Eguru made sure to visit Lia one last time. You never know if you meet someone again or if it's the last time. However, he came prepared.
Although Verzo was a criminal in this city he still managed to do something for Eguru. Of course not directly. He only gave him money and instructions on what to do. It was time he finally bought a phone.
And since he was somewhat decent at that foreign language he succeeded.
Verzo then helped him set up the phone and get it to work properly. He could've done it alone if it wasn't for a language barrier. Setting that phone up would've been imposible for him as there were tons of words he didn't know.
Lia then was messaged to come visit the library.
"Hey, what's up?" Eguru asked when he approached her. Her clothes showed that she was working today. She wryly smiled. "Oh, nothing, nothing. Just work. It's been rough as a guard these past days, you know? Other than that I'm fine."
"That's tuff. Verzo and Fabio sure caused a lot of chaos huh." They both sat down. No one was near them and Puck wasn't here today either. Only a whole lot of bookshelves and other things were surrounding them.
"How are you doing though? When I heard that you died I was shocked.. I never expected you to be killed. Especially not with Verzo around." She looked relieved and worried at the same time.
Eguru leaned back and started to explain. "Well, the morning everything happened Verzo wasn't there. I basically went on to search for him but couldn't find him. I also didn't remember where the black market was. Luckily. If I had went there I probably would've been in more trouble than now. So then I started to walk down different alleys to search for him with no success. And that's where basically everything went down hill. You know the rest", he shrugged after finishing his summary.
She listened to him the entire time. "I see... But you shouldn't have walked down that alley!"
'She's lecturing me? Damn.'
Eguru laughed it off. "I know but I couldn't help it I guess. You learn from mistakes... Though I probably shouldn't say that. I mean. I literally died", he chuckled and she did too. "Yet here am I, alive."
"That's only because you were lucky! Verzo explained how you were revived." She calmed down again.
"I still can't really believe it honestly. Someone that died came back to life as if was nothing special. Are you sure you're even human?"
"Hah, at this point I don't believe so. At least not fully. You know we gotta leave the city today right?"
"Yeah.. It's kind of sad. Would've loved to come with you and travel around the kingdom but I still have a lot to do as one of the higher ups, you know?"
Eguru nodded. He understood what a shame that was. "I got great news actually. We've bought a phone today and we'll be able to exchange numbers if you want to."
Her eyes sparked as he said that. "Sure!" - "Great."
They were using a simple messenger to talk to each other from now on. Calls could of course be made too. Face timing was a thing here.
The two friends said goodbye to each other and Eguru returned to Verzo. Their journey began.
Leaving the city was an easy task. Verzo just outspeeded the guards who already didn't pay much attention. Eguru could leave with ease as he was not suspicious at all. How could he be anyways? He didn't do anything wrong.
Now being on the open fields of Raiherd a fresh breeze of cold air passed them. It was warm outside, the sun shining. In the air you could sometimes see groups of birds or eagles hunting. The sky was clear and blue.
"Well, where do we go first?" Eguru asked the other man. "I was actually thinking about going back to Akuta. If we stay there for about two to three weeks we'll be able to be part of a festival that only occurs twice a year."
Hearing that peaked his interest. "Sounds good to me. What's the festival about?"
"It basically is about sakura trees and cherry blossoms. Akuta is to this day the city which holds the record for "the most cherry blossoms spread around the city in a beatiful way". People even influence them and change their color."
"Ohh, so we're going to make the city look more beatiful and have fun with it?" - "Yeah. The winners also get rewarded highly. The top 5 for example get a 60% discount on everything in Akuta. But not only that - they also get a ton of money. And of course all the other participants get rewarded too. All the restaurants in town are free to visit for two days!"
Eguru was fascinated. "Man I'm already looking forward to it. Such high rewards? Either the city is extremely wealthy or it loves their residents", he laughed.
"Both." Verzo said with a smile on his face. "Let's go."
Akuta was almost 6 hours away from Legrandeus. Walking there could get dangerous. Just because it worked one time, doesn't mean it works the other time.
