" I don't want to start THAT cliche, and I much rather break it so you would miss the entire day of school. But you're late for school Omori," Ryuu said in his cat form, trying to wake Kohaku up.
" One more-" Kohaku mumbled into his pillow. Before he could say the whole phrase Ryuu sank his cat claws into the bedsheets, Kohaku jumped out of bed.
" Don't you DARE, I know what you were about to say, SO NO. NOW GET YOUR LAZY ASS OUT OF BED AND INTO THAT HELL CALLED SCHOOL!" Ryuu yowled, strutting out of the room.
Kohaku rubbed his now bleeding arm and frowned.
" Do cats get periods?"
Ryuu was sitting on the dining table and still inhabited the cat body when Satoshi entered the room. Ryuu flicked his tail in acknowledgment toward a bowl of pho.
" But Ryuu aren't we late?" said Satoshi staring at the bowl.
" You can eat and run right?" Ryuu huffed, his tail waving back and forth in irritation.
" But what do I do with the-" Satoshi started then stopped as Ryuu glared at him before jumping off the table and walking toward the front door. Satoshi sighed as he picked up the bowl of pho.
" Try keeping yourself stable!" Ryuu said sprinting next to Satoshi. It was immensely hard to keep his footing and not spill the pho and using the chopstick to eat. But the duo eventually reached school ground.
" Ryuu...I was.....going....to ask... what to do...with the bowl," Satoshi said struggling to breathe.
Ryuu: 'Simple, put it on the ground.'
Satoshi reluctantly put the bowl down, staring at Ryuu.
Ryuu glanced at Satoshi before headbutting the bowl causing it to break into small pieces.
" What if somebody-" Satoshi started.
Ryuu: 'No worries, just worry about yourself.' ヽ(￣ω￣(._. )ゝ
Satoshi sighed before stepping into the school. The bell had already rung so all the students were heading to their class.
" Satoshi, I stopped by your house but I didn't see you! Did you sleep in or something?" Looking around he realized it was Oka who said that.
" Yeah...sorry if I worried you," Satoshi said with an aloof expression.
"It's fine-" Sho started.
" Hey, Satoshi, my "friend". Come here for a moment," an arrogant voice cut in. Stopping in his tracks Satoshi smiled coldly at the people.
Apparently these people were the ones who caused the incident that happened before Kohaku replaced Satoshi.
Walking toward them, one of the girls standing with them looked at him with disgust.
" Why don't we have a hangout after school buddy?" One of the bigger members of the group said as he grabbed his shoulder hard. Satoshi grinned like a Cheshire cat.
" It be will fun, right?" asked Satoshi is a monotone voice with. The person visibly stiffened before shoving Satoshi away.
The bullies snickered as they walked away.
" Are you ok? What did they ask?" Sho said in a small voice after running up to Satoshi's left side.
" I'm better than ever, and they just asked me to play with them," Satoshi said with a smile. As he walked away Sho stood planted.
" Play huh?" the corner of his mouth curled up in mockery before he followed Satoshi.
Sliding the door open all of the students were sprinkled about in their respective groups and talking. Satoshi silently slid into a chair before hanging his school bag on the corner of his chair.
" I remember you....." the classroom fell silent as they waited for him to respond. Satoshi looked up to see the female lead.
" You were the girl from the library? Sorry about abandoning you then...." he said stiffly with an awkward smile.
Ryuu: ' I rate this situation 10/10 in awkwardness' (=`ω´=)
Looking at the window to his left in the tree outside was a tuxedo cat sitting. Satoshi clenched his hands into a fist under the desk.
" How about after school I take you to the library and recommend some manga?" she offered.
" The Queen bothered to ask meer trash to meet her?"
" I want to be in his shoes so bad,"
" What's so special bout him!"
And other whispers spread like wildfire in the small classroom.
" I have to decline. After school, I need to meet up with some " friends"," Satoshi said trying to sound as polite as possible.
" I bet he thinks he's better than her!"
"He doesn't have the right to decline her,"
" I would-"
On and on the whispers went. his fingernails started digging into his palm. He knew it would have serious consequences, but he felt like breaking someone's neck.
Breathe in, breathe out.
" Oh, ok then!" the female lead smiled before sitting in the seat in front of him. Finally, the teacher walked in. As the lesson went on all the sounds faded away. Taking deep breaths to calm himself he imagined himself in a white room.
It made him feel safe. Like there nothing. Nothing in the world to hurt him.
