As I closed in on the cave entrance, I used telekinesis to create a shockwave acting like an air pillow to slow me down. A flap with my wings to negate the rest of the speed and gracefully land on the ground. Although it was aided by telekinesis, I was still slightly proud of my first landing.
Only a short moment after landing I heard screams echoing towards me from inside the cave. There was a goup of 3 humans inside. One was dressed in cloth and had a wooden stick as a weapon, although I don't know if that counts as a weapon, the other two wore leather armor and had swords in their hands. The group was standing in front of the red dragon and they were visibly terrified.
Guy with wooden stick: *whispering* "We realy shouldn't have come here."
Guy with sword(1): *whispering* "It's too late to run now I think."
Guy with sword(2): "We are terribly sorry for indruding. We had thought this cave was empty, great dragon."
Dragon: "Oh, and you expect me to believe, that you imbecile worms, just so happened to find this place?"
Now, that was just unfair, he could talk but I couldn't? I realy need the ability to talk, it would greatly help with communication. Regardless of the scene playing before my eyes howerver, I couldn't help but notice, the pile of metals in the background of the scene.
It seems to be mostly gold but some other metals seem to also be in there. It was not enough for my plans, but it was a start nontheless and it might still be enough to make a collector drone, which would allow me to automate most of the process, so long as I had decided upon a place for the assembly processes to take place, that is.
As much as I would enjoy, seeing how this would play out, I was afraid I already knew the answer. I honestly don't realy care about the humans dieing but i also wanted to know how strong that dragon was compared to me. I also needed the metals, so why not go in now and also save some lives by simple going there a minute early. There seem to be no other psions besides me in this world anyways, so that dragon couldn't be that strong anyways.
As I started walking into the cave, the dragon turned to me instead of the humans. However, he didn't attack yet and seemed more surprised at my appeareance than angered.
Although the dragon is dangerous, if the reactions of the humans are anything to go by, I do not think that anything in this world could penetrate my barrier. Still perplexed by my sudden appeareance he started talking to me.
Dragon: "Who do you think you are to enter here, without permission?"
It's not like I don't want to answer but the problem with the vocal cords is still present. It was however a fact, that my mission was more important than his self-esteem.
Dragon: "How can you be so self confident when having no mana at all?"
Mana? What is that supposed to be? Aside from that, I still cann't answer did that idiot not understand this yet?
Dragon: "Brilliant, a mindless dragon walzes in here and it's instincts fail to warn it about me. Hahaha."
Since i couldn't answer anyways, I started ignoring him and as a result that thing started shooting a stream of fire my way. I wasn't realy concerned about the fire, since I had my barrier but the humans surely thought I would be dead, or so it would seem, since their faces were filled with surprise in addition to the already present fear, when seeing me survive.
Dragon: "How, did you survive that?"
Didn't he say i was a mindless dragon? Why is he talking to me if he thinks I don't understand him anyways? Meanwhile the humans started slowly making their way to the cave's exit.
Dragon: "And you humans, don't think I have forgotten about you."
He swiped his tail along the ground near the exit, throwing the humans against the walls. Since he seemed rather busy with them, I take a closer look at the pile of metals. There is as expected mostly gold, some silver, a few rare ocasions of tungsten and even some metals I couldn't make out. Most of them were coins but some were curious devices and shapes.
Without any warning, the dragon claws at me. If i didn't have my little barrier I would prpbably not be still standing.
Dragon: "Wha-?"
I used telekinesis and slammed the dragon into the cave wall, to finally make it shut up but it didn't work as well as I had hoped.
Dragon: "How... Who do you think you are?"
He turned even more angry after I had slammed him into a wall. And since he clearly wouldn't shut up about me being oh-so-weak, I wanted to forcefully shut his mouth with telekinesis so he would finally quiet down but didn't because I thought of a more radical aproach on this worlds ignorance.
Dragon: "Die you weakling!"
Now THIS was a display of true audacity. To think that this animal thought it had any control over the situation. I at this point in time, was convinced, that the world would be better off without that specific dragon. I let my anger at the betrayal resurface and the space around me started bending while the dragon had to helplessly watch his flesh getting torn apart by an invisible force. His eyes only screamed "NANI?" while the poor creature was slowly reduced to nothing but minced meat.
A moment later I realized, I might possibly have overdone it a little bit. I almost pity that poor thing now, it must have been a painful death to experience. I should try to be more calm in the face of ignorance.
The humans were still watching the scenery even more terrified than before, now by a small dragon instead of a large one.
I had to take the metals with me to a place high up, a high mointain would work well. Unfortunately I couldn't see any mountains in the area while flying earlier, so I had to look elsewhere.
But how was I going to transport the metals with me? telekinesis is the answer I suppose. Guess I'll just be traveling with a ton of baggage now.
When I turned towards the exit, the humans started running and I just couldn't be bothered to follow them. Why would I? What could they possibly do to make my life harder? I went to sleep near the entrance of the cave and cleared my mind to fall asleep.
