Chapter 5 - The Market

It seems I am a pet or something simmilar for now. If so, I already know that this couldn't go on for long but I want to stick around for now as I still didn't know much about this world. Also, being a pet has many benefits such as shelter, a stable food and water source and a ton of free information gets thrown your way, since most people don't pay attention to what they talk about with their pets because nobody expects pets to actually understand.

I might in fact not a pet but a gift or possibly a trophy. Regardless of wether I was a pet, a gift or a trophy, I was still in that cage, with the only difference being that it now followed somebody else through town.

Still I now understood the majority of what the people on the streets said.Although they seemed to try their best not to talk about me, not all could completely supress their curiousity. Those who couldn't, asked things like "Did he capture it himself?" or "Is that realy a dragon?".

Sometimes I heard salesmen yeling things like "Fresh fish, only 1 silver coin!", "Only 20 gold coins for a... bucket of CRAM." or "The finest swords on the continent!". Pretty normal stuff. From time to time a word that I didn't understand appeared in the sea of words but that wasn't much of a problem, since I, a dragon, wasn't going to buy anything of the market anytime soon anyways.

It seemed like my buyer knew what he was looking for, since he ignore every single shop before comming to a stop in front of one specific one, which he probably had to since it was not going in an orderly fashion anywhere on the market. From the outside I saw some accessories like rings, necklaces or some wooden sticks, probably made for people with long hair to pin up their hair and some small weapons like unnaturally white short knifes or equally white bows, possibly made from the same material. I don't know much about bows, but does a material for short knifes realy quallify as bow material?

Anyway, the man came back out with some kind of black metal collar similar to the shackles. He pocketed it after leaving the store but I got a feeling that he would try to put it on me in my sleep or something.

Afterwards, the man started heading out of the city as if he had finished his work there and headed out with me in tow. The guards at the edge of the city gave me a slightly terrified look. It felt like it took forever and I might have fallen alseep if not for the scarce appearances of unknown creatures.

There were creatures that looked like small humans but had green skin and also some that were larger and seemed stronger but my buyer swiftly decapitated them.

But the longer we were on our way the rarer the sightings became.

Since I didn't think that there was much to see on the following journey from now on and I felt tired, I went to sleep. The sun was setting as well so it would probably be a good time to do so.

I did not however forget about that wierd collar, so I created a barrier around the cage to prevent the deployment of this object.
