels MC." Mrs. Detective repeats to the club.

Ed comes back out.

"I did what?" Kale jumps up from the table.

"Where were you last night kale?" I ask him.

The look he gives me is one of absolute shock. "Here until about 9 then I went home." He spits.

"Can anyone vouch for that?" The questions are hard to ask but they're better from me than her.

"My SON!" Well, that not helpful at all. I exhale.

"You can't believe I did this!" But he doesn't sound certain.

"Of course not, Kale. But these are the questions they are going to ask you when they arrest you. When they do, you ask for a fucking attorney. Don't say shit. No smart ass remarks or anything. I'll handle this." I turn do the detective.

"I wanna speak to her. The 'victim'." I don't make it sound like she has any room for argument. "You don believe her either, or you wouldn't have come to tell me. This is that crazy bitch's idea." Im gonna kick that bitch in the face. The detective takes a deep breath and nods.

After I throw a sweater on over my yoga pants, the detective makes a call and sets up a meet. We meet her at a little diner. One I remember applying to but they took one look at Lynol and his cut. Asshole.

A petite brunette in a waitress apron is sitting at a counter looking anxious. "Andy." the detective says. Andy looks over and smiles at us.

"Detective Blake. Is everything ok? Have you arrested him?" Her eyes are wide.

"5 minutes ago." What! she didn't tell me. I hope that brute listens to me.

"We're just here to go over your statement again." I tell her.

"This is Detective Margo Tanner with us from Ohio." Blake chooses her words wisely.

"Oh." Andy nods.

"Start from the beginning and tell me everything. Even if you think its not important or if you think it will get you in trouble or make us doubt you. Everything, ok?" I use the voice I do with all my victims. Even with this one whose full of crap.

She starts from the beginning saying he was waiting for her when she got off work and wanted to hook up like they had a couple of times before. But some things she says don't add up and she sounds like shes rehearsed it all before. Like she was told what to say it.

"You're sure it was Hook?" I ask her. She nods. I take deep breath.

"You now he has a baby right? A little boy? With no mother. If Kale gets put away that little boy will have no one." I inform her. Her eyes grow wider.

"You're with them! I've seen you with the president! You're Lynol's old lady! And a cop! I take it back. I'll recant! I promise. Hook never touched me!" She quickly and clumsily gets up and holds her hands out in front of her as if to keep her safe from me. I do my best to ignore her old lady comment.

I try to assure her nothing would happen and that wasn't why I was here. But she scrams off. "I didnt mean for that."

Blake shrugs at me. "At least you got the truth. Even if she doesn't recant, we have reasonable doubt for the jury. I'll take you back." she grabs her jacket and leads me out.

Lynol is waiting for me when I get back. "I took care of it. They should be releasing him in the morning." I yawn. All that work has me tired.

"Seriously?" He looks at Blake for confirmation as if I would lie.

"She was a lying bitch and your girl here scared the truth out of her. Nice work, Tanner." Blake waves before leaving.

After she leaves, I stand there awkwardly not know what I say. Lynol grabs me and jerks me to him before planting his lips on mine.

"I am so fucking  hard right now." He growls.
