Chapter 7 - Chapter 6

Without any hesitation I charged forward, leaping into the air when I was within striking distance. The momentum from my sprint made it seem like I was floating as I flew towards the enemies and did a spin attack, smoothly landing on the ground and sliding into the middle of the group of adventurers. I had only killed one Goblin and two Blobs, leaving around fifteen or so more of each enemy.

"T-thank you." It was the girl I had heard call for help that spoke. She had tears running down her face. Her grey eyes had seemed dead of all hope, but when she saw me jump in, life breathed back into them.

Her black hair went all the way down her spine, stopping just at the top of her butt. She wore white and blue robs, with nearly no defense on them, meaning she was a mage, but also that they were probably a party of low to mid–level adventurers who were doing a quest and got ambushed unexpectedly. Her skin was white and she was rather small, not even reaching my chest. But you couldn't say the same about the size of her breasts.

Seriously, those things are huge!

Wait, this is no time to awe over breasts!

"Don't thank me yet." I twirled my sword as I got in my battle stance. "First, we have to kill these bastards."

Chapter 1: The Legendary Sword, Nyankunyaku

Fighting was no joke. With each swing I could feel my body growing tiresome, and the waves of enemies seemed ever growing.

I was catching a small breather when a voice called out.

"Watch out!" An arrow flew past my face and penetrated the skull of a goblin that tried to sneak up on me.

The one who saved me was named Sora, she was an Archer.

I only knew her name because the trio would talk to each other. I had learned their names that way.

By the way, they referred to me as "Hey" since I hadn't told them my name.

I watched as blood splattered on the wall of the cave and the arrow crashed into the wall, snapping in half.

"Thanks." I managed to say before focusing all my attention back on the enemies before me.

We had been fighting for hours, and it seemed as though the enemies never stopped coming. As soon as one was killed, others appeared from nowhere, replenishing the numbers they had lost.

The party of 3 started to panic when they realized this, and I found my gaze wondering in their direction. The fear in their eyes, the look of true terror.

That's it.

I made up my mind, I would save them all, and I had a plan to do so. Now it was a dangerous and stupid one, but it's still something.

"Rubellia," The name I called was that of the girl who had called for help. She was a mage, meaning she could use magic.

If you played MMO's, you'd know that there were certain spells you shouldn't cast in small, enclosed spaced. Yeah, that was my plan.

"Y-Yeah?" She looked at me from where she had stood in the back so she could cast spells while we protected her.

"You're a mage, so please tell me you have explosive-" I was interrupted by a goblin and blob that lunged at me. I slashed, cutting the goblin in half, then twirled and slashed the blob. "Explosive magic in your skill set." I continued from where I was cut off.

"Well, yeah. But there's a problem with that," she averting her eyes nervously. "We're in a cave…"

I'm not stupid!

I know damn well where we are, but it's our only option!

"Just cast the spell, and aim it at the ceiling where they are all coming from!" My demanding demeanor made her jump.

"B-But what if we get caved in or someone gets hurt?"

"That won't happen as long as you aim the spell directly above and in front of me." I slashed a black goblin. It didn't die, but instead charged at me again. I side stepped and stabbed it in its back as it charged past. "Trust me," I said calmly.

My calmness must have settled her nerves, as her body unstiffened and she nodded and started what sounded like an incantation.

"Oh Mother of Flames, who watches over all living things, giving warmth to those in need." As she spoke the incantation, she began to glow blue, and her clothes and hair blew in a wind that touched no one else. " I call upon thee to bless thy staff with the power of fire, to explode and relinquish thy enemies," she pointed her staff at the ceiling above me as a small flame appeared at the tip of it. "FIRE BLAST!" A fire ball hurled over my head and made contact with the ceiling. It exploded in a bright flash and rocks fell, cutting off the enemies reinforcements. Soon, however, the cave started to crumble.

I went to jump back but was grabbed and tackled by a goblin.

"Tsk! Get off you little-" the goblin bit into my arm. "Ngh!"

My sword fell from my grip and I tried pushing it off with my free hand, though it seemed to do nothing, only making it angrier.

Slowly the wall above me started to crumble more, and chunks of rock landed around me. I could feel my life waning, and see my HP bar falling as blood poured from my wound. An arrow zipped past me and into the goblins eye, penetrating its skull.

"We won't let you die here, not after you saved us." It was Sora, but all the others were there too, fighting off goblins and blobs to make a path.

I grabbed my sword and began to run. The cave crumbled behind us as we ran. There were several times when one of us almost got hit by the crumbling rocks, but we always managed to dodge just in time.

We escaped just as the entrance was sealed by an avalanche of rocks, and the first thing we did was collapse on the ground. Slowly we all started laughing. But as the laughing stopped, I realized something, and that was the fact that the sun was slowly rising from the horizon, giving the sky that reddish tent.

No way! We were in their all night!?

I stared in silence at the sky as I pondered the thought. A hand on my shoulder returned me to reality.

"Hey man," It was the guy, his name was Han. He was a good looking male with short red hair, browneyes, and dark skin. He was well taller than me, at least six foot exact, and judging from his gear, which was heavy armor that consisted of silver chain mail and red cloth, he was a Warrior and seemed to favor a two-handed axe. "You good?" His slightly deep voice suited his looks to a T.

"Yeah, I'm fine." I replied aloofly.

I went to sheath my sword, but a sharp pain flared through my entire arm and I collapsed to my knees. My adrenaline had numbed the pain of the injury, but now that it was gone, it was hitting full affect.

It was a pain I had never felt before. Tears of pain fell from my eyes as I clenched my hand.

"Ngh! I-it burns! Make it stop!" My arm felt as though it was being ripped off, like something was pulling it and the skin was tearing open.

"Rubellia!" It was Sora who had called her name, thought the voices sounded distant, like they were fading into the horizon along with the sun. Rubellia quickly came running up to me and put both her hand a few inches away from my wound.

"Oh Gentle Mother of Light, heed thy call and heal though wounds. Healing Aura." A small ball of green light appeared in her hand, surrounding the wound. I could feel the pain going away, as well as the wound closing. When she finished, my arm was good as new, and her magic also seemed to repair the armor too.

The hell...?
