Harry's day went by quicker than usual. His mood was drastically lighter than usual days. His heart felt as though it could soar.
The people around his noticed the changes, also. Many people who are acquainted with him, or are fairly close, noticed his mood changes. He walked with more pride than usual, receiving glances from many of the surrounding people. Some stared, with envy and shock clear as day in their eyes.
As the day went by quickly, his thoughts were clouded with the girl whom he met in the restaurant. Still remembering her eyes, white as a moon. Harry has never called a woman beautiful, just merely pretty. Although he never meant it.
"Chester," he called his manager. "Prepare the car. We will be leaving to the restaraunt, Alinea, Now."
As Chester was preparing the car for the drive, he wondered what was so important about the girl. If his boss gets attached, he'd have to cut her off. He knew it. Harry has to stay focused on his job so Chester could get his money..
"Ches? Chester! C-H-E-S-S-T-E-R!" Tani, the maid, spelled out his name which brought his attention back down to Earth.
"What is it, Tani?" Chester asked. He was annoyed, he didn't like his thoughts being interrupted. That is why the nighttime is his favorite, and has been since he was a young boy.
Chester Alawaz has been a heartwarming person throughout his lifetime. He helped people in need no matter what position they were in. He was a kind and appreciative person who loved what he had in life and would never ask for more, although would take if they asked. He would never be rude... while talking. His mind, on the other hand, is a different story.
His nature was taken on by his father. His mother had never been there to support him. As soon as he was born, 43 years ago, she left as she had always done. Who knows how many siblings that Chester had. Although the question bugged him in his thoughts, he would never care enough.
"CHESTER! Get out of your head and help me with this!" Tani was currently blowing up a flat tire which he had failed to notice.
"Oh, I'm sorry, dear Tani. I was lost in my thoughts once more." He spoke clearly, rushing over to help Tani.
"You know, you always speak like it's the 1700s. I've read books about it," she added. When he gave her a quizzical look, she rushed to say, "Oh Chester! Not like that! In a good way. You still look young, I mean."
He gave her a small smile and returned on what he was helping her with. The 1700s? Oh come on, I don't look that old. Nor do I speak like that, he thought. Was she crazy?
The hour ride to the restaurant was tense, as Harry was too anxious to notice the atmosphere.
When they arrived, Jinny was about to pack up as she was sure nobody else would be arriving. But what fairly surprised her and her luck, the man whom she had seen yesterday had strutted in the doorway as though he owned the place. He still looked as beautiful as he always has been.
Harry looked around, pleased that there was nobody besides himself, his assistant, and the girl in the room. Jinny paused before she rushed forward, going to get a table for him.
But, to her surprise (and dismay) he held his hand out in front of him, as a sign to stop walking. Jinny fought back the urge to narrow her eyes, but then cocked her eyebrows questioningly.
"Uhm. Hello, sir." She greeted him, she put a forced smile on her lips, still trying to hide the shock and dismay she felt a few seconds ago.
"Hmm... oh? Hello." Harry was amused by her reaction, surprised that she wasn't getting flustered as everyone else.
"Would.. uh.. here, I'll get you a table.." she stuttered. There was no need to stutter, it's just another customer. That's all. On Harry's end, it seems he was wrong. Maybe this just another human. But he immediately doubted that as her moon-white eyes glanced at him.
Just another customer.
Just another customer.
She kept telling herself that in her head, but when Harry waved his hand in front of her face, she snapped out of it.
Shaking her head, as thought to get rid of stray thoughts, she looked back up at him, seeing a small smile on his face.
"Are you going to get me a table, Ms..." Harry peered at her name tag quickly, "Ms. Ballaster?"
She looked down, and nodded. She waved her hand for them to follow. She picked a small table, second to last on the front of the left side of the building. She felt intimidated by his presence. As she walked forward, she started to gain a bit of confidence.
Harry followed silently, gazing at her. She looked beautiful. She also looked intimidating, but her personality said otherwise. From what Harry knows as of right now, she was a small, keep-to-herself type. Not to mention, she's kind and knows how to do her job. Maybe that's why she chose the job, good paying for being kinder than the rest.
As soon as they sat down, Jinny was about to ask them for their drinks but Harry clicked his tongue and nodded toward a seat, a sign to sit down.
"Sir, we are not supposed to sit down." She spoke kindly, fighting down the urge to glare.
"Yes, yes I know that. But, I'm sure your boss won't mind," and if he does, I'll snap his spine, he thought quietly.
"O-oh, that's okay. You don't have to do tha-" but before she said anything else, he glared at her steadily which she found to be scary, so she immediately sat. And once she did, she didn't care who he was anymore. She gave up and sent him the glare she intended to.
"Chester?" Seeing the assistant turn his head toward him, he said, "I forgot my wallet in the car. Please go get it."
As to why he "forgot" it, Chester didn't know. He decided not to question it and left the restaurant, towards the car.
As soon as Chester was about 6 feet away, Harry snapped his gaze to Jinny, who was glaring at him silently.
Without saying anything before, Harry suddenly spoke.
"I know what you are."
He spoke so clearly, not fazed in the least bit.
Jinny's heart suddenly started to beat frantically, as though she was running from a Tsunami rather than talking to a customer. Her eyes widened, and trying to protect the truth, she spoke again.
"W-what? I-I-I don't know what y-your talking about." She managed to stutter.
He grinned menacingly at her. "Don't be afraid. You can trust me."
Hearing this, Jinny tried to get her heart to slow, but no matter how many deep breaths she took, she couldn't calm down.
Part of it wasn't just that he knew, but something else that she couldn't put her finger on.
"I-..." accepting her fate, Jinny just decided to tell him the truth. "Well, I was never a great actress so there is no need to lie." She spoke clearer, and Harry was surprised in her sudden change of voice.
"Well.. nice to know someone else has been booted out of their jobs, correct?" He spoke with no sign of evidence that he had been surprised.
"Yes, I guess so. So, what did you do to get kicked out?" She asked, not noticing her sudden forward ness.
"I was.. 'nice', to one of your kind," he answered simply. "What about you?"
"I felt the emotions of hatred and sadness." She was unfazed by his answer, so I guess she was different after all. Harry stared at her, shocked. Is it that hard to be happy all the time?
"May I ask why?" He said, raising his eyebrows while also offering a grin.
"No. Not now, at least." She returned his grin, but in a more menacing way.
His grin faded, glaring at her. He never gets told the word "No". He always got his way. She continued her menacing grin, delighted she was making him restless.
"Would you like a small amount of cash?" He said, pulling two 100 dollar bills out of his coat.
Jinny eyed the money. He lied. He told his assistant to get his wallet. She narrowed his eyes, and as though knowing what she was about to say, Harry interrupted.
"How else was I supposed to talk to you? He doesn't know." He said.
Stupid, mocking demon.
