The night has already begun and the hunt for the voracious demon has started as the moon hovers above the sky. From a normal sight, the city seemed very quiet to not allow any sort of danger to take place for anyone. Suddenly, Delphine was sprinting and hopping across many rooftops to prevent another gruesome death caused by the demon; Harry and Sid were on guard duty and gazed upon the many buildings of the city.
"I heard something move," Sid said.
"It's probably that woman. Let's go! She's headed for the cathedral!" Harry shouted. And so, they followed Delphine to the holy place and eventually climbed up to the rooftops to stand in her way.
She did not look behind her, and she didn't care who was behind her and who wasn't because she refused to back down. What mattered the most out of anything was to make sure that she defeats the unholy creature and lifts the curse inflicted upon the city. Delphine hopped across numerous rooftops to get inside the cathedral without being noticed. Once again, it was her only method of going somewhere at nighttime in this city because she had no other choice. Suddenly, she was stopped by Harry and Sid as they stood in front of her and pulled out their swords.
They knew that it was Delphine who wandered off into the night, and they realized that she would not leave without a fight.
"Back from that inn with your sword, I see. It appears you're not so quick after all," Harry said.
"Careful, Harry. This woman, she's very powerful... more powerful than us," Sid said.
"I will not back down so easily. Now, no more excuses... kind and gentle sister," Harry hissed. Then, he starts to walk slowly towards her with his sword pointed at her face and his mind is focused on his opponent.
Delphine looks up and sees him holding up his sword to either kill her or take her in to be tried for heresy and trespassing. She had no time for trial or jurisdiction because she had a duty to accomplish that a vast majority of people lost their lives for doing it. Then, she pulls out her greatsword and held it with both hands as Harry and Sid stare with so much shock in their eyes. They were standing there like ice and it seemed as if they took their last breath as they gazed upon her sword.
"This time you showed your true colors. Even your face looks different from this afternoon," Harry said. He wasn't as surprised as Sid was as he looked at the ebony knight, and he believed that he could still take her on.
Delphine walks even closer towards the two knights, and she did not think about anything else that could be ineffective.
"I'm sorry. But you're wasting my time. I won't hold back if you get in my way. If you think you can take me, show me what you got," Delphine said. Her black eyes and dark soul were proof enough of how powerful she can be against humans and demons.
Then Harry said to her, "It appears that they were right about you. You have the aura of a monster, ebony knight. Even though you're only a half-breed. My sincere apologies, but the law here says that anything unholy must be eliminated. Time to meet your end!"
Then, Harry and Sid run quickly towards Delphine with swords in their hands; they were more than prepared to defeat her, no matter the cost. Harry had the belief inside of him, that he could be the one who would cut down Delphine if nobody can do it. Then, Delphine held her sword to herself and kept her distance as the two knights were coming at her with everything. They were coming at her at the same speed and at the same time, yet she didn't move a single step. Then, Harry lifts up his sword to try and slice off her head, but the effect didn't work so easily on him.
Delphine uses her sword and parried the attack that was about to be used on her, and she remained still and focused. Then, Sid runs towards the black knight and tries to use the same attack as Harry, but even he was unlucky. Delphine parried Sid's attack and kicks him in the leg as he was about to perform another attack upon her. Then, she runs over to Harry and uses her greatsword to attack him as he was regaining his strength. Harry had more reflexes and techniques than Sid did, but he was struggling to keep his balance against Delphine.
"Take this!" Harry shouted. He uses his sword to cut Delphine somewhere on her legs, but she easily managed to dodge his blows.
She blocked the vast majority of those attacks with both her swords and gauntlets; she had ebony armor and an ebony weapon, which was five times stronger than Harry's steel sword. Then again, Sid runs quickly towards Delphine and points his sword at her chest while running. She easily manages to get lower and kicks Sid again on his legs, and she backflips away from both Harry and Sid. Delphine holds onto the handle of her greatsword as tightly as she could as she faced these two knights.
"Damn that sword! Can't we do something?!" Harry shouted.
"I know. Here goes. I'll have her head!" Sid shouted. He tries one more time to at least try to cut her somewhere where it seemed vulnerable, but he couldn't find a weak point.
Delphine easily blocked, deflected, and parried the blows that Sid used; she still managed to stand before them without a scar. She was not used to fighting humans because all she ever cared about was hunting down and killing as demons as she could. Harry watched as his partner still had the courage and strength to fight back against the ebony knight. He tried landing a few attacks that not even Harry had the nerve to do against a being who has demon blood inside their veins. Then, Delphine pulls back her sword and tries to pierce Sid in the stomach, but the knight held onto her blade with the palm of his right hand.
"Are you a courageous man or a coward? You're holding onto my blade, yet you'll lose your fingers if I pull back," Delphine said.
"You're not wanted here, servant of Hell!" Sid shouted.
"I may not be wanted, but I'm clearly needed," she said.
"We'll see about that! Harry, finish her!"
Then, Harry stood up and pointed his long sword at Delphine's back, and he wanted to make sure she either dies or gets paralyzed. And so, he runs as fast as he could with all of his strength and anger to deliver the finishing blow on the ebony knight. Delphine could see Harry without even having her eyes look at him; he was running and charging at her to run his sword through her gullet. Suddenly, the wind blew so hard that her black cloak managed to deflect the attack that was going to be inflicted upon her.
"Impossible! Did she block his sword with just her cloak?" Sid asked. Then, Delphine lifts up her right leg and kicks Harry in the chest, and she punches Sid in the stomach and face.
The kick was so powerful and mighty that it was impossible for Harry to stand up and take another swing at Delphine. The punches on Sid's body left huge bruises under the armor, and he was left with a huge scar on his right hand.
"What kind of knight is this?" Sid asked.
"I'll make you regret ever coming here, ebony knight!" Harry shouted. Instead of delivering the final attack on the two knights, Delphine hops backward away from them and onto the top of the building next to the one they were on.
Her foot rests onto the tip of the rooftop, and she didn't lose her balance like anyone else who might try it. The full moon was hovering above Delphine's head, and she held her greatsword with just one hand. Harry and Sid saw the ebony knight in all of her power and glory as the night continued on. Delphine didn't have any type of anger or rage against the two knights, but she knew her time was wasted here. Harry and Sid were sweating and having a pretty difficult time breathing as they realized they were no match for her.
"So... she truly is the one who walks in the night. A demon hunter, a true slayer of demons," Harry whispered. He looked down at his sword and started to see that so much of it was cracking and it was starting to fall apart.
Suddenly, they heard a loud roar coming from fifty yards away, and they all remained silent and motionless.
"What was that?" Sid asked.
"It was inside the cathedral!" Harry shouted.
