I kept watching them in disbelief and I was so exhausted to even go and listen to what they were talking about. I kept staring them with my body bent and hands on my knees. A few seconds later Shane got up as if he wasn't able to take anymore of talking with Ellis, a good thing about Shane is,his expressions are always clear and you can tell what's going on in his mind. He seemed like he was discussing something with Ellis and he pissed him off. Of course they both pester each other the most. Seeing them together seemed like an optical illusion. But now they were back to being normal as Ellis pushed him and left his seat and he was coming, at my direction. He saw me and turned his expressions from frustrated to neutral. They surely were hiding something and I shouldn't care about that. It's none of my business but don't know why but my conscience is forcing me to go through the depth of everything that's happening weird around me.
Ellis came to me and smiled,
"Exhausted that early, huh!?"
"Atleast I wasn't the last person to reach the end, today."
I told and not disclosing that I saw him and Shane together because one thing I have observed was neither Shane nor Ellis were going to tell the truth,so if I had to find out something I would have to search for it myself.
"I am proud. Well done."
He chuckled and I smiled.
"Where were you? I didn't saw you when we entered the tracks."
I wanted to check the extent of his lies.
"I was a little tired so was gone for taking some rest."
He surely wasn't going to make it easy for me to know.
"Here you are. I have been looking for you."
Jess came and saw Ellis in amusement.
"Are you good now?"
She asked him.
"Yeah. I've been good all the time. Why are you asking."
Whoa! Ellis is a good pretender.
"Your mood was off since morning. You wouldn't even talk to us and neither did you joined us for our fundraiser's preparations."
She told and Ellis said,
"Oh! I completely forgot about that. Weren't we going to do that after school hours?"
He asked.
"Yes we are going to do that after school but since most of is were free during second period we decided to start making with souvenir gifts for the event."
Jess said.
"Cool idea. Where are we meeting then?"
Ellis asked and we hadn't decided where we were going to meet, yet.
"We can't do that at my dormitory as you know my warden doesn't allows boys in."
Jess admitted. That's when I knew she lived in dorms. How cool, right? Maybe.
"Emma said her parents are having some guests and Austin can't join us today and doing at Mason's home is a bad idea."
She continued glancing alternately at me and Ellis. Ellis was thinking something when Jess interrupted,
"Can we do it at your place, Ellis?"
"Huh....my place..?... I don't think that will be possible. How about we go to Iya's place. She is a new friend and you haven't been to hers yet."
He said ,smiling awkwardly.
"We haven't been to your place, either."
Jess said rolling her eyes and I can't believe Ellis has never invited his friends over. I mean they looked close friends.
"Yeah sure we can do that at my place. Mom will be happy to meet my new friends."
I told and my mom seriously will be the happiest person to see me finally becoming social and making friends.
"Great. See you after school then."
Jess said and left for changing room. I smiled at Ellis and decided to take a water break first and then went to changing room. It was empty now. After wearing my casual clothes I left for my class which had Shane in it.
I entered the class late and I can't tolerate the look my teacher gave as she had already made it clear ,she doesn't likes late comers, yesterday. But she didn't said anything just after giving a scowl started turning the pages of her text book which she was going to explain.
I took a seat that was two seats ahead of Shane and settled my stuffs on it. Shane seemed to be less bothered and didn't try to make any contact. It was a but awkward for me as he always tried to come to and talk to me, let it be pestering me. I glanced his way but he was reading something in his text book. I tore a sheet of paper and wrote him a message,
"What's wrong with you?"
I passed the paper to the guy sitting behind him gestured towards Shane to pass on. He gave the paper to Shane and he looked at me. I mouthed him to open the chit. He did.
He mouthed ''What'' in return as if he didn't understood what I wanted to ask.
I tore another piece of paper and wrote,
"You are acting weird today or I should say since yesterday."
I added it on and when he read it he made gestures as if I was the one acting weird. He won't let it be easy for me, either. He mouthed ''How'' after a sec and I asked him to meet me after class in a whisper and turned back to sit normal. I am crossing limits made by me. One of them was to never talk in between the class and never lose your concentration. This whole thing was surely gonna affect my studies bad. But since I was here I had hardly concerned my studies all I did was to wonder about the weird behaviors of Shane and Ellis.
Today's class ended a bit longer than yesterday the teacher was on a bad mood, I guess that she chose to lecture us on discipline.
After putting all my stuff in my bag I left the classroom. Shane surprised me from appearing suddenly from the left side of the door and he did it on purpose and I felt now he was back to normal.
''Shane... "
I started to shout at him but he interrupted,
"Start with what you were saying, I don't have much time."
He said,looking at his watched and gave me a mean smile.
"Why did you left so hurriedly last night?"
I asked.
"I had some work to complete."
He said.
"You should have informed me and left."
I stated and he smirked.
"Why would I tell you about my plans?"
He said and left, without letting me say a word. He was such a frustration. Could he ever listen to someone?
