Today we decided to do our own things. We did just almost die from an encounter in the dungeon, so we'll rest for a couple of days, doing out own things. I plan to go in the forest to raise my level and finish a quest I took.
The quest I took involves a stampede of monsters in the forest. A few days ago, when a group of adventurers were walking in the forest, they spotted an abnormally huge stampede of all kinds of monsters. Luckily, they didn't get spotted or trampled. The cause for the large group of monsters is currently unknown.
The guild wants us adventurers to find out as much as we can about the huge group. We're supposed to avoid it as much as possible though, to prevent adventurers from getting crushed to death. We can, kill monsters who stray from the group and sell them to the guild, though.
I only plan to observe and kill some strays to earn money. With the money I can look for better equipment, so even if I don't have the skill activated, I can fight more powerful enemies or monsters. In this quest I can also level up and increase my skills and abilities. As long as I don't encounter anything bad I should be okay.
I spent a couple of hours killing some monsters. The good thing is that these monsters give a lot of exp for some reason. Exp by the way is what we earn from killing monsters. It raises our level once we earn enough of it.
Here're my current stats:
Ryan |
22 years old |
Level 30 |
Strength: 50 |
Speed: 65 |
Intelligence: 56 |
Stamina: 75 |
These are the four main stats. There are rumors that other types of stats exist and can be opened if the system acknowledges you, but I haven't actually seen or heard of anyone being able to do that except legendary heroes or beasts.
I also got a lot of things such as monster hides. Hides can be used to make armor and things that use leather, like bags. Although bags aren't a necessity due to space magic and spatial rings, which surprisingly enough are buyable if you save enough, they are still bought by people who adore fashions and trends, or have no money to buy a spatial ring at all.
I also got some body parts like horns and sturdy bones. These can be used to make great gear. Maybe I'll take some items to a blacksmith later and ask them to make a sword for me.
I should head back now, I've already got-
*𝐁𝐎𝐎𝐎𝐎𝐌*
What. The. Hell. Was that.
*𝐑𝐀𝐀𝐀𝐀𝐀𝐀𝐀𝐀𝐀𝐀𝐀𝐀𝐀𝐀𝐀𝐀𝐀𝐀𝐀𝐀𝐑!*
Well. Time to run.
Skill proficiency increased:
Running| skill profile increased: 4 -> 5
That's useful, but why now...
I ran to the direction of the city when suddenly a big ball of fire shoots into the trees in front of me.
"You can't escape from me, human."
Alert:
Due to threat of impending danger from 𝐊𝐢𝐤𝐨, 𝐓𝐡𝐞 𝐂𝐡𝐚𝐨𝐬 𝐃𝐫𝐚𝐠𝐨𝐧, skill |Limit-Break| has activated.
Quick thoughts. First of all, if I wasn't running from danger, I'd think that name 'Kiko' for a literal CHAOS DRAGON is very funny. Sadly, that chaos dragon is chasing me right now. No time to laugh at it's name or it'll burn me into a crisp.
Second, what're the odds that a legendary beast, literally one of the few things in the world that can 𝐚𝐛𝐬𝐨𝐥𝐮𝐭𝐞𝐥𝐲 destroy me even when I have the skill on, would bump into me in a forest like this?
"Calm down, human."
Like hell I can calm down. You're a legendary beast. A beast that can destroy nations without breaking a sweat. Who in their right minds would calm down before you?
"Laws of nature, heed my call. 𝐅𝐨𝐫𝐜𝐞𝐟𝐢𝐞𝐥𝐝!"
'Kiko' activated a forcefield. A forcefield has two uses, it can defend from the outside, but trap anyone inside. The more powerful the caster, the more strength a forcefield can have. Now, if a legendary beast casts a forcefield, you know that absolutely nothing can break out from it or into it.
Well, if I have to die, I guess I'll have to give a fight.
"Can't you calm down for a second, human?"
"..."
Sure, let's think about what he's talking about. Would you calm down if someone shot a fireball ahead of you and trapped you in a forcefield? What more if said trapper happens to be a very, very, very, very, very strong dragon. Dragons are very strong in it's own. Have a couple of them and they can destroy nations, although some of them might die, there's no doubt about it.
Make it a legendary dragon? That's nuts. Nobody can beat one, not even a legendary hero. They'd have to band up together, and some might die from it as well.
"Human, I enjoy the praises and the fact that you think so highly of me, but you need to calm down."
Wait, wha-
"Yes, I can use telepathy and read minds."
Why not tell me sooner...
"Because you won't calm down, but at least now you are. Anyways, human, I'm not here to kill you."
"Ah, yes, I'll trust you on that because I know that you can easily destroy me any moment you want."
"Good point. Anyways, human, I am Kiko, the Chaos Dragon. I only wish to talk to you."
"Nice to know, but can we stop with the human name? Call me Ryan, o legendary dragon Kiko."
"Don't be so stiff around me, I'm a legendary dragon but it gets boring so please don't."
"..."
"Anyways, Ryan, right? Did you recently get a legendary skill?"
"Yes, why?"
"May I please know the name of the skill?"
"It's called |Limit-Break|."
"Ahh, yes. Just as I thought. We legendary beasts usually don't get told to intervene in things unless it's of this importance."
"Wait, so first of all, you started this huge group of monsters. Second, you knew where I was and suspected that I have a legendary skill because you sensed it?"
"Yes, that is correct. You are quite intelligent for a human. You will make a great master."
"Wait, a master?"
"Yes. Kiko the Chaos Dragon at your service."
