The next day we woke up early to explore the dungeon. The first 7 floors were easily cleared by me and Sherry as the vanguard. We also collected magic stones dropped by monsters. The corpses were absorbed by the dungeon and turned into mana. Azar told us to be careful of traps. The traps were detected by Elle but we were told to be specially careful of the monster room. Monster rooms were places that emerged in the dungeon on random floors. It had a treasure chest but it was filled with monsters. Getting caught in a monster room would mean certain death for beginners. Fortunately, we didn't encounter any monster room. From the 8th floor onward Lauren was the vanguard as we were faced by an ogre which had a strong physical attack and neither I nor Sherry had a high physical defense. Lauren did the aggro while Elle dealt the final blow. In only a span of a few hours, we managed to clear all the floors up to 10 and only the boss was left.
We took a short break before entering the boss room while checking our equipment. The boss room was different from the other floors it was a huge tomb-like place while the floors only had narrow tunnels. According to the information, we had gained earlier the boss was an Ogre king. It was huge and much larger and bulky compared to a normal ogre. While normal Ogre had a club as a weapon, He had a huge Saber. Lauren pulled the aggro and Sherry boosted his defense while boosting our attacks. I and Kira started chanting. Azar attacked it upfront but was countered and pushed back. Kira sneaked behind him and used back-stab but it hard grazed through his body. It understood that we were chanting so instead of hitting Lauren head-on he kicked him on the left side. He was blown away and hit the wall. The Ogre charged straight at me. While I was chanting I didn't realize what had happened. Before I could act the ogre was in front of me but Sherry came in front of me and received the attack in place of me. We finished the chanting for firestorm. The Orge king was enveloped in fire but it soon came out with only his outer skin burnt. Sherry had a gasping wound on her chest and was coughing blood. Lauren was unconscious. Kira was low on mana and was taking a potion. Azar and Elle too were exhausted.
(Shit! Dragging it any longer won't be good.)
"Ashilde" Ash turned into katana and sliced the ogre king like butter.
"Sherry" I rushed to her. She was breathing heavily and had lost a lot of blood. I gave her a large heath potion and a medium mana potion. After taking them, she used healing magic on herself and then the others.
I felt guilty. I knew that if I had used my full power defeating the ogre king would have been no big dealt but I instead decided to hide it which led to many people being injured. Somewhere in my heart, I was not able to trust them fully.
At that time I remembered what mom had once told me "a person can never survive alone so they stick together and hold onto each other which becomes the ray of hope in the darkest times."
I apologized to them for not acting earlier. They forgave me without even wasting a sweat. I thought that when I go for the journey I would find myself a party who I can wholeheartedly entrust my life like them.
After we were out of the dungeon I thanked Sherry for saving me. She tried to hide it but I knew that she was happy about it. Although I still couldn't forget what she had done to me, there was still some improvement between us.
They later asked me" what was that weapon it was strong but gave an eerie feeling"
They hadn't noticed Ash turning into the sword so I lied to them saying"dad gave me that sword I never knew it was that strong" I didn't tell them about Ash which was once an evil sword for their good as they might get involved with evil people wanting the sword.
When we exited the dungeon it was already dusk. Everyone was tired so we camped out at night and departed for home the next day.
