Gab continues her life in the farm but her Aunt's unexpected visit always came to her mind.
On the other part, Ingrid got a call.
"Yes, Madam." She nods. "I'm on the process. Give me enough time. I'll call you once I'm done." She added as her droves the car swiftly.
Ingrid's desire to take her niece is as undying as her desire for wealth and fame.
She called someone and it seems like she's up to something.
"Hello?" "I need you to look something for me. Do it immediately and I need results by tomorrow morning, okay?" She says with a sense of urgency.
Early in the morning, she hurriedly went to his father's house.
"Knock…knock…knock…"
Lolo Ben wakes up as he heard someone knocking on the door. He immediately rush to the door and even before it was fully open, Ingrid greeted his father and invited herself in.
"Good morning father." She greeted with a smirk. "How was your night?" "Do you have a good sleep?" Ingrid spoke as she enters the house and seated herself into the couch.
"Well, let's get to the point. No more running into the bush." She explained with a tone voice.
Then she handed the papers to her father.
"What is this?" Lolo Ben confusingly asked as he opens the envelope.
"That's a document stating that this house including your land is a collateral to bank—a mortgage loan and will be forfeited three months from now if you can't pay it fully plus the interest." Ingrid narrates.
"Where did you get this?" Lolo Ben asked.
Ingrid smiled. "It doesn't matter where did I get those information what matters is that I'm here to give you a deal."
"What do you mean?" Lolo Ben asked.
"I will pay for your loan including the interest so you won't need to leave this house and the farm." Ingrid explain.
"And for what?" Lolo Ben continues to ask.
"In exchange, you will give me what I want." Ingrid smirked and continues to speak. "You will give me the full custody of Gab."
"What? Lolo Ben was shocked. "Why are you doing all these things Ingrid?" "This is not like you." "Yes. You could give her everything, buy her stuff, you could give her the kind of life I've failed to give you but we both know that life is more than that—we both know you couldn't give her the kind of love that I can give as a family because your heart is filled with hatred and pain."
"Love?" Ingrid smirk.
"Don't talk about love father. Don't talk as if you know what love is. Because if you do, I wouldn't be like this—full of hatred, full of pain, and full of anger. You made me the person I am today. Because you're selfish. You just care about my damn sister even if she fails you a lot, you always have welcome her with open arms. You only cared for her. You only have eyes for her. But thanks to that, because that made me stronger and that help me reached my dreams—to be at the top." Ingrid added with a tone
Lolo Ben responded. "That's not true." "I love you both. You know that. If there's one thing that I regretted in the past, that's being a failure in providing you the kind of life you always wanted to have—for dragging you into a farm life. I was selfish enough to think that you will contented with a simple life here at the farm." He continues to explain while crying and feeling so sorry.
"Enough with the drama." Ingrid wipes her tears. "I didn't come here to talk about the past." "So, what's your decision father?" She asked.
The unexpected confrontation has left Lolo Ben with no words to say. He was surprised to hear her daughter's pain.
"Okay." Ingrid speaks. "I'll give you enough time to decide. I don't want you to think that I'm bad enough. I'll be back the day after tomorrow. That's the last filial duty I can give you as my father. Hope that by then, you can give me the answer that I want. I'm not patient enough in waiting. I'll see you then. Goodbye father."
Days passed by and Lolo Ben is still torn between her granddaughter and the farm since it also provides livelihood for his neighbours over the years. He cannot let someone or something take it away from him since it is also the last memory he has with his late wife. He even made a promise to take good care of the farm as well as the people working for them. Either way, he won't give up Gab because he also made a promise to his loving daughter before it died. Then came the day he will give his decision. Whatever decision he will choose will surely be painful.