Classes passed quickly and soon the first day of school was over. Groaning he remembered he had to pay a visit to the assholes. It was a pain, but he had to do it so he would activate Keji's first event. Walking out of school he followed the sidewalk to his " favorite" alleyway."
" Hey rabbit, you seem really out of it. Even though I couldn't hear your conversation with the female lead I bet it went WONDERFUL!" chimed Ryuu with a cheerful expression threading in and out of the feet of passersby. Stopping Satoshi saw the group of bullies snickering in the alleyway.
" Stay here Ryuu," mumbled Satoshi. Ryuu inwardly frowned as he wanted to watch the show, but he decided against it and waited there.
As they noticed Satoshi they started creating a circle around him. The person who shoved him broke away from the circle, sneering.
" I heard at school my little Kiyoko asked you out on a " date", why she asked trash like you is a mystery," the bully said, glaring holes into Satoshi.
" And you had the balls to DECLINE her? That's kinda funny...." the people around him started snickering.
" So for my sweet Kiyoko I'll-" the bully started.
He started tapping his cheek before his eyes lit up.
" Look I'm on a tight schedule here so let's just get it over with," Satoshi mumbled, interrupting the bully. The bully frowned as Satoshi pulled out a pair of scissors.

*RYUU POV*
Why the hell was the rabbit taking so long? Ryuu's tail was neatly curled around his cute paws as he waited.
As he started drooping off, screams could be heard getting closer to Ryuu. Confused, he sat up to see multiple people bolt out of the alleyway.
What in the world was happening?

*KOHAKU POV*
" You people are a waste of good oxygen," murmured Satoshi silently but loud enough for the bully to hear. At the moment Satoshi was standing over the bully. Pure fear could be seen in the bully's eyes as he cowered against the wall, his eyes darting to the clean scissors in Satoshi's hand.
" Just get lost," Satoshi said, his eyes watching what the bully would do next.
The bully gritted their teeth before scrambling up and bolting out of the alleyway like the rest. Walking nonchalantly out of the alleyway Ryuu was seen having a concerned face on.
Ryuu: ' What did you do,' (￢_￢;)
Kohaku: ' Nothing, I just started waving the pair of scissors around and they all a sudden got scared'
Satoshi giggled a bit before looking for the store.
Ryuu: ' Aren't you supposed to get beaten up?'
Kohaku: ' Aww, my all-knowing host doesn't know?'
Ryuu: ' Yes I don't, now tell me!' (`△´＃)
Kohaku: ' Well in the game yeah, the mc is supposed to get beaten up as there was supposed to be a choice option when the bully called me over to ignore him and not activate his route. But once that situation starts I have already started Keiji's first event. And well I don't have a script anymore for that situation so I can turn the tables.' ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
Satoshi smiled as he entered a small building called " Cherrypop Cafe". He ignored Ryuu's incoherent whining at having to stay outside once again.
Satoshi felt quite content in this cozy atmosphere. In the video game, it was designed to feel like nothing would go wrong and give happiness to the player so they would decide to go on to the male lead's route. And then have the route's ending slap you in the face and say " YOU THOUGHT YOU WOULD GET A HAPPY ENDING".
Smiling anyways to hide the turmoil in him he walked up to the cashier. Sitting behind the cashier was a person with dyed red hair with warm brown eyes. He was pretty tall for his age. He seemed to be drifting off.
Keji was always his favorite love interest. Even though his route was pretty weird, he always replayed it to always see this one scene.
" Hey, sir-" Satoshi started.
" AH! Oh sorry, sorry. What do you want?" Startled awake the male lead showed an awkward smile.
" Chocolate fudge cake slice," Satoshi gave a reassuring smile. Before walking away to find a seat.
Ryuu: ' I was wondering, you know so much about this world, and it sounds like this " game" is some time of romance thing. So were you that lonely?' (-ω- )
Satoshi's smile drooped into a frown.
Ryuu: ' Ah-ha! With my magical senses and how awkward you can get, I can also guess you never once had a friend,'
Kohaku: ' I feel attacked now' (╥_╥)
" Here's your cake," Satoshi looked up to find Kenji had already placed down a cake. Satoshi's eyes brightened up.
" Thanks..." Satoshi murmured as he stared at the chocolate cake with worship in his eyes.
As he pulled the plate closer to devour it he noticed a glimpse of a wrapper. Looking closer he realized it was a chocolate wafer.
It seemed that I was something extra Keiji had given him.
Kohaku: ' AHHHH!! THIS IS WHY YOU'RE MY FAVORITE KEIJI!' Σ>―(〃°ω°〃)♡→
