Chapter 4 - Status

Seeing her crash into the tree and fall down, both of the birds quickly flew over and tried to check whether their kid was still alive after that or not, obviously though, she was still breathing. Albeit fainting from the unexpected collision.

Both of the birds had to drag her back into the nest before any predator got to her while they weren't looking. They didn't raise a child only for it to be eaten from crashing into a tree!

[System forcing Host's consciousness to awaken.]

"huh....?"

[Awakening successful]

Upon hearing that voice again, she immediately stood up on her two feet and quickly looked around, but there was no one anywhere near her!

So, where was the voice coming from? She had heard it back when she had to fly too, although vague.

[Due to lack of knowledge on systems, The System will now send Host the basic information]

In an instant, words and concepts of systems had run through her brain! Just as she began sorting out the memories, the system's voice had rung out in her ears again.

[Now that Host has the basic knowledge of the system, does Host want to go through a tutorial.]

'Tutorial...? Hrm.. Yes!' If she had remembered correctly, a tutorial was kind of like an example of sorts. Even though she accidently accepted in her mind, instead of saying it out loud, the system had accepted it anyways.

[Starting tutorial. Please call for a 'status' with the intent to open the Host's status.]

'Status!'

__________

[Status]

Name: N/A (None)

Race: Hyacinth Macaw

Qi Level(Rank): Upper Low

Points: 0

Skills/Abilities: [Beginner's Flight(Lv1)], [Theory of Flight]

[System Store(Unlock Qi Rank: Low Mid)]

__________

She was reading through the status in absolute amusement, and she also had a few questions about it. Specifically her 'Race' and 'Qi Level' since they were some of the only ones that weren't zero or N/A. Her skills and abilities made enough sense though, so it wasn't something she really questioned too hard.

It was pretty understandable that she hadn't seen anything like a giant Macaw just walking around on the streets, so she ask the system instead of wondering about it on her own. 'System, what with the race and Qi Level?'

['Race' is what type of animal or creature the Host classified as. Whether it is a bird, dog, cat, they each have a specific classification or name that differentiates them. 'Qi Level' is a level or rank at which you can be labeled as, based on the amount of Qi you absorb into your body. Such as the crash you took. A normal creature without Qi would surely suffer many more injuries than fainting for a short amount of time.]

She had gotten the answer she wanted, but she also wondered if Hyacinth Macaws had light pink feathers, because her parent's both had red, yellow, and blue feathers. In fact, when she was flying, she hadn't seen many large birds with light pink feathers at all!

But then again, reincarnating as a bird in another world with a system is a lot more unbelievable than being a pink bird that shouldn't be pink.

Seeing as she had gotten the gist of what her [Status] was, the system allowed her to explore what else she could do. Honestly, there wasn't much since the [System Store] was locked, as her Qi Rank was too low at the moment. Well, she did get a brief explanation from the System.

Closing her [Status], it seemed her parents weren't around, and there was practically nothing else to do. However, unlike before, she could actually fly around freely!

Despite her only having the flight experience from one long, mostly gliding flight, she hopped onto the edge of the nest and gradually opened her wings and readied herself.

'Phew... I can do this....!'

Once her mind had calmed down, she jumped off and panicked slightly, but everything went smooth as she fully extended her feathers and moved higher and higher into the sky as they cuaght the wing under them.

It was that feeling again....! like she could go on and on until she reached the ends of earth! Although she fluttered her wings and tilted her tail every now and then to change her course so that the nest was always within her sights.

It would've been bad if she got carried away and couldn't find her way back home...! Hehe....

About an hour after constantly flying, her wings got somewhat tired and she spotted a really nicely shaded branch close by to take a break on. Just as she she got closer and perched onto the branch, out of no where, a sharp hit the side of her wing!

Out of reflex, she quickly jumped and moved a little farther to the end of the branch automatically, before seeing what had actually caused that sting.

Glancing to the side of her, a tiny lime green bird that was puffing up it's feathers and holding its wings out, to try and look intimidating.

Of course, every creature in the vicinity was at lest slight more powerful than normal, some more than other, so the bird would be intimidating... If not for the fact that the angry bird was at least half the size of her, if not less!

While the tiny bird stepped closer and furiously squawked up a storm, she just watched on unimpressed.

Honestly, the little bird's peck hurt, but it wasn't something she would get killed by, and the squawking was starting to irritate her more and more, while she just wanted to rest before flying again.

So, she just copied what the little birdy was doing, and puffed up her feathers and opened her wingspan fully, which added at least a few inches to her height. Although it actually wasn't much of a difference, to the tiny bird, it made her all the more daunting.

Combined with how her wings blocked off all the sunlight, and created a dark shadow that loomed over the entire bird, and area around it!

Just as the feisty little bird had stopped trying to intimidate her and attempted to make itself smaller, by tucking in its wings, she made her own squawks that sounded more like terrifying shrieks than a bird's chirp.
