The tortured people especially the woman whom he was about to kill relaxed when they saw Lander slumping down while tears rolling down on his face.
Lute and Adofo rushed towards Lander and simultaneously asked, "Master, are you ok?"
"Master, what happened to you?"
"Help them," Lander just stated with a low voice while looking around and saw a very gruesome scenario. A headless body was sprinkling blood, scattered brains and human flesh on another body, a lifeless body covered in blood, a knife planted on another man's head, a head turned 180 degrees and blood oozing out from the tortured people.
Despite seeing that scenario, he didn't return to the state he just experienced a while ago.He suddenly puked and moved away. He arrived at a river and saw his reflection. He was stunned, "Did I just do that?"
Asking himself that question, he didn't feel any guilt or any conscience like it was normal for him to do that. But there was still doubt in his mind whether he was the one who did that or he wasn't.
Calming himself, he found a spot in the river and jumped down not even removing his clothes. He cleaned the blood from his body and clothes. He then enjoyed the cool and refreshing water a river could give while closing his eyes remembering his uncle and cousin giving him a serene feeling of motivation.
Lute and Adofo helped the tortured people as they gave them healing potions to the most wounded because they weren't carrying a lot of healing potions while they bandaged the others who were in better situation.
After helping them, Lute and Adofo followed by those people went to the river where Lander was relaxing. Lander noticed them but never said anything, not even turning his head.
The old granny stepped forward, dropped to her knees kneeling, her forehead touching the ground, "Thank you saviour for helping the remaining members of the Carnegie Clan and we will do our outmost desire to be able to work for our saviour."
The other members of the Carnegie Clan followed the old granny, even the woman who just labored did the same while carrying her child.
Lander was stunned, "What's the meaning of this?"
"Master, the Carnegie Clan is known as the most benevolent, trustworthy and loyal clan. Having saved them from their gruesome situation, they are now willing to follow your command," Lute explained bowing his head.
"So, I was really the one who killed those people?" Lander asked and another sense of sorrow came to him but not to the extreme.
"Master? You didn't know?" Adofo asked with questioning gaze.
"I wasn't on the right mind that time," Lander sighed and evading the memories he just created. He then told Lute to take out his bag from his storage ring. He moved away from them and changed to a new set of clothes.
When he returned, he saw the Carnegie Clan who were still kneeling not moving an inch, "Why are they still on that position?"
"Your words are their action, Master." Lute answered.
Lander was dumbfounded and ordered them to stood up, "You are actually willing to serve an outcast?"
"An outcast having his own slaves means he would be an outstanding character sooner or later," The old granny answered praising him.
"Aren't you afraid knowing that I could make you an outcast just by touching you?" Lander asked confused by the determination of these people to work for him.
"We won't be turned into an outcast since I am a priestess that could create Blessed Water, I could even make this river a sanctuary of Blessed Water," The old granny explained.
"I see," Lander nodded his head when he finally moved towards the baby who was still crying aloud, "What is his name milady?"
The mother of the baby blushed when she heard him calling her milady, "You have the power to name him my saviour. You can even have all of the women here yours and bear your children."
"I see. Wait, what did you say?" Lander felt he heard something wrong. The mother of the baby repeated what she just said.
Upon hearing it again, Lander turned towards Lute and Adofo, "Did I hear it right?"
"Yes, Master!" The two answered at the same time grinning from ear to ear.
"Are you actually serious?" Lander asked as he couldn't believe what he was hearing.
"That is the truth young man, you can even have me if you want," The old granny answered him.
Lander coughed pretending he didn't hear what she just said as he turned his eyes towards the baby, "May I?"
The mother gave her child to Lander, once the baby was on his arm, the baby stopped crying and was raising his hands on the air as though he wanted to play with Lander. Lander, of course gave his hand to the baby that made the baby satisfied.
"How about I name you Alnos?" The baby laughed and suddenly closed his eyes as he slept peacefully in Lander's arm.
"Forgive me granny but I'm not really interested in making you people work for me. As you know, I am only an outcast and doesn't have that richness to support you," Lander said as he gave back Alnos to his mother.
"You don't have to worry about our survival as we have the capability to support ourselves. We only wanted to work for you and benefit you," The old granny said.
Trying to evade these people by saying negative stuffs about him, Lander wasn't successful as they were really stubborn in working for him. He then sighed as he accepted a fate that could never be undone.
Sitting down, Lander asked them how they ended up with such a situation. The old granny told him the story, they originated from the Drake Region. Because of the war four hundred years ago against the Dark Force, their clan was besieged by the enemies. They weren't a clan of warriors but they were strong enough to cast magic instantly. Unfortunately, the enemy was far stronger than them. The Dark Force held them as captives, women would often be raped, children were offered to the one who has the highest ranking and the men were the guinea pigs of their experiments. They haven't seen the outside world for four hundred years until recently when the men who were being experimented became far stronger and their auras exploded like crazy, they slaughtered some of the Dark Forces and freed their brethren.
They ran for their lives while some of the Dark Forces chased them, some of the men who were experimented stayed to give the others time to run. It was when they were finally safe that the experimented men acted like crazy, they became sadistic. Some of them were also killed by those who freed them by trying to put up a fight but unfortunately, they were tied up and tortured for an entire week, killing some of them. That was when Lander showed up.
"Since you came from Drake Region, don't you guys want to go back?" Lander asked.
"Going back will only make us remember the pain and sufferings our breathren experienced," The old granny replied with a sorrowful emotion.
"Lute, do you have any place in mind where we can temporarily give these people shelter?" Lander asked as he wasn't knowledgeable enough about the geography of Amphiptere.
"Master, as we are needing people in our business, they can be a great help to us." Lute suggested.
"Then who among you knew about cooking?" Lander asked the Carnegie Clan but no one answered.
"How about cleaning and washing dishes?" Again, no one answered.
"How many of you have any idea about business?" Everybody shook their head.
"You have to know young man that it is only now that we are interacting to the outside world as we have been prisoners of war for hundreds of years. The skills that our ancestors knew vanished the instant we were born as we aren't qualified to apply it in our case. Even some of our magic spells were forgotten," The old granny replied shaking her head.
