"The thing inside my soul?!"
"Yes. The soul is the spiritual projection of your body and mind. Inside it, there are various lights. The color and size of light decide the elemental affinity. When I first entered your soul it was normal but when I was about to take over there was suddenly a little spark of divine power which threw you out. I can't understand why does a human have divine power"
"That..."
"I understand if you don't want to tell a suspicious person like me."
"..."
"But Zack-sama I want to serve you. You who had brought me out of the eternal darkness is my master. If you are okay with me then I will become the blade to cut down your enemies."
"...from now on your name shall be Ashilde. The one who fights the god."
"I like it" She flew up into the air and turned into a sword but this time the broad sword changed into a black katana.
"Why did it change into a katana"
"The souls of the master and familiar are connected and the sword changes into the size or shape which suits master the best."
"Ohh is that so"
There was an awkward silence. Mum and dad had not said anything in between.
"Wasn't your decision to take her in a bit rushed. She had tried to kill you before should you be a little more reserved towards her."
What mom was saying was correct but I don't know why maybe because of the contract I somehow felt that I could trust Ashilde. Maybe she and I had been similar. We both had felt the emptiness in our lives. That was why I could trust her.
"Sigh! Well if it's your final decision then it can be helped. Just be careful."
My eyes filled with tears in joy. I was very happy that they didn't oppose it. "Thanks, mom"
"Then what do we do about our house," Dad said spoiling the mood.
Mom turned to me and said" Zack you, why did you have to destroy the house.
"Soorry mom!" I ran away from there with Ashilde in my hand and a smile on the face.
It had been a few days since then. We had been living at Sherry's place. Although at first, we tried to refuse their offer, at last, we decided to stay there. Sherry had also been trying to talk to me but I just ignored her.
Ashilde decided to stay in the cat form as the sword form was uncomfortable. She said that to change her into a blade I just had to call her name. So we decided to call her as ash normally.
I also got a few new skills from the Ashilde. First was πππππ-ππππππππππππ. It was an upgraded version of πππππππππππ. It healed faster and required less mp. Then I got a passive trait, π²ππππ πππππππππ. It reduced the size of the chant to invoke the spell. Ash had told me that just like a wand acted as a catalyst in invoking spells, the sword could also act as a catalyst not being a wand as she was a senior spirit.
For the next few months, I had trained rigorously. I didn't go hunting in these few months. Very soon I had also made myself accustomed to using Ashilde.
