Storage Caves were a quick stop. Inside was the Enchanter Leorah. The elf mage had seen better days. Cuts and scrapes all along her body with tattered robes. A little skin drawing Thrasher's attention. Beaten but still fighting, definitely good fighting stock and already past the Harrowing a long time ago.
"Heal her yah bastard." Revka said. Very impatiently as Icy just chuckled and moved about. Wynne was resting from healing a few mages they came across already. Checking each of them to prevent Thrasher from cutting them down. "She is clean!"
"Yah know, you should learn healing magic yourself stupid little git." Thrasher rolled his eyes at her. "Or carry more potions to help. Sorry excuse for a person I tell yah."
"Tch!" Revka sucked her teeth and scowled. She focused on Arcane deeper and that of Primal. Arcane was what almost every Mage studied a little. She was able to cast the spells with little energy and concentration. As for Primal, her command of Earth was brutal. But to cost heavy. 'Never had a knack for it. Requires to much concentration to.'
Icy spotted some more Spiders coming in. A bit of demonic energy around them making them stronger. The Spiders were something that happened during the time before Duncan came and pick up the Mage to make them a Grey Warden. Despite them passing the Harrowing. To much happened with Blood Mages doing things. Ones like Jowan.
*Ding!* Thrasher used a level one spell slot on her. Power with Ork weird boy energy it would heal her at a very powerful level. Just painfully of course.
"Ugggh!" Leorah groaned in pain. Her flesh kneaded back closed as well as her bones turning healthy. A green tint flashed in her eyes for a brief second. It retreated afterward. "Thank you. But who are you?" Her eyes traced Thrasher warily. Looking to Revka and Wynne was enough to give some relief. But Wynne's marks were new. 'Hopefully, he is not some weird new Templar Mage that is her to wipe us out.'
"Thrasher, a Free Marcher. And.. guess Warchief of.. I forgot the name. Ah well, must not be to important." Thrasher Dashed over towards Icy fighting the demon spiders. They increased in large numbers in an instant. "Coming through!"
"Take the left!" Icy moved to the right firing a torrent of ice shards. They were the size of spears. The very moment Thrasher was closer her spells amped up. Side effect of him as a Weird Boy. "Raaah!"
With an assault cry, a vacuum of air swirled in a cone from her mouth. She was trying new spells out since entering the Tower.
*Skewer!* Several spider demons were torn open. But more funneled through. They met Thrasher head on.
Thrasher grabbed the first spider and spun on his heels. The very grip crushing its body. A green energy poured out as he spun into a whirlwind from pure force. The other spiders that tried to go pass were touched by the energy and redirected themselves toward him.
"Come on you little pinchy babies, come get me!" Thrasher bellowed. It echoed in the cavern causing more spiders to rush towards him as he spun. "Waaaggghh!" Popping his Rage, the muscles bulged and prowess increased in ferocity.
*Bam!* A kick went out as he finished spinning. The spider he used was battered to death. The spider he just kick bulldozed through several others.
"Rah!" Thrasher smacked the ground sending a shockwave out. The wave sent the spiders into the countless others coming in. "Heheheehehheh!" Thrasher laughed in maniacal glee as he pulled on the winds of magic. Shaping it alongside Icy's next spell.
"Blizzard Fury!" Icy's eyes glowed a radiant green. A snowstorm formed and went out. Guided by Thrasher's power. he directed as well as fed more magic into it. Icy shaped the damage and inner workings. "All the way through!"
The Blizzard moved through all the way to the end freezing thousands of spiders that were coming. Shocking both Thrasher and Icy. It blocked a giant hole that leads deep into the earth. Much deeper than any were prepared for.
"Ha.. ha.." Icy was exhausted. She changed the spell at the end to freeze the different paths. Forming blocks of ice that would last were difficult. "Ha.. I..." Thrasher came am up and cast Restore Stamina on her. It was gentle compared to the others. Since well, she was one of his.
"Take it easy. It will be fine." Thrasher kept his senses out towards the ice. He could feel the spiders chipping away at it already. "A few months and they will be through it. Maybe 4 if the temperature increases. Something is attracting them or they are fleeing something down below."
"Why are you so excitied about this?" Revka said coming up. Leorah had already changed into newer robes and spoke with Wynne. A few others came down to help as well. Eadric a former city elf mage, Niall a human mage, and Sweeney an old human mage. "Also can you not throttle them."
"Hmm, action excites me. The same reason you are a battle type mage." Thrasher turned once Icy recovered enough. Moving towards the three new arrivals. "And no promises about them."
"Of course." Revka sighed tired already. The tower has not been fun since all this happened. In fact, it was not that much fun before. "Should have went to the Battle of Ostagar. Better then this mess."
Eadric, Niall, and Sweeney were pretty tired. Wynne checked them over more controlled this time. But something odd happened over Niall. Something very odd.
"Glad you are ok Enchanter Leorah." Eadric said. He was very concerned for the elf. Which made a little sense considering how elves are generally treated in the city and most circles. "Are these shemlin here to cause trouble?" The attitude towards humans was much to be desired.
*Crack!* Icy fist covered in ice smashed into his face. Crushing most of the bones and causing advance stages of frostbite.
"Uggh!" Eadric groaned in pain. Not to loud as part of his throat was frozen as well. If he was not a mage, he would have died instantly. "You..." He stopped talking when Revka gestured for him to shut up. "Uggh." Wynne and Sweeney saw to him.
