Chapter 5 - Let Me Be Your Disciple

"He really is human."

The general kept that in his head while Zomarus' screams came to an end. It seemed that he had passed out from blood loss.

Sister Ione was actually the only one who made her way towards Zomarus and helped him up. With her strength, she picked him up and started to carry him into the academy where she could fix him up.

Most of the students were still shaken up from the incident, but that wasn't going to stop their important training.

"Don't let this little hiccup hinder your training. During the war, this situation will happen very often. So if you can not deal with this then you will never be fit to battle."

The general acted as nothing happened and continued to pick students to go up against one another. After that incident students were sure to be extra careful knowing that something like that could happen to any of them.

While the other students were being careful and stunned. Lurtar and his group of goons only laughed and joked about it.

Iva didn't show any emotion and continued to watch the other battles, but inside she was worried about him and the outcome of the battle. Tura on the other hand made her emotions clear as she started to run after Sister Ione and Zomarus.

~~~~~
Several hours had passed since the training incident between Zomarus and Tura.
When Zomarus awoke he found himself in the dim classroom as the light from the sunset covered the room. It was quite beautiful but Zomarus could not take in the moment since his shoulder was aching.
"God! My shower is killing me."
Zomarus grabbed his shoulder when a spike of pain came from it and filtered all around his body. The pain was worse than anything he had ever experienced and almost made him shout once again.
He looked around the empty room and found two bags laying down next to the door. One of the bags was his but the other could have belonged to anyone since he didn't know who it belonged to.
Any longer and he was going to be in trouble for saying inside the classroom so late. He grabbed his bag and placed it over his good shoulder while making his way out of the room.
Right before he was about to place his hand on the door handle, the door flew open and a beautiful girl stood on the other side of it. Zomarus lost his balance and fell on the ground, and with his fall came a slight pain on his shoulder.
"I'm so sorry. Are you okay? I didn't think you were going to be on the other side of the door."
The soft voice came from the same girl who had injured him some time ago. However, the atmosphere was different inside the room than before. The sunset light made Tura look more beautiful than she did when they once fought.
"It's okay! I just didn't expect it. I should have been paying more attention, to be honest."
Zomarus gave her a cute smile which made his face turn red. He was feeling extremely embarrassed that he looked away and held onto his shoulder.
Tura looked at his embarrassment and let out a little giggle. She grabbed a couple of bandages and held them close to her chest.
"Actually, I've been looking after you. I was the one who's been changing your bandages while you were passed out."
After she spoke she bowed down to him, "so please let me take care of you as an apology for what I did in the battlefield earlier."
"Sure!"
Zomarus nodded his head as he began to take off his top. He slowly took off his top exposing his chest. He was fit but not a six-pack abs fix.
Tura helped him remove his bloody bandages. In his shoulder was a hole where the arrow once was. The wound was so deep that it was surprising that it had not gone through him.
As Tura cleaned his wound Zomarus had a little smile on his face and started to chuckle to himself. Tura was quite confused about why he was so happy while having a hole in his shoulder.
"Are you okay? Hopefully, it doesn't hurt you. I'll be done in a minute or two, just fight through it."
"It's not that. I'm just thinking about how strong you are. If I hadn't tried to deflect the arrow heading at me I would be dead right now. Your power is truly amazing."
Zomarus looked up at her with a big smile and chucked a little more.
Tura was surprised to hear him praise her so much. Hundreds of people before him had told her how she needed to get stronger. She needed to be stronger or she would be a disappointment to the family.
After his small compliment Tura had broken down. She had been waiting for these words all her life. And now she began to cry in front of him. She wished for the tears to be gone but no one had answered her prayers as she kept crying.
"Are you alright? Don't cry I'm sorry if I said anything to offend you."
Zomarus was worried so he placed his hand on her shoulder and pulled her close to comfort her. He soon began to hug her and placed his hand over her head and let her cry on him.
"It's okay to cry. Even the strongest of us are allowed to cry. Without crying we wouldn't know how much we really cared about something."
