Chereads / The Eclipse House Of Baptiste / Chapter 12 - Praeradio

Chapter 12 - Praeradio

After creating the Princes and giving them duties, Lord Baptiste had gotten to summoning His butler.

A woman who was 5'11 with blonde hair, blood red lips, crimson eyes and flawless porcelain skin. The Countess of Night.

Lara was part of the game's basic tutorial. She would aid players with quests and alerts. She basically was the game's butler and now he was sentient and solely served Emyrs.

"The noble Countess Lara Celeste Tepes, humbly greets the Supreme Lord Emyrs Ambrose Baptiste."

She gave a bow instead of a courtesy. Her pantsuit was spotless and black with a red tie. "It will be an honour to serve you."

After acknowledging the Countess, the Lord began to create more beings.

Emyrs used [Higher Creation] and created twenty maids and five gardners to be Lara's direct subordinates.

All of them were noble rank vampires. Mostly barons and knights who were unable to sire bloodline vampires.

The Lord left for His seclusion and Lara got to work.

If the Princes were the Lord's right hand, a sign of His might and fury then she would be her Lord's left hand, the support and shield that handled all the tedious endeavours that His Grace should not be troubled with.

He had given Lara access to the vault and even transferred assests from His own personal funds to the vault.

He had a lot of the game's currency, the highest value coin being the gold crimson coin, followed by regular gold then silver and copper.

He had said that He had no current use for it but in future when currency was introduced to the Lycans, He would be insanely wealthy and part of Lara's many duties would be to make sure His wealth only grew along with the wealth of the Lycans.

Were the Lycans worthy of such favour? She wondered but it was not her place to query such a matter.

Lara was in the Lord's office working on the design for the personal seals that would be given to the Princes of Abaddon and herself to show authority and rank within the eternal Baptiste House when a knock interrupted her work.

"You may enter." She spoke indefinitely. Her eyes did not leave her work.

The stone double doors opened and Lilith walked in gracefully. She dared not rush into her Lord's office like some wild beast, even in His absence, order and reverence prevail.

"Good afternoon, Lady LaFay. How may I help you?"

"Countess Lara, well met. I have come as a representative of the Princes of Abaddon to speak about the situations with the Lycans?"

Lara put the pen down and looked up at the seraph. One of her eyebrows arched inquisitively.

Lord Lucien could use a degraded version of [Higher Creation] and had made troops of seven foot, amoured warriors known as Nephilim.

They were basically wingless, weaker versions of angels. Lucien had suggested Emyrs use the troops as cannon fodder should the need to escape arise.

The Lord Emyrs admonished him for this and said there would be no fodder under His command.

Uriel had developed medicine and a healthcare plan for the Lycans. She had cured diseases that had been previously unknown to the Lycan people.

She had moved on to studying their biology promising that she had found some interesting things.

Asura and Lilith were the only ones who had the toughest job in the eyes of the residents of Castle Midnight. How do you make those smelly humans worthy of the power of the Great Lord?

They overflowed with pity but, understanding though they were, failure was not an option doing the work of Emyrs. So "situations" were unacceptable.

"Situations? As in plural?"

"Yes, though there are no big issues yet, it is our job to do the will of our Lord to the best of our ability and His Magnificence has given us a goal, to make the mortals worthy of His..."

Her voice broke as though she was in pain. She paused. Then cleared her throat.

"I apologise. I was overcome with a bit of emotion." Lilith bowed her head apologetically.

Lara understood completely. This was a touchy subject for all those created by Him.

He wanted the mortals to be made worthy of His blood sacrament but in the eyes of His "children", it was a painful topic.

"Please, my dear Lady, continue, you have my full attention."

Lara stood up from behind the massive wooden desk and throne like chair and went to rest her hand on Lilith's shoulder.

They were sisters in service to the same superior being. Such a gesture was only a show of understanding and support.

"I believe that we need to establish a kingdom, a new language, breed the best of the mortals and pick from their children who have been taught to follow and obey without question the great ruler's commands."

Lara was stunned. Would the Lord agree to this?

She could ask Him. They had gained a telepathy skill from Him but they dared not disturb His indefinite seclusion.

Lara was in deep thought.

This would accomplish the Lord's goal though. He trusted them to make the right decisions. Lara agreed with Lilith.

The current numbers of the Lycans were just too few to pick those worthy of the blood sacrament.

"You and the Princes have my support, Lilith." Lara declared. "However, if we are to truly do this then His Grace cannot have the simple title of King or Seelie."

Lilith looked at Lara and nodded. Lara and Lilith had access to the library. Books of magic, astrology, anatomy, alchemy and literature filled those shelves and in one of the texts was a word that was befitting their Lord.

"The name of the Kingdom shall be put to a census as the Lord is not here and cannot be disturbed but the title of the Patriach shall be Praeradio for He overshadows us all and in His shadow, we are protected and His light, guided."

With this Emyrs became the First Patriarch and True Praeradio in history .