"Should have killed him." Thrasher said simply. He turned to Niall. "You are not normal. The time in the Fade should have killed your body, how are you still alive?"
"I.. do not know." Niall backed away. His voice betrayed what he knew. Fear was to evident on his face. "Do not kill me!" He fired an outburst of magic. "I just want to live!"
*Wham!* Thrasher shielded Icy while the others were blasted away. Sliding across the cavern towards Wynne and Sweeney.
Health -31
"I did nothing wrong!" Niall yelled in a dual-tone. White spirit magic circled around him briefly. A spirit was inside him. The only one that came to mind was Endurance or maybe Valor. Those were the only two Thrasher knew could have been around the mage. "You won't take me!"
"Shit.. bet." Thrasher said simply. He entered rage with ease. From behind, Icy created an ice sword to test for her. A weird enchantment on it to work with one of his magic he knew already. "I will put this choppa through the proppa pacing."
"What the hell is a choppa?" Revka asked Icy as she stood up. Very aware, Thrasher only shielded her from the outburst. 'This guy holds the smallest of grudges. And he has magic out the whazoo. What the hell is gonna happen to the tower at this rate?'
"Any weapon he is swinging really." Icy had a small grin on her face. "He and a lot of his Clan is weird like that. Not a Free Marcher thing either. Or a Chasing thing." A white sheen covered Icy as she switched clothes. A thin blue metal that was light weight and would not interfere with her casting. While also serving as good armor. "usually he is wielding two axes or a greatsword. And a thick longsword I think."
"Sounds like he is overcompensating for something." Revka said spitefully.
"Nope. Can attest to that personally. He also uses some daggers. Oh, and a dark spawns jaw. Any things is basically a choppa as long as it can cut." Icy watched as Thrasher played with the mage. "I wonder if he will kill him?"
*Shine!* The spirit of Faith attached to Thrasher appeared over his shoulder. As he swung the ice sword, light would shine draining away from the mage. It was taking it away forcefully. It was the only way Thrasher was going to spare the mage.
*Ching!* Arcane sword met ice sword. The possessed mage was strong but not strong enough. The two clashed twice more before things changed.
"I won't go back!" Niall yelled in a dual-tone once more.Weakend he started to change from a spirit into a demon to survive. That was a mistake. "Kuff!" Thrasher stabbed him directly in the chest. Breaking the change.
"Bind!" The ice sword gained the same properties of the Soul Gems from Elder Scrolls. Mixed with the power of the stone in his chest, the prison was extremely powerful. "Hope it works."
System: Arcana Check 26 Pass
"It has worked." The Spirit of Faith said. Its form more solid around Thrasher. The gem was deposited into's Icy's hand. I dark blue with purple lines all around it. "It is a Spirit of Survival. It finds those who want to live no matter what. Which is a lot in here. The desperation almost made it change over to a demon."
System: Level up 1x, Spirit Binder X spell upgraded.
'Good to know that works the same. Then that means I can bring mages back from being Tranquil.' As Thrasher mused, the others felt his strength increase. The magic rush was both calming and scary. A total of three different colors. Green ork, purple, the stone, and gold from the light which also seemed to have affected his Spirit Magic. 'So much to do in this tower.'
"Ughh.. can you help me?" Niall gasped. With out the spirit sustaining him, his body was bad off. Mostly because his spirit spent so much time from it while he was in the Fade. Thrasher actually cast a healing spell at the 2nd level on him. As well as infecting him with spores. "Thank you."
"Uh huh." Thrasher moved over to Sweeney. "Still their old man?"
"Yes. I think so. I resisted the demons and that fool." Sweeney said. He was lucid. Despite his mental faculties failing in his upper age and causing the Templars and the like worries, he did well. "Have my kids come to visit? I miss them a lot. They always come around this time."
"What fool is he talking about?" Revka asked Thrasher. He passed a few papers over to her instead of answering. Revka read them closely face changing a multitude of shades. She said nothing and put the papers in her robes. 'An Enchanter of the Circle can not be the cause of this. Just can't be.'
Grabbing Sweeney, Thrasher started using his Spirit magic to help the man. Removing the dementia that was setting in. It cost a 5th level spell slot to do so, but it was quick. Sweeney mumbled lowly for Thrasher to hear everything. Telling him a lot about the going ons of the place.
A lot of mages ignored him with his behavior. Which he used to his advantage. One thing he told Thrasher about was a certain Enchanter that was using Blood Magic. The 1st Enchanter would not believed him if he reported it. Just would have gotten himself and others killed.
"Ok, need get to the other areas." Thrasher said to Icy and Wynne. The three made for the door with the others following suit. "Hmmm." A quick sense alerted him to something odd going on in the tower.
"What is all that magic coming out for and how? And why is it so odd?" Icy stumbled a little into Thrasher. More sensitive to higher tiers of magic than the others. But from the looks of Wynne, she felt it brush her as well. "Is this.. is this that Fade you talked about?"
"Yup. Somebody open a way into the Fade. It is about to get really fun." Thrasher grinned as they moved. His blood thrumming in his ears. "Demons, abominations and traitors oh my!"
Revka was not as thrilled about this. As well as the other Circle Mages. From what Icy just said, she was not any kind of Circle Mage. And they started thinking the same about Thrasher.
Eadric eyes shined with malice for a multitude of reasons. Almost slightly demonic in a way.