The more Zomarus comforted Tura the more she cried. She didn't realize how much people's words hurt but Zomarus kept her at ease with his.
At that exact moment, the door flew open to reveal Sister Ione staring at the two. It was the worst possible time to enter the room since all she saw was Zomarus holding a girl as she was crying.
"What do you think you're doing to one of my students, Zomarus? If you do not unhand her I'll knock you out again."
Sister Ione held Tura's arm pulling her away from the young man.
"It's okay Sister Ione. These are just tears of joy."
Tura's eyes were red from all the crying but her smile and eyes told the entire story. That she was happy for that moment with him.
Sister Ione glared at Zomarus almost telling him to get lost before she began to beat him with a ruler.
Zomarus looked away from the eyes of Sister Ione and noticed he still didn't have a top on. Now it began to look even worse for him as he grabbed his shirt and ran out of the room.
Now outside the classroom, he finally put his top and walked around the school. The sun was still up and about to go down. He then decided once the moon came out he would train this shadow element. On his way out the building, he was stopped by a loud and powerful voice.
"Zomarus, would you please come back and have a nice conversation with me."
The strong and powerful voice was from the army general, Yi Qin. The general stood in the middle of the hallway as he made his way into an empty room.
Once Zomarus entered the room only he and the general were inside. He sat on top of a desk and looked down at the young boy.
"I just wanted to apologize for what happened earlier in the day. If I had known you were the human that attended the academy I wouldn't have chosen you to fight. However, since you were being very disrespectful I had to punish you."
At this moment Zomarus didn't know what to say. He didn't know if the general was apologizing to him or teaching him a lesson. Zomarus stood there in silence, and since he didn't know how to respond he just looked up at him and nodded.
"Do not worry boy. I'm not here to give you trouble. I only asked you here to ask a simple question. The battle earlier, how did you manage to dodge that arrow? It is hard for one to move their body's motion in midair. How did you do it?"
The General was being serious and wanted to understand how an unranked god could manage that.
The room came to a deep silence as Zomarus was remembering his battle with Tura. The exact moment that she shot the arrow his body moved by itself and he couldn't remember how. It was like the motion just came naturally to him in some odd way.
"I.. I don't know. It was like my body had done it itself. Power just flew into my body and it knew what to do at that exact moment in time."
Zomarus answered the general as he looked at his hand and could not feel the power he once had. That power was different from his shadow element that he felt before with Iva.
The general remembered when the boy dodged the arrow, the glow in his eyes, and the power that entered his soul space. He had only sensed that kind of energy from someone else in battle years ago.
"Well, it looks like we're done here. You're still weak, you need to not give up on training and take it seriously. Without being strong this horrible world will eat you up from the inside out."
The general bid a good day to the boy and exited the room to leave Zomarus all alone inside.
In the room, Zomarus stood alone as he looked up into the ceiling with determination in his soul. The general was right, if he wanted to survive in this world he would need to get stronger. But with enough training, he could be as powerful as the general one day.
There was a day where he would become even more powerful. Zomarus exited the room and started to run after the general. Once he reached him he shouted out to him.
"General Yi Qin, please. Let me be your disciple."
The tone in his voice was as serious as it could be and he awaited an answer from the god.
"I'm sorry kid, but you're still too weak. You're not strong enough to be my disciple."
The general then turned around and continued to walk away. However, instead of running away Zomarus stood tall and yelled out towards the god.
"Just wait. Wait and see, I'll become stronger and then you'll have to take me in as your disciple. You'll see."
His tone was the same as earlier and that was of someone who was truly up to the challenge. The general didn't say anything to him as he walked off with only a smile on his face.
Zomarus looked at the general as he walked off. He could feel the amount of godly energy coming from him and hoped that he could have just a fraction of his soon to be masters.
He stood in the hallway with the sunset light bouncing off his face as a smile came from his face. Furthermore, at the other end of the hallway stood Iva. Iva stood there and had a smile on her face as she saw Zomarus accept the challenge.
