Chapter 5 - 5.) Closed door cultivation....or not?

Li Wei walked into a grand hall, it was similar to the hall he first arrived in, red pillars holding up the gold painted ceiling, wide enough to fit 30

people across. At the end of the hall their was a platform, on that platform are several chairs plated in gold. Another platform rises above the other and on it sits the biggest chair of them all covered with intricate gold carvings.

But this hall was smaller than the other one. This hall is solely for the sect masters use, but still big enough to fit in other important peak masters within the soaring sword sect.

Li Wei walked to the highest platform and paused looking at the golden seat, pondering. In the novel after taking over the soaring sword sect the protagonist destroyed this seat and built another, saying that he didn't want to sit on something dirtied by others.

When Li Wei was writing this scene he made it so the readers would pity the male lead and would agree with him. But... after spending 5 years here at the soaring sword sect he didn't want its history to be broken and treated like trash.

In moments like these he didn't know if it was him or the previous Li Wei. But now that Li Wei had become the Li Wei from his book he has accepted his identity, he liked to think that they were the same being. Here he at least had parents, before he was a orphan.

He dragged his gaze from the seat and strode to the double doors off to the side. He passed through the doors and stepped into a long hallway, in the hallway servents were rushing around cleaning and doing there jobs, the air seemed tense.

Li Wei was a people person, this ment that he was very good an reading others faces and body movements. He reached out and hand and, stoped a maid. When the maid saw him she, smiled. Even the servants treated him well sometimes spoiling him with sweets from the mortal world.

"What's going on? Is there a guest that i didn't know of?"

Li Wei voiced his thoughts his tone passive and slightly indifferent but also a bit concerned. The maid heard this and smile before frowning and in a low voice she said,

"The sect master has revived a letter and now it seems that a guest is coming, the sect master has ordered to prepare the halls and make for a feast."

Li Wei frowned slightly, this guest probably ment bad news. Whenever they had guest his master always liked to show him off which he usually didn't mind but this was a crucial time, the protagonist had just arrived. He must go into closed door cultivation as a fast as possible.

Stealing his mind he walked in the direction of the sect masters rooms. He opened the doors and walked into the room, it was similar to a office that Li Wei had in his previous life, very messy. Their were scrolls stacked in the walls and a desk full of paper and ink that needed to be grinded. The sect master and his advisor were arguing about something when Li Wei walked into the room.

"...no! I already told them no! I'm not marrying off any of-"

Li Wei's masters voice stoped short when he saw Li Wei standing in the door. His master smiled slightly and bekoned him to the desk.

"Li Wei, just who i wanted to see! We have a guest arriving with another guest and she's made a separate request to get her daughter and you in a engagement."

The sect master was dressed messily and was making a pouting face at Li Wei, like a sad puppy. Except that this puppy was at least 134 years old, had tremendous spiritual power and was the youngest Soring sword sect master, currently at stage Heavenly Celestial stage 1, he had been there for a year now but it was a monstrous achievement for someone his age. So much so that the Soaring Sword Sect master had directly handed over his position and left to travel.

Li Wei sighed, this had become a problem recently as Li Wei was now old enough to consider having a engagement since he was no longer a teenager. But most of the time while engagement wasn't too odd marriage came much later as cultivator always live long lives. Some took concubines or mistress too, besides there engagement or marriage.

Li Wei was a modern person so the fact of having several lovers made him a bit sour. He never had any intention of marrying several people. And if he ever got a lover they should only have him as their lover, if they had more…well he'd make them miserable.

Now in a worse mood than before his frown deepened,

"I'm not getting engaged or marrying right now, and even if i do i have 300 hundred years older to do it."

In the cultivation world as long as you reached Origin core or above you would have a lifetime of around 300 years. If you could reach heavenly celestial than you would love to somewhere around 800-900 years old, something few could accomplish. Although some cultivators died before 300, either in battle or from old wounds or sickness.

Some had also been known for taking there own life after a loved one died. Here there was t much of a difference between male and male marriage or female and female marriage, after all with 300 or so years of life why should you care about giving birth to a child?

But this sentence was a way to show that he was improving and was going to make it to Orgin core soon. It was brimming with confidence.

His master straightened his back and looked up at him, slowly breaking into a smile.

"You really are worthy of the title as Soaring Sword Sects genius cultivator."

Both he and his master had similar personalities, and had a very good tactic understanding of each other. A big improvement from when he first arrived at the Sect. Li Wei just frowned again, thinking to himself suddenly,

'After you see the protagonist you'll certainly change your mind! He has the protagonist halo! He had the golden finger!... I wonder if you'll leave me like what happened in the book?..'

His frown deepened and a crease appeared on his pale forehead, why was he thinking such useless thoughts? He hoped to have a good relationship with his master even after the protagonist appeared.

Suddenly reminded of his original purpose, Li Wei spoke his thoughts of wanting to go into closed door cultivation. His master sighed studying Li Wei's face for a short while before agreeing. Waving he said that he'd stop by in a week before he went into closed door cultivation. Of course he could go earlier under the premise that Li Wei would at least stay until after greeting the guests.

Satisfied Li Wei turned promptly and left, the rolls of paper and the smell of ink was making his nose stuffy. In his previous world he would offen buy new books instead of online reading simply for the smell of fresh ink on the pages. Now it only served as a reminder of his horrible death, a warning not to provoke the protagonist. Not unless he was looking forward to being tortured.

Suppressing the shivers that went up his spine he reminded himself that he was no longer as he was before, he could change his fate. As proven through changing peoples idea of him.

Leaving his masters hall he walked towards his 'house'.

His quarters were near the top of a slope close by to his masters hall, as he walked he hummed a simple tune, one from his previous life. The song was about the rain falling on the rooftops, its tempo was slow and gentle. His voice his singing was very soft and comfortable, making people unconsciously relax.

He walked into a spacious courtyard passing the stone table and seats, looking up at the willow trees planted around the rim of the courtyard. When he first saw this courtyard he was ecstatic, the view was beautiful and the sun rose on the side the house was placed, this way he woke up to the sun shining through the windows.

He climbed the stone steps and opened the doors. The inside was open and bright, white clothed bed sheets and bamboo matt's gave the room a bright airy feel. He had several wooden shelves holding trinkets and books along with his wardrobe of capes and his grey, white and purple robes. He drifted to the back of the room with soft footsteps passing his bed and going straight to the windows gazing at the sun that was setting, the colors dying the room a bright red.
