That hurt like hell.
The first thing I felt after waking up was my aching body. Last night, after the painful process, Kiko became my beast familiar. Immediately after that, I walked to the inn and fell asleep in my room. I didn't even bother to have dinner anymore, and just wanted to rest.
After waking up, I walked outside, then I checked Kiko's stats. I was expecting a lot, but hot damn.

Strength: 9373920 |
Speed: 9159263 |
Intelligence: 10927592 |
Stamina: 10946294 |
All logic I know from common sense is currently broken. I expected his stats to be around a few hundred thousand, but his stats are actually a few million. What more if he has a skill that doubles stats for a short period of time? He's invincible.
Although he's very powerful, I don't want to rely on him that much. Sure, he can help me and the party level up, but if we're talking about big or powerful monsters here, as much as possible, I don't want him to intervene that much unless necessary. Kiko says he has great control over his power, so it should be good.
Why don't I want him to handle everything? Well first of all, he said something about a fated day, so once that fated day comes, who knows what'll happen? What if he wasn't here with me? Next problem is the fact that I don't want us to stand out too much for now. Having a pet dragon is scary as it is, but having the 𝕝𝕖𝕘𝕖𝕟𝕕𝕒𝕣𝕪 dragon?
In short, we're gonna have a tough time.
"If that's your problem, I can transform myself."
"Well, that would be helpful. What 'transform' are we talking about here?"
"I can't really transform per se, but I can change my size."
He proceeded to shrink, down to the size of a baby dragon. This is going to be a very useful skill to avoid attention. Dragon tamers themselves are rare, but not unheard of, specially baby dragons. I've seen a baby dragon tamer once, he let me pet him as well.
Kiko turned into a baby dragon. He kept his aqua-like color (which I thought wasn't really a fitting color for a 𝐂𝐡𝐚𝐨𝐬 𝐃𝐫𝐚𝐠𝐨𝐧. I thought a dragon with his title should have a color closer to black.) with him as he shrunk. He's actually really cute.
"I also have a skill to hide my stats for the time being until you get strong enough with your friends."
"I see, that'll definitely useful."
"The only things that should be able to see through it are legendary class skills, or other beings that have around the same power as me."
Both of those are rare enough as is, so I doubt we'll run into any of them soon enough. After shrinking, I picked him up when suddenly...

Damn. Damn it all.
These titles are too good to be true. First of all, two times my original status boost? Seriously? That's seriously too great. I really can't specify more on the point of how damn great that is. Basically, I can fight monsters a lot more powerful than I usually could at my level. Hell, maybe I can solo some big monsters that our party usually has a hard time taking down.
Then I also got a passive. Passives are basically skills with effects that are always active. Although these passives aren't good, it's still a passive, which always helps. Also, information is always a must in adventuring. Having a passive that helps me soak up info is seriously good.
Sadly, this is a crisis. Although yes, I got great titles, I can't simply just unequip them. Once someone gets a title, he or she can only switch them with some other title, but not unequip the title. This sucks because I really don't want much attention on me for now. Having a baby dragon is enough attention as is, but as soon as people see my title, things will go nuts.
"If it's just your status and title, I can handle it for you."
"You really can?"
"Yes, I can. I've lived for seventy thousand years, of course I can. Now, get or buy something you won't take off when going outside."
"Easy enough. Just don't destroy it."
"If I'm going to enchant it to prevent appraisal from working on you, why would I destroy it?"
I gave him an oval shaped pendant from my pocket. It's blue in color, and has this gem-like luster on it.
"Ryan, where'd you get this?"
"They say my mother gave it to me before being orphaned off."
Bit of a backstory here. I'm actually an orphan. Nobody knows who's my parents or what happened to them, but they said I was left in a basket by the door of the orphanage with this on me. Ever since they told me that, I kept it on me on my body, anywhere where it won't get stolen usually does the trick. I was planning to get a gold string for it so I can just put it on my neck.
"Some mother you have there, Ryan."
"What do you mean?"
"This is a godstone, literally the rarest and strongest material in existence. You can only find this by asking for a God's tears. Just this amount of it is worth an immeasurable amount of money."
My mother was some woman. I really need to look for more information about her.
"I'm not selling it."
"You're an idiot if you did."
After enchanting, Kiko solidified mana. Mana is nature's energy, which we use to cast magic. We have these things called Mana reserves in each of us. Now, solidifying Mana is insanely hard, and the product is worth a lot of money. Kiko did it without breaking a sweat. It really shows how powerful he is and the experience he has in this world.
The product was a ring. At first glance, it'd look like any normal ring, after using appraisal though, I was shocked. The ring was enchanted with storage and appraisal blocking enchantments.
"Here you go, kid."
"Thanks."
I immediately wore the ring. It looks like any normal gold ring really. Inside the ring was the godstone.
"You're appraisal's really weak so I doubt you saw it, but, I enchanted the ring so that only you can use it. Can't lose a godstone after all."
Kiko real just hands out these precious things like it's nothing. He really needs to learn common sense for humans, or else we'll be in trouble.
"Now, we should really register you to the guild."
Onwards to the guild!
