Jenny watched as the skeleton's entire body twitched, slowly taking steps towards her. Was this going to be the end for her? To be killed by a skeleton who failed the first time but not the second?
She can't just die now, William and Jonathan died for her sake, so she could get to safety and survive, dying here meant that their sacrifices were in vain. Two of her friends had died today, good friends too. Friends that she knew for 8 years, took classes with, ate with and had fun with, dying here meant that she would lose all of those memories.

What made her heart ache even more was that this entire time, Jonathan had loved her. She just wished he'd have said it earlier, maybe she could have enjoyed having her first boyfriend. Now he had died without anyone to love, to lean on their shoulder, to experience being a parent. He would not have that luxury, and if she didn't act now, she wouldn't have it either.

It was now or never. Jenny pulled out her small knife and attempted to strike the skeleton, but in the end she couldn't. She was too scared, even when her life depended on it. Ever since that incident occured, she was too scared to physically harm anyone. She would never do it ever again. At first she thought that was a good thing, it meant that she couldn't do anything bad to people, but now that she's in a life and death situation, it's failed her.
She gave up, she didn't want to try anymore. She hung her head low and began to sib in her palms. If she was going to get killed by this skeleton then so be it. "I'm sorry Will, Jonathan. In the end I couldn't do it, I'm sorry. I'm sorry." While she was crying, she felt something tap her head.
She quickly crawled back and saw that the skeleton had leaned down and poked her head. What is this Skeleton doing? Why is it so weird, so different from the other skeletons. Why didn't it want to kill her?

"....Huh?" Jenny was confused. Why did the skeleton just fall to the ground? By the time Jenny had gathered all her courage to touch the skeleton, it had already been 5 minutes since it fell.

What the hell, why is there so much new stuff here compared to the last time I appraised him? Mental resistance? Dungeon Escapee? Where did he get all of this from? And why is the (Dungeon) not there anymore? Does that mean he's not a Dungeon Monster anymore? Is that why he's not moving?
Maybe I should wait until he wakes up? Other than the twitching, he didn't seem hostile. If he wakes up and he wants to kill me I'll just run away.
15 minutes went by with Jenny sitting down next to the skeleton.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------
The skeleton woke up to find that thing that he touched earlier was sitting next to him. She had her head rested on her knees, and she wasn't moving. He extended his hand out and touched her head, which caused jump and jerk back.
"H-hello" the thing said, so the skeleton just waved.
"You can understand me?" he nodded his head.
"How?" he just shrugged.
"You don't know?" he nodded towards her.
"Ok.... so why didn't you kill me before?" He shrugged again, this time for a longer period.
"Can I appraise you?" the skeleton tilted his head at the word "appraise". What did it mean?
"Here I'll show you" the thing extended its hand and chanted something, and a small light left the skeletons body.
"This skill lets me see your status. Still no Dungeon next to your race". How she see my status? thought the skeleton. He held out his hand and tried to do the same thing, but nothing happened.
"What are you trying t- oh, you don't have that skill. I can show you how to get it as long as you help me get out of this Dungeon, okay?" The skeleton nodded his head. He really wanted that skill that could show people's status. Jenny stood up and started walking and the skeleton followed. While the skeleton was following Jenny she turned around and asked him a question.
"I noticed you didn't have a name by the way. My name's Jenny, do you want me to give you a name?" The skeleton nodded vigorously, he wanted to have an identity, not just be known as "The skeleton" to other people. Wait, how does he know what an identity is? Eh whatever.
"I'll think of one while we're walking to the tome. Don't worry it'll be a good one." The skeleton tried to find out why the thing called "Jenny" had changed from being scared to happy, but he couldn't find anything. What he didn't know was that Jenny was excited that she found a skeleton that 1. Didn't want to hurt her (anymore) 2. A skeleton that could understand the common tongue and 3. She could finally get out of this godforsaken Dungeon.
Little did she know that The skeleton didn't know how to get out either.
The duo had finally reached a corridor with a small torch hung on the left side. The thing put her hand in the torch and had something made out of the same material of his broken sword that he was holding. Jenny started feeling the walls with her hand until she felt an indent, and then she put the key into the hole and twisted it anti-clockwise. Then an a few audible clicks were heard from inside the walls, and a section of the wall sunk underground. Jenny walked in and then made a hand motion for the Skeleton to follow her, so that's what he did.
The skeleton found a stone slab that had some writing on it. He went closer and Jenny read it out slowly for him.
"Tome of knowledge, infuse mana to activate. That means that you have to put your mana into the stone slab. Do you know how to do that?" The skeleton shook his head.
"Do you know what mana is?" He shook his head again. "I guess I'll do it for you." Jenny slowly began to infuse mana into the slab, and the skeleton saw a either of blue light coming out of Jenny's hand and into the stone slab. Then the writing on the slab disappeared.
[Tome of knowledge consumed. INT +2]
[By consuming the tome of knowledge, you have gained the skill
The skeleton jumped with joy when he had received the blue boxes in his view. He motioned for Jenny to do it again, but she shook her head.
"You can only use this once. I didn't get anything because I already used mine with....." Jenny's voice trailed off. She stopped and looked down on the ground for a while, until she recieved a nudge from the skeleton.
"I'm okay, let's just get out of here. I don't like this place." Both Skeleton and Human left the secret room which then automatically closed, and Jenny left the key in the torch for any other daring adventurer to encounter.
"I thought of a name for you by the way." The skeleton perked up and listened closely.
"How does Mennok sound?"
"Mennok sound very nice" thought the skeleton. He jumped up and down and nodded his head vigorously.
[Jenny Whistlewood has given you the name "Mennok". Do you accept the name? Yes/No]
The skeleton immediately touched the yes button, and quickly opened his status.

He now had a name, as well as a nice skill, which made Mennok very happy.
"Alright now that we're done, can you take me to the entrance?"
Mennok shrugged slowly.
"You don't know? You mean you've been lying to me the entire time? I wish I never gave you that name."
