She felt as though her heart has been squeezing forever. Her breathing suddenly cut short.
As it seems, they were soulmates. But, neither of them knew, but one had a small hunch. And that was Jinny.
"I- I.." she looked down, embarrassed. Her cheeks were brilliantly red, giving her pale skin some color. Harry found this to be adorable.
The fact the man wanted to give her 200 dollars just for her answer. Is he crazy?
Suddenly gaining confidence, she spoke as though nothing had happened. "No. I might tell you when the time is right. Not now. No matter how much you give me, my trust is something more than money."
Harry stared at her. She was declining money.
She was declining money?!
All Harry's life, he has worked and worked, non-stop. Money was one of the things he now could get easily, as though it was biting into butter.. but in a money form. He had always taken the chance for money and so has everyone else he knew.
She stared into his eyes, confusion clouding her gaze. Does he have a problem?
"Excuse me? Mr. Jester, do we have a problem with me refusing your proposal? It's not marriage, you'll be fine." Jinny was a cunning and sarcastic woman.
But, Harry didn't take jokes as often as she did. He took everything seriously. But, he couldn't help but fly back at her.
"Marriage is different. Would you accept my proposal if I did? It's more difficult, as you said, Ms. Ballaster."
"Your right, it is. But what if someone told you they had multiple husbands? Like it's as easy as earning money?" She fires off. She didn't care whom she was speaking too, but Harry found this amusing.
"That would be disgusting if they did." He grinned.
She smiled, her glare disappearing. "Your right, it would be. So as long as they love each other, it shouldn't be bad to get married. But if they knew each other for a short length of time, it would be an arranged marriage.. or true love." She spoke as though she knew everything about love.
He was dazed....'By true love'. What a cheesy line. But as he looked at her, a spark in his heart told him that it wasn't just something cheesy. It was true.
"Hey, can I get your number?" Harry asked. Jinny simply took out her phone from her pocket in the apron and handed it to him.
"...I'll take that," he said, putting his number in, "as a yes. I'll call you soon, Jinny Ballaster."
At that moment, Chester walked in and spoke, "Mr. Jester, I could not find your wallet in the car." Chester took in the image of seeing the girl leaning across the table, her hand out. In Harry's left hand was her phone. Harry handed it back to her, and she slowly stood up.
"We will not be eating today. Maybe another time, Chester." Chester stared at him. An hours long drive for this? Was it for this girl? Did he give his number? What's happening to Harry Jester?
"Okay, Mr. Jester." With that, they got up and walked gracefully towards the exit when Harry turned back and said, directed to the girl to which only he and she could hear, "I'll see you soon, Ms. Ballaster."
With one last grin, he left Jinny in a state of confusion and happiness. Happiness, which she didn't know of. What's the reason for this?
As Harry was about to get in the car, he turned and saw Chester hurriedly following him.
"Chester. Call the chef and make sure he prepares something as we did not eat." Harry spoke.
It was dark outside, you couldn't really see anything besides for the stars and the bright lights of the city. Harry loved the night; he lived many, many years with it and has somehow learned to not just live with it, but love it.
Jinny, on the other hand, hated the dark. She had a horrible fear of the night, which was certain for all of her kind. It's not fair, to have hours of the night.
As Jinny was driving home, her mind was occupied about food. She was starving. She barely got a lunch break today, as the restaurant was busier then normal days.
When she pulled in the driveway of her small home, she was unaware to the fact she was being followed.
She ran into the house, forgetting to lock her doors. Her stomach was forcefully growling by this point, the ride was longer than she thought.
She grabbed a cup of microwaveable Macaroni and popped it in the microwave. She put it on for 3 minutes and 15 seconds, exactly as the container said.
2 minutes passed before her appetite got the best of her. 1 minute to waste, who cares? It'll be fine.
She took it out of the microwave and grabbed a spoon from the drawer. Her kitchen was a white and blue themed beauty, with marble counters. Her stove looked expensive, but it was there when she bought the home so she wasn't sure.
She sat at on her 2-person couch, facing the TV, popping a cheesy piece of macaroni in her mouth. She grabbed the remote, and started to watch her favorite movie, Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire.
Unaware of the man outside of her house, halfway through the movie she fell asleep on her couch.
The man slowly stepped up to the house and pressed on the door handle. The door creaked open.
Jinny was a very light sleeper. One moment she was sleeping and the next, awake like she never had been.
As soon as the door creaked, Jinny's eyes flew open. Seeing there was an intruder, she kept her eyes shut, fear and congidence taking over her mind completely.
The man did not know she was awake. As he slowly and quietly walked towards where she was, he was silently giving himself a tour. A grin started to make way on his face as he saw Jinny laying on her couch, fast asleep.
But, Jinny was secretly making a plan in her head. She heard footsteps draw closer and a soft chuckle escape the mans lips.
Everything happened at once. Jinny got up and faced the man.
"And what are you doing here at this time?" She asked, a small, sinister smile on her lips.
The man looked taken aback. "How—?" Jinny threw a punch at his face, so hard that it threw him to the ground. His silk, hazel brown hair was now disheveled. His eyes were scared.
"Don't you know it's rude to come into one's home? Have your parents not taught you better?" She taunted.
"Are you going to kill me? I bet you won't be able to, a measly woman." He scoffed, gaining some confidence. He pushed himself off the ground, pushing his hair back, putting it into the sleek form it was before he arrived.
She sent him a taunting grin. "Oh really? A measly woman, you say? Could a measly woman do... this?" She said, pulling him into a headlock. "Or..this?" She flipped him over on his back and stepped on his stomach, licking him down with her powerful legs.
"Aye! Let me g-" before he could say anything else, she took him by his shoulder and stood him up and started to walk towards the door.
"Do you know who I am? I'll have you sued for this!" He yelled.
"I'm sorry, but nobody would take to kindly to this. No matter who you are, it's rude." She gave him a smile which held no matter of kindness.
"You'll pay for this. Mark my words, you will." He screeched, making the nearby birds flutter from sight.
"Oh no, I don't think I will. Truly sorry.." and with that, she took out the knife she had been hiding and stabbed him, straight in his heart.
