This time I was awoken by a icicle slamming into my side. The humans from yesterday must have told others about the incident. There seemed to be a group of 9 mages. When sending out a psi pulse I noticed 4 more hiding in the woods.
While talking they had glowing circles apeared in front of them for the duration if their blabbering. As they finish talking some icicles and specs of dirt were flying my way and to their surprise theese were effortlessly blocked by my barrier.
Seeing the barrier in action they started panicking and the other humans jumped towards me with swords. Before they could reach me however, I lifted the metals I had collected the day before. I released a powerful shockwave below me.
The shockwave pushed me upwards and all the people were blown over. I pulled my materials up with telekinesis and streched my wings the moment I started falling again, in order to glide away.
Once I decieded in a direction to go in, I accelerated with psi, breaking the sound barrier in the process. This time as well I cooled my body and some of the artifacts down. I did however leave the coins out as I wanted to melt them at some point later in time anyways.
During my flight I watched the ground beneath, which was largely covered in forestry. Only moments later however, the thick firrest turned into cliffs and then water. My best guess was that I was heading to another continent now.
Since even at this speed, and intercontinental travel would take long, I decided to do soemthing useful with my time. I reformed all the coins into a format that would be easier to store. Once I had molten the gold coins, I pushed the gold into the cubic form.
With most of the metals molten and packaged into 1 liter cubes I could finally properly estimate how much material I had. I had about 60 liters of gold, 12 liters of silver, 3 liters of tungsten and almost one liter of that unnaturally white metal I had seen in the city.
Once I was done with the reformating of my materials I got slightly bored and started looking around. After a short while I found an island. I immideately changed my direction towards it, afterall, I didn't have anything better to do realy.
It didn't take long for me to arrive on the island. The reason I changed direction was, that this island looked artificially made. I had seem my fill of terraformed islands, but never on a world with a civilization this low-tech. How did I know it was artificial? It was a perfect circle. Perfect circles tend to be artificially made. The island was also covered in grass until the very edge and the trees on the island all looked the very same.
I sent out a psi pulse to check if something interesting was going on in the ground and indeed there were subterrainian structures. They seemed to be made from mostly stone and wood. There seemed to be mechanisms installed to trigger traps like arrow shooters, flamethrowers and even boulders.
Whoever built this must have put in considerable effort, so I didn't just want to break through the celing, I instead started looking for an entrance to the mysterious structure. Two triging hours of seach later I had finally found it, a massive metal door with patterns over it.
The wall it was embedded in were covered in letters of a language I didn't understand. I tried pushing and pulling the door with telekinesis, but it seemed resistant to that, which in for itself was impressive enough but not only was it resistant to my telekinesis, it also had a melting point outside of my effect range. The door had to weigh at least 2 tons and must have had a melting temperature above 4000 Kelvin.
Whoever had built this, realy wanted it to last for eternity.
