In the middle of the night I was awoken by a temporal disturbance. The real problem with that was, that this civilization didn't have the technology to create such disturbances, which would mean that there was a being powerful enough to influence the temporal construct, such as myself. Although the temporal modifications are not nearly as complex as the ones I could conduct, they felt as if the time wouldn't rebell like it would against me.
When manipulating time the actual magnitude doesn't matter as much as the synchronicity. But no matter how much damage the compliance of time would prevent, I couldn't let this go on any more. From what I could tell it was a relatively weak acceleration field in over only a small space. The acceleration factor felt like it was less than 5 and I just needed to accelerate the rest of the world to compensate for the effect and keep the pace with the smaller field. To me it felt no different except that the disturbance subsided. As a result i also returned time to normal proportions.
It didn't feel like, whatever it was that caused the disturbance, knew what it was doing nor did it feel like it was aided by any technology. Just what kind of creature can manipulate time without any technological help? That thought had scared me. I needed more power.
I began making a small shopping list with things like gold, silver, tungsten, titanium and a few synthesized materials on it, in response to the disturbance. I also need a lot of space for what I was planning.
I have to make a psi amplifier, a device that was but a mere concept where I came from and I had to find a way to build it in this primitive world. It might seem like a unnecessary at first, since I could already cause massive damage on a global scale if not completely annihilate it but if there truly was a being that could manipulate time without outside help, I had to prepare for the worst.
I also had to build a chroniton flow stabilizer. This device was however not just a concept but a long tested device that had proven to make temporal modification nigh impossible. Funnily enough it drew it's own power from a stable temporal paradoxon.
I will also have to resynchronize the timeframes, once i find the source of this disturbance or let the chroniton flow stabilizer do that on its own.
After calming down I looked around me and saw thant the shock of the disturbance, had caused me to unconsciously activate some power, so when I woke up the top of the cage was gone and the bars as well as the shackles were molten off, the area around the cage was burnt. It was a similar scene to when I first arrived in this world although much smaller and hopefully not as loud.
After we had left the city, I had from time to time heard passerbys talk about dragons and the treasures they kept. If any of that was true at all, I could get some of the materials on my list while also learning more about the worlds fauna. That would help me build the countermeasures as well as it would help me to reevaluate the chance of a being, with the power to manipulate time, existing in this world.
I still had to find a place to construct my devices at. I should probably start making simpler technologies, like mapping drones or radars to make it easier to find such a place. A mountain would be a fine choice, unfortunately I haven't realy seen any around here.
After deciding on my future plans, I felt obliged to check on the buyer but he wasn't around anymore. I was sure he didn't lie down right next to the cage but where else could that guy have gone?
Actually, he might have tried to put the collar on me so he could have been pushed into the forest next to the path by my barrier. Should I go looking for him? He seemed to be handling himself fine previously, so it should be fine. Instead I must start gathering the materials as soon as possible or there might be more temporal disruptions. But where would I start?
Dragons hoard treasures, right? Maybe I should try to find one and look through their treasure. Although I doubt any of them has a stable paradoxon, Silver and gold are popular among primitive species, so I should be able to at least get some silver for the conduits when doing so.
Unfortunately it won't be easy to find anything in this world, since I don't have a map and my body makes it rather hard to ask someone for directions. Until I hear more information I will just follow the same road as the man did.
