Chapter 20 - Dragon Age Part 19 Lothering & People

Later that night-

.

Thrasher was in a room having finished his meeting with King Calian well enough. Basically wanted a report about what was going on. The King was getting restless after finally healing up. He wanted to return to the capital to take back control. In three months he would head that way no matter what.

Thrasher just shrugged. It was his death after all. Having received everything he wanted from the man, everything after was just icing. A royal writ that gave Thrasher control to recruit Templars and Mages. As well as "righting" the land against threats.

200 Nobs were assigned to guard the King as they moved about. The fort that was built in Ostagar was given to Thrasher as a base of Operations. Which he wholeheartedly put work into rebuilding. With Lothering not to far away, it became a worthwhile investment.

*Knock knock!* Before he could answer, Bethany came in with Marian and Leliana.

"What is it?"

"Are you the maker reborn?" Bethany asked outright. Marian and Leliana looked at her frustrated. She just giggled at them. "Hehe, better than what you wanted to do. Straight up ask is better."

"I can do Maker like things. But no, I am not the Maker reborn." Thrasher answered. He put down the scroll he was reading that he received over from the Circle. "If you want to know if I am here to save Thedas, the answer is yes. The World as a whole actually. But on my own terms. I might lose interest and just up and leave. Yah never know. Lots of stuff going on."

"How to keep you from losing interest?" Leliana asked.

"It is pretty hard for those like me to lose interest. I have no current plans on leaving." Thrasher shook his head as he raised his hand up. "Just be yourself. Do what you can and everything will be well. I have at least 6-7 years of work here. Might be more by the time things unfold."

"How does Elissa fit into this?" Marian asked. She knew some things already but wanted to hear if anything changed.

"She is a Pillar of this World. I am making her into something more. She might fail, she might not. The same as with you." Thrasher said looking her directly in the eye. "Your twin brother is one as well. More of one than you, but you are a Follower of mine. Therefore different by default now. Whether you live or die is also up to you."

"And me?" Bethany was waiting in anticipation.

"A variable. The same as Leliana here." Thrasher was not expecting to have this conversation just yet. "Both of you can possibly die based on some choices. The future is unwritten. Or not yet written. I could never remember which one."

"I want to be with you bastard. What do I have to do?" Bethany said.

"Be you. Have fun. Become strong, love life, or hate it." Thrasher shrugged. "I rather you at least like it. I know I do."

"Why did I have to fall for someone like you?" Bethany rubbed her temples in frustration. She wanted to a different answer. "As well as my sister to." Marian held her laughter in. She did not want to tell her she mimicked her mother really well right now. "So besides just sleeping around, what else are you doing?"

"Getting in really dangerous situations because I like the thrill of it. The constant war did that to me. Plus.. I really like it." Thrasher's eyes lit up a little. Leliana understood it more than anything. For she was a master of the spy "game" that involved people. "Look, I understand feelings can develop intensley from things. But I lost a lot of people. And I learn in time.."

"Stop right there. I do not want to here any crap like that." Marian said. "I am not going anywhere and neither is my sister apparently. And I am pretty sure there will be others along the way. Let us just have fun and deal with the problems when they arrive."

"Agreed." Bethany said. "So now that is out of the way, show us the plans for the future."

Thrasher waved his hands summoning a map. Kind of like the one from Dragon Age Inquisition. But this one you could walk through since it was made of magic. Fixture that could be edited as needed all over.

Slowly they started mapping out things as they understood them to be.

In the Witch tower in Thrasher's village, a room that only a few could enter. Tsunade, Guy, Icy, Stormy, and Gormlaith looked at the map changes. They could speak to Thrasher and company and would be able to hear everything and vice versa.

Plans to straightened out and claim more of the Koraci Wilds were under way. Gormlaith had done a good job setting the Chasind straight. As well as organizing a group at Highever. She was back to replenish forces that were ready and to do a sweep of the area while moving.

Even making contact with a powerful Witch of the Wilds that wanted to meet Thrasher. Yavana, Morrigan's older sister. Daughter to Flemeth as well. What she was up to was something to be sure.

That would have to wait till later, however. Currently, those learning ninja ways from Might Guy would go in and help settle the area further in. Lots of beasts were there for some reason. So the previous issue he took care of was still a bit of an interest.

"Hey, Warchief!" Tsunade called out first. With a little more magic a projection of Thrasher appeared. "Plan on showing up anytime soon back home?"

"Well do I need to?" He looked towards Icy who nodded. "What seems to be the problem?" The others used their own bit of magic to project themselves. Marian and Leliana had a little difficult but accomplished after a few minutes of focus.

