With the resources being depleted at a rapid pace. King Gregory III waged war on every Country in order to monopolize and control the expense of resources. Most of them thought that he had gone mad. After all, there are Sixteen Countries on Marya if they were to unite the Borin Kingdom would stand no chance.
But uniting the Countries was easier said than done. With the limited resources these proud Nations were bound to fight for it creating enmity between them. King Gregory exploited this when he waged war on everyone. Seven years ago, when King Gregory III was still just a Crown Prince he had already laid out a foundation and made preparations to win the war.
He displayed a neutral stance whenever there was a gathering with the other Nations. He made every Nation think that he was docile, that he was harmless. Meanwhile, while they were thinking that he placed spies in every Country so that he could monitor all of their movements. He made everyone believe that he was like his father King Gregory II who was known for his gentle rule. He wasn't weak, he was just content with the current standing of Borin Kingdom.
He didn't have any ambition about subjugating the other Country. There was balance after all, if he were to start a war now the balance would crumble and the Borin Kingdom might lose everything. King Gregory II was confident in winning the war he was after all a King and to be a King you need absolute confidence in whatever you do so that others would follow you.
The only thing that worried him was what would happen after the war. After all, to govern every Country on Marya he needed absolute Authority and to achieve it he needed absolute Power! Who in their right mind would actually submit to someone who was known for his gentleness? He also wouldn't last much longer, he only has another 10 years to live. If the war were to last longer than 10 years he would surely die first giving their enemies a big opportunity to strike.
The lifespan of humans on Gaia before the mutation occurred was 80-95 years old and after the mutation their lifespan was extended to 105-120 years old. He was already 50 years old and was also suffering from a 'curse'.
The Borin bloodline had a peculiar body condition where 3 out of 10 children born with the Borin blood would be born inhuman. Having an extremely strong body and long endurance during their early childhood until their late Thirties. After their late Thirties their bodies would deteriorate at a much faster pace than that of other people. So the lifespan of those who inherited this condition would be shortened. They would only live up to 50-60 years old. Much shorter than those before the mutation. It was their gift and also their curse.
Only those with this condition knew this information. Others believe that they have hereditary sickness passed down from parent to child. So they didn't make a big deal out of it. 'The strength and long endurance must be because of the medicine that they take in order to battle the disease'. They thought. Some even coveted this 'miracle drug' or so they called it. But none of them ever succeeded in obtaining it. After all, it doesn't exist.
This 'curse' was named 'Falseth', it was derived from the ancient language their ancestors used. Which means…
'False Hope'
Gifting one great strength to cleave trees in half, gifting one great endurance to run up and down a mountain without getting tired. Making one believe he could be a hero, that he could live a glorious life only to have it taken away when he was at the peak and prime of his life… to have power but have no time… to have great ambition only to die young without achieving anything… truly….giving one a 'false hope'...
Once in a blue moon, a child will be born with a 'Valan Physique', a body condition named after the First King of Borin. Those born with this Physique would have much greater strength and longer endurance than those born with Falseth curse. They were much stronger and could last longer in battle. But having greater strength means having a much heavier price to pay. Those born with the Valan Physique only live up to 30 years old. Their symptoms of deterioration will show much earlier. It will show when they hit 20 years old. There were only Six people recorded with this Physique.
The first was the Founder and First King of Borin, King Valan Borin, the one who fought for the richest land where the Borin Kingdom was built. The second was the Third King, Boris Borin who founded the Lion Legion, the greatest army in the world. The third was the First Queen to ever rule the Kingdom Freeda Borin, because her husband the Fifth King died quite early. Then the Seventh Princess who was the daughter of the Ninth King. There was also the bastard son of the Thirteenth King Vince Borin, who was said to be the worst King to ever rule the Kingdom. The last one was King Gregory Borin I, the father of King Gregory Borin II and grandfather of King Gregory Borin III.
All these people wanted to unite and conquer the Marya Continent, especially King Boris Borin who established the strongest Legion in the world. Alas, he died at the age of 29. All the next one who inherited the Valan Physique after him learned from him and just lived their life to the fullest, some even lived in seclusion like King Gregory I who passed down his position to his son who was only 13 years old at that time.
King Gregory II always regretted being born with this curse that was why he maintained the peace and harmony with the other Nation so that when he died. His family and the people of Borin would be able to grow in peace…
But it all changed on King Gregory III's 20th birthday. That was the day when ambition burned in a fiery blaze within his eyes. Whenever he looked at his son he could not help but clench his fist. He could almost see it…
His son standing on the top of the world gazing at the world below with arrogance. Looking down on the people bowing their heads paying respect to the King!
He knew that the time had come for them to conquer Marya… the Borin Kingdom, No! The Borin Empire shall rule for all of eternity!
When King Gregory II turned 55 years old, he passed down his position to King Gregory III Who had just turned 27 years old. The ceremony this time wasn't as extravagant as the previous one when King Gregory II ascended to power.
Before, all the other Nations were invited to attend the ceremony. But this time only Three were invited, they were the closest and most trusted ally of Borin. After a few days after the ceremony, a royal decree was sent to every Country. It states that those who would not submit and would resist the Borin Kingdom…
will be annihilated.
This decree Ignited the Flames of War! The war that will be known as The Majesty War.
The first thing that every Nations did was verify the authenticity of the decree. The Rulers of each Countries sent their most trusted aide to the Borin Kingdom to know if it was true. They would've gone there themselves but if turned out to be true then they would die the moment they stepped on the Kingdoms territory. So to avoid this they sent their most trusted aide.
.
.
.
Days passed and no sign of the aides can be seen. Panic was creeping on their hearts.
The Rulers can't help slamming their tables out of frustration because they have all been deceived. The docile and harmless looking Prince was actually a Tiger disguised as a sheep.
They only realized the reality of their situation when a head was delivered to them from the Borin Kingdom. The head belonged to the soldiers that they sent to verify the decree. Their worst fear actually came true! The moment they received it they immediately prepared for war. Especially those who were the closest to the Kingdom.
But their preparation came to a sudden halt when they heard the sound of marching. Heavy footsteps can be heard from miles away as if giants were making their way to their place. On every border of the Three Countries that was closest to the Kingdom, rows and rows of soldiers can be seen facing them. They were all neatly in place. One can see the discipline that these soldiers have, they all move like one entity. They were all wearing Golden Eroditium Armor, it was paired with a red poncho that had a lion head with open mouth embroidered at the back. Eroditium was the hardest substance or the hardest material on Gaia. It was quite rare, so to think that all of these Borin Soldiers would be wearing armors made out of it. It can only mean that these soldiers belong to the most powerful Legion, The Lion Legion. On their waist a cross sword can be seen hanging. While on their hands, big rifle guns were being carried. Heavy armored tanks can be seen on the frontlines while the heavy artillery were placed behind the soldiers. Flying ships can be seen making their way through the clouds. Their destination?
The war zone.
