Warning: 1. the bl is pretty light and won't be a big part of the story 2. This novel is more of me just trying to spread my wings or practice as I haven't written anything in so long. Chapter 1 - The Start Of A Revive

Adjusting his glasses Omori Kohaku frowned. All the people were all in such a hurry. And with the sheer amount of people on the sidewalk one could barely move.

At the moment he was sent on errands to gather decorations for his twin sister's birthday party. But in the middle of doing so, he was called back by his father.

Did his parents really forget he was her twin? Were they blinded by her sheer "brilliance"? Or simply forgot about the trash? Sighing, Kohaku crossed the street. This was so stressful.

" Kid watch out!" a woman's voice said in a panic.

" Eh?" Turning around a sudden force sent Kohaku sprawling across the floor.

There was so much screaming from other people. Out of the corner of his blurred eyes, he spotted the car that hit him come to a stop.

He was happy that for once people cared about him and all. But why couldn't he die in peace eh? Blinking twice his eyelids soon grew heavy as the world plunged into darkness. As Kohaku drifted off he wondered if they would remember his birthday.

Damn though, what was this bright light? Lifting his hands to cover his eyes he froze. He was still able to move? Wait a minute. Uncovering his eyes, he was once blasted with the light. Shutting his eyes he sat up. Opening his eyes again he gave a glance to the rest of his body and he frowned. Where was the blood? Staggering onto his feet he looked around. He seemed to be in the clouds. Was this heaven? Shaking his head Kohaku looked down at his feet to notice a yellow brick road under him.

" Follow the yellow brick road to somewhere I guess….." he mumbled reluctantly, following the path.

As Kohaku started on the road a small voice could be heard catching up to him. Turning around in confusion a small object rammed into his face. Stumbling, he righted himself as he rubbed his forehead.

" So sorry! Amazingly sorry! I didn't think you would turn around that quickly and all-" muttering to himself he looked to the source of the fast-flowing voice.

It was a bird. A blue jay to be precise. The bird was struggling to keep afloat as it held a clipboard in its talons, bobbing up and down. The poor thing looked like it was about to plummet to the ground any moment from the sheer weight of it. But why are there talking birds in "heaven"?

" Oh, what am I saying! I always do this I'm such an idiot! If I had looked I might've not hit you! Just take the clipboard and once again so sorry... " Taking hold of the clipboard the bird let out a huff and glided to the ground.

Kohaku was startled as a pen with little wings flew into one of his hands as soon as he touched the board. He shook his head in wonder. Squinting at the words he realized the words weren't of any language he knew. Still, he inspected the symbols even though he knew he couldn't read them.

It was a shame that he wouldn't be able to know if he was selling his kidneys or something. Yes, this was probably some sort of afterlife but one can never be too suspicious. Scribbling his signature he lightly waved the clipboard in the blue jay's face.

" Thank you. Just carry on….. and please don't look at me like that too, I'm very sorry!" confused he questioned what the bird was thinking as he was only looking at it.

Flying up it grabbed on to the top of the clipboard with its talons. Flapping its wings harder it gave something that looked like a pained smile.

" Just follow the path and you should find my master," it mumbled as it flew away in staggering circles.

" Hey wait-" he said but hesitated. Scratching his head, he kept walking as the bird was already gone.

Walking the path he silently cursed the builder of the path as it was so long ( in his standards ). Being the introvert he was, the highest of energy he spent was on walking to the fridge.

As he slightly dragged his feet he wondered at the mysterious blue jay. Yes, the bird could talk, but why did it seem like it was an overworked secretary who tried it's best to hide the pain and coffee? Tapping the side of his cheek with his right index finger he slowed down to a patter.

He often did this when he was thinking or stressed. He wasn't thinking about the blue jay but more about his life. Sure his life was sucky, but at least it was livable. But now he wouldn't know how his life would play out. At least nobody would miss him.

Stopping he looked up and realized there was a fork in the path. In the middle of the fork was a random work desk. Behind the desk sitting was a good looking man with black hair. At the moment he was laying his head on the desk. The man didn't have the expected angel wings or halo but had big cat ears. Kohaku frowned, so heaven accepted furries?

" Sir please get up. The rabbit has arrived," looking closer he realized the familiar tired voice was from the blue jay. Taking a closer look he found it was currently pecking the man's head.

" Hm? But doesn't sister Ren get all the participants?" The man mumbled as he lifted his head revealing a grin and dimmed dark blue eyes.

Yawning, he stretched his arms out and got out of his chair. He was wearing an outfit oddly similar to a butler. The bird flew up and whispered something into the man's cat ear.

" I guess I'll ignore this is probably a mistake then. Let's start the first mission-" walking around the desk he stopped.

