The chase kept going on for hours on end, and the sun had also begun to fall, while she had a harder time keeping out of the grasps of the swarm chasing her!

'It's no use.... I can't... keep flying.....!'

Her momentum had slowed down, and was just at a feathers length away from the closest termite's pincers, and she had practically completely lost to her fatigue.

Despite having gotten a second chance at a happy and free life, she would lose that chance to a bunch of termites.... how pathetic.....!

Despite that, there was virtually nothing she could do about it.

After that train of thought had come to a close, her light pink wings had almost completely froze, letting the swarm of bugs overtake her. The termites had enveloped her, with her at the center.

Of course, the termite bites under her feathers stung and then felt like they were on fire right after, yet she just had to put up with it, and continue her downward fall.

Despite already giving up on fighting back, she just felt too bothered that a termite was crawling on her beak and trying to bite it, so, just for a moment, her beak quickly opened and then instantly closed with all her force as the little termite stepped between her bottom and top edges of her beak.

Almost immediately after the sharp edges of the beak had cleanly shattered the termites exoskeleton, and cut it in half, the system's voice rung out in her mind.

[Host has moved up to 'Qi Rank: Low Mid'. Unlocking System Store.]

[Beginner's Flight(Lv1) --> Beginner's Flight(Lv2)]

[Combining Skills: [Theory of Flight] and [Beginner's Flight] --> [Beginner's Flight(Lv3)]

She had clearly heard the system's voice and just seconds after, although her eyes were closed, she had undoubtedly felt like her entire body was enveloped in a soft wind, that shrouded her in a warm aura.

The burning feeling from the termite bites had also ceased. Only then did she nervously open one of her eyes, just to take a peek at was going on around her.

Instantaneously, her eyes had widened in both surprise and awe.

She was still falling, however beautiful transparent gales of wind colored in sea foam green and faded into white and then light pink had incapsulated her! Somehow, the termites were still surrounding and following her as she fell, yet they couldn't pass through the exquisitely colored shield!

She had also only noticed at that moment that all the exhaustion that she had, had suddenly completely vanished!

Everything was happening so quickly that she was in a daze trying to process everything that was happening.

Thankfully, she had recovered from her puzzled state quickly, and her confidence in defeating the swarm of termites had continuously increased, and she could actually see herself surviving!

Turning over from her original position, she had quickly extended her wings to their full length that stopped her from continuing to plummet downward. And promptly after she had stabilized her balance in the air, the soft swirling flurries of air had dispersed and dissipated as if it were never there.

Even though the protective gusts of wind were gone and the buzzing termites flew forth, however, she didn't mind, and threw herself into the swarm!

Despite how ridiculous her actions were, considering that she was going to die to that very same swarm of termites just a while ago, diving into the horde of termites once again was a death wish!!

She too would've considered making a break for it, however, after and even before the fluttering wind had dispersed, it was like her entire body was surging with energy! Even the injuries and bites she had gotten had been completely healed!

Just as she had dove into the horde of termites, the edges of her beak could easily shatter the exoskeletons of the termites without fail. What's more, although the bites still hurt, it wasn't as unbearable as before! She could no longer feel the burning sensation that followed shortly after being bitten.

After discovering this fact, she had begun to use her talons and claws to stab and crush the termites.

On a large branch somewhere, a large pink colored bird was laying on it's stomach with it's wings dangling off of the branch, and gasping for air like it had just run a marathon.

Yes.

She had finally took down the entire swarm of termites, after hours on end and taking at least a thousand bites.

It definitely wasn't easy in the slightest, and even after the surge of power she felt, it was just too taxing on her to keep herself flying and fight at the same time!

Somehow, though, she had managed to crush every last termite that chased after her. The mounds of scattered dead termites on the ground below her had spanned for a large area.

[Mission: Annihilate small scale swarm of 'Combatant Yiqun Termite' completed]

[Rewards: +30 Points]

She was wheezing on the branch out of breathe but she could just barely read the faintly see-through blue panel.

"I got thirty points... finally... but i'm too tired to even see what I can buy with them.....!"

In moments afterwards she had completely blacked out snoring on the branch with only the moon illuminating the entire forest.

Chirp- ChirpChirp-

'Eh....?'

Finally waking up, her eyes were hit by rays of sunlight, and she had stood back up immediately from the sleeping position that she had blacked out in.

Looking ahead of her, were a small little crowd of tiny birds with dull colors, such as dark brown and dull light brown feathers.

The tiny little birds' eyes were full of curiosity as well as they hopped around closer to her and quickly jumped back if she had even blinked or moved slightly.

Really, those tiny birds weren't even as tall as one of her feathers! If anything, they were smaller than any other creature she had come across except the bugs she would eat!

With her mind still really groggy from sleeping a full eleven hours and just barely waking up, she had failed to realize how odd it was that the birds in front of her were incredibly small and colored in incredibly dull colors.

At the center of the forest, the trees were massive, and almost everything was brightly colored and colors like beige and tan were very rare to come across. The same went for the birds and animals that inhabited it.

She had seen hundreds of crazily colored creatures. Some birds even had neon feathers that glowed and glistened in the dark! From shimmering gold to translucent violet eyes, those could be considered normal! Having black or brown colors had actually made things stand out more in some cases!
