Hello Mr. Detective, I'm Hugo Lenard," I introduced myself.
Suddenly my vision changed to black and white, heat vision if I had to guess because the walls were white while the people were gray. I need to learn to control it later but for now it will help a lot.
"Why are your eyes glowing if I may ask?" Smith asked.
I focused on him and answered, "can't control it, it's dark."
I didn't let him know that I was looking at the heat signature of everything in this room, I felt like that would make him think I'm lying. There are only a handful of people in this world that have an unnatural trait like me and those that do have one are registered as super human which brings many problems with it. Thinking of it now I am likely on their radar due to what I did to the car not to mention my glowing eyes.
Smith looked at a tablet and scrolled down before looking back up at me, "it shows you are dead and there are no SP genes registered under that name, so explain it so that we don't throw you in prison for identity theft," he demanded.
I rolled my eyes and told him what I knew, "I was dead until two days ago, when I died I picked up some SP genes and one of them revived me, super regeneration. Since I had come back to life I had died two other times, killed myself once and asked someone to kill me because I was getting a bit too violent towards her. With regeneration I also have heightened senses, night vision, heat vision, super strength, I don't eat or sleep, don't seem to have a limit to my stamina and I can control my bodily functions like blood flow and pupil dilation. I have no intention to hurt anyone that doesn't hurt me or my loved ones."
Smith looked intrigued, "so these guns will not stop you but just slow you down? Do you feel pain? Are your eyes glowing because you are using one of your powers?" he bombarded me.
I couldn't help but laugh, "the guns will stop me for an unknown amount of time, longest time I stayed dead was six months and shortest is one hour, I do feel pain but less and less after every time I die and yes I'm currently using heat vision but not because I want to but because I seemed to get that power only 5 minutes ago. I was using night vision when you walked in, it just happens when it's dark," I humored him.
Smith was baffled likely because the most powers one ever had was five but those were the five senses considered as a different power each. He looked at the mirror's window and gave a gesture for someone to come in. Smith looked back at me as the door opened and a girl walked in dressed professionally.
"I decided what to do with you, this is Aster Mason and she's a superhuman like you. Aster may look small but think of her as a small tank that can hear you at all times, she doesn't sleep so she is perfect for the job. Aster here will keep a watchful eye over you and you are not to leave her side, if she needs to go somewhere you will follow," Smith explained.
Aster jumped a little and looked at me blushing a little, "what did you do?" she commanded.
The swat agents pointed their guns at me. Smith's heart rate sped up from the shock, he looked at me with a glare.
I noticed it from the moment I got out of the car, I had some connection with her, the same kind I had with the other three girls. I put my hands up moving the table a bit, "me nothing, I'm surprised it took you this long to notice. Don't worry it's not something that will harm you in any way, just a link that might work in your advantage, you will know where I am at all times," I tried to defend myself.
Aster gestured to the swat agents to put their guns down and relaxed. She walked up to me and took my cuffs off, she was surprised when the red marks from the cuffs started to gradually disappear. She knew about my regeneration ability but it was strange seeing it in action.
Smith looked at me and rubbed his head, "the three we brought in earlier are…"
"Right behind that window" I cut him off.
I walked out the door without further issue and got the other three, "well let's go home," I said then started to head out the door.