Kohaku froze as he watched the man having a certain problem called "gay panic".

" S-sir I don't think he knows what's happening…." stuttered the bird interrupting the man. The man's cat ear twitched as he glared at the bird.

" I thought I told you to tell him," adjusting the cuffs of his outfit as he frowned. The bird slowly flew back to the desk lightly landing on it puffing up its feathers in a defeated expression.

Kohaku was struggling on either if he should say something or not. Thinking for a moment he decided to not.

The man looked at Kohaku making him flinch. Looking away to break eye contact Kohaku didn't know what was going to happen. Out of the corner of his eye, he noticed the man was leaning on the desk having a slight smile.

" Well since Blu didn't tell you, I'll tell you," he mumbled, snapping his fingers causing a wooden chair to appear next Kohaku. The man nodded toward it for Kohaku to sit.

" Everyone dies. It happens fast and sometimes slow. When people die they either go to heaven or hell. Very simple." he started, his eyes unfocused.

"The problem is since everything dies both heaven and hell can get crowded. So a system was created where everything has a chance to be reincarnated. You will go to different dimensions and complete tasks. The thing or person will take over somebody's body to take out the task. Tasks can be as simple as saying sorry to a person or as complicated as taking over a planet." Pausing for a moment he looked over to Kohaku to confirm if he was getting this. Kohaku nodded.

"Completing tasks will give you Revive Points. Depending on how well you completed it the amount of Revive points varies. When you get enough Revive Points you can reincarnate." Looking back at Blu who was pouting on the desk the man whistled.

" Any questions?" The man said as Blu flew to his shoulder looking worried. Muttering under his breath the bird wings drooped a bit as it listened to him. Having a deadpan face on the bird returned to the desk looking very sad.

"I was wondering-" Kohaku started.

" None? Good! Now after that info dump, let's get you into your first mission," The man interrupted in a happy voice. Snapping his fingers Kohaku suddenly felt like he was falling. Closing his eyes and waiting for the impact he had a strange feeling of the story the cat told him was true.

" Hey, Satoshi, are you ok? that was a nasty fall," a soft voice asked sounding genuinely worried. Opening his eyes he realized he was sitting on the ground in an alleyway with a young man sitting next to him. The person was fidgeting with something that looked like it was attached to their school uniform. He had short blonde hair with an innocent face. His figure was quite slim as if one merely blew on him he would fly away.

" Yeah, I'm ok…." since he replaced this person it was better not to be suspicious.

" That's a very good idea rabbit!" startled Satoshi jumped up from the familiar voice.

" You sure? We don't have to head to the library," the young man said standing up with Satoshi.

" I'm fine, I'm fine. You can go on without me though, I'll catch up," Satoshi said trying to reassure the stranger. Nodding his head the stranger walked out of the alleyway. The boy stopped, he looked unsure as he glanced back before walking out of sight. Sighing Satoshi shot a glare over to the cat-eared man who as floating in the air nearby.

" Why are you here?" questioned Satoshi.

" Oops seems like I forgot to tell! Each participant gets a host who will help you with the tasks!" The man said smiling slyly. Pinching the bridge of his nose Satoshi held back a sigh.

" Anything else you left out?" Satoshi grumbled getting annoyed by the mysterious man.

" I guess I should tell you the world this mission takes place and your task," the man said to himself sitting crisscrossed in the air.

" This place is similar to earth, the body you have inhabited is Kai Satoshi, the "protagonist". How the story of this world goes is that you will eventually meet both the female lead and male lead and they get infatuated with you. Sadly for Kai, the path can go on three paths. Kai will follow the female lead who eventually gets very possessive of you and kidnaps you. And well, forces you to only love her." hearing this Satoshi face scrunched up.

"The other path Kai will follow the male lead. The male lead separates you from all others by some other means making you emotionally believe he is the only one. And when any other person even talked to you he "took care of them"," Kohaku tapped his cheek. The male route actually sounded better.

" And the final path is Kai breaks either the male lead or female's lead heart and dies because of the " If I can't have them nobody can" philosophy. So your task is to not follow any routes and get a good ending for poor Kai!" the man finished looking at Kohaku playfully.

" But can't I just avoid both of them?" Kohaku asked.

" Well, you can't because that's how the story is supposed to play out," the man said lightly landing on the ground. Kohaku sighed, walking out of the alleyway.

*RYUU POV*

Ryuu smiled, it was fun playing with this participant. This one was quite cute as in the way that you would want to hug him. Short light brown hair, amber eyes, and a youthful face. The youth was a bit short and had a nimble figure. He did remind Ryuu of a rabbit. Ryuu's smile grew wider. He wondered if he should tell the youth that thing or wait until it was the last minute. Oh well! Following Kohaku, he hummed a tune.