"Well, a lot of civilians have arrived. Do we keep building as planned?"

"Yes. Same plan same rules. We have the forces to do so in that area." Thrasher frowned. What did they not understand from this already. But from the look of Darcy, it was another issue apparently. "No pussyfooting about, say directly what the issue is."

"Why not take everyone in? Even if they do not get along well with the rules in place." Tsunade had not really gone outside to check things really. Not really knowing of the dangers. Talk and reports are something but not everything. "A good way to build a city even more is with kindness."

"No. A hard no. I am not running a charity event type crap fest." Thrasher's gaze was hot. "They want in, they follow my rules. They want food, water, and safety they follow my rules. There will be no bending or changing of the mind on this." Tsunade wanted to protest. "You do not like it, leave. You would not be the first Companion I get rid of or the last. I run an Imperialist nation of sorts. No matter what stage it is in. From a hamlet to a collection of villages, the laws are almost all the same."

"Think of the long term benefits." Gormlaith added in.

"I have. They are not worth a damn." Thrasher shook his head. "I am older than all of you in the room multiplied by a thousandfold. I know what works best for "me" and how I want things. Your opinion will be taken into consideration, that is it. If it conflicts with my goals, then it is discarded."

"You have the means...."

"I have the means by putting my life on the line. So do you." Thrasher looked a screen over right quick before continuing. "I am sure there are enough quests and missions you can go and take care of for you to build a place how you want. How about we take care of that now? Of course, you go by yourself with no memory of things since coming here of course."

"That is lunacy." Darcy added in. "Even with her strength, she wouldn't last long against mages. Or demons for that matter. She would basically have nothing but her wits and strength. That is not enough against what is going on."

"I think I can handle.." Tsunade was protesting in anger. A bit of a hothead. But she was grabbed from behind. "..mmffp!"

"How about we let her do a few rescue operations?" Icy said. Darcy kept the blond ninja under control with extreme effort. "The medical here is doing fantastic. Just need more time for people to learn and focus."

"I am not sparing resources of my own for this. And everyone in the different places should have work to do already."

"She caught up and planned ahead a good bit already." Icy said. From Thrasher's look, he was going from understanding to annoyed. Which meant he was about done with this conversation really. "She wants to help instead of fight really. So take her with us when we go to the Deep Roads."

"Ha!" Tsunade flipped Darcy off. The good news, someone else caught her. The glare she received from Icy was enough to cool her off. "That is the place with the dwarves right?" She recieved a nod. "I think I can help them a lot. Maybe figure out why they think they will be sucked into the sky."

"It is because they are stupid." Marian added. A face in a frown from the few dwarves she came across already. They were an annoying bunch and liked to get grabby in Lothering. After the second time, she broke the next dwarves arms and castrated another. "I do not like dwarves."

"Good breeding stock for war." Thrasher said simply. "The men hooked to pumps produce a good bit of seed. Then with the high production rate of goblins... hmm.." Thinking about the miniature green tide he had from that one time gave him a maniac glee. "..good way to increase numbers quickly for labor. A good "Runtherd" could get to work on that."

A few in the room were unnerved by that. Bethany behind him had a disgusted look on her face.

"Quite a few castless in the Deep Roads. I do need to start making goblin-humans more. Don't need the males really. Useless things besides as riders. But the females produce more than the previous litter each time." Thrasher was doing the math in his head. Combined with the sturdy bodies of the dwarves should make a good mixture. "Hmm, the dwarven women have low birth rates. So better to use them for other avenues."

"You are not going to force them into this are you?" Leliana asked.

"Huh.. oh they will be given the option." Thrasher answered distracted. "Not the ones who attack me mind you. That will just be their fate. An offer in one hand and a punishment in another."

"I am having second thoughts about going to the Deep Roads now." Tsunade mumbled. She eyed Thrasher who moved to another part of the map not bothered. Marian moving with him. Observing how he mumbled about, he touched and upgraded parts of the map. Multitasking by separating his mind on separate things. "At least I am not the only one with concerns."

"Concerns are fine and dandy, just do not get in my way." Thrasher mumbled. "These mountains... what the hell is so important about them again?"

"Can you buy the info?" Bethany asked. Happy to get away from the previous conversation. 'Norad was not kidding when he said Thrasher was odd. A large lack of morality.'

"To expensive. Better to figure it out on my own or find someone to tell me." Thrasher checked at what was available and had nothing to send that way. He used a Medium Pull from his Inventory to help. "Let's see what we can get."
