There was no killing intent coming out from a crystal.
The skill 'Bribe' was also not utilized at all, but Vayve could hear the voice coming out from it. He focused deeply, then a plead 'Help me' reached his ears even more fluently. It was probably due to Vayve being so sensitive to a magic.
The MC Plot Armor passive was working!
It had awakened something too unnatural. Like why would the crystal have some of consciousness? Wasn't it kinda too scary? What if this consciousness somehow blended with Vayve's one when he is carelessly absorbing up the raw magic.
If he somehow became a different person due to that, then Vayve would be enraged for sure. The memories from the killing intent were like a movie he has been watching during his sleep, so it was fine.
There were some clues to Xosun Kingdom's strength and main techniques. Those warriors were very brave and bloodthristy, so 'a movie' was kinda fun to watch. Even though the knights belonged to Waleria Kingdom, Vayve enjoyed that movie as nothing could be done already.
Those were memories after all.
And it won't be wasted. Every piece of an information is important! Vayve stopped thinking about Xosun Kingdom, then focused on that voice. It was still whispering 'Help me' as if it was a programmed sentence.
This was the reason for Vayve to think that there is more to it.
'A crystals are distributed by a royal family... My only connection is Damian, but I am not close with him... It would be not wise to ask about it... The production of those... is not really known.'
The voice was programmed, but there were a lot emotions behind it.
Vayve felt a little sad listening to these whispers continuously, so he put that crystal aside, then began contemplating. His mother had never spoken about it, but Vayve decided to ask her about it. It was pretty late, but Miss Ranria was enjoying a starry sky with her husband.
"Oh, Vayve. What's wrong? Don't tell me you got kicked out of your own room by Yuna?"
"Pfff~~ That's no good. Don't go easy on women-"
Before Mr. Father could end his sentence, his wife pinched him hard, then a sweet smile greeted Vayve. He sat down next to them, then asked his mother about an unknown voice. It was surprising to hear such question, but then Andra stood up and left somewhere.
He was serious, so no one really stopped him.
"I haven't heard a voice coming out from the crystals... This is a strange phenomenon. Are you sure you haven't misheard?"
"No... Or maybe I really misheard!"
In order to not worry his mother, Vayve added the last sentence, then went after his father. He was in the kitchen, taking out some alcohol which was rare... As Andra poured a little for himself, he sat down and gulped it in a one go.
"Father..."
"Don't speak about it to anyone, Vayve."
Andra spoke seriously, then a little of his past has been shared with Vayve.
His father mentioned about a young mage who was in his division. He was very talented and his formations could be unfolded very fast. He could go with defense and attack magic formations in continuous pattern.
There was no flaw in his powers and his capability with magic was very high.
"He was always the one who could keep up using magic for the longest... If everyone could do it, then a knights wouldn't be so needed in our kingdom."
"Could he also... hear something from the crystal?"
"He heard a whispers to save someone. He told me about that and his friends from the magic circle. Everyone was young and newbie to the war just like him, but throughout the years, they all died. It was mostly said that they died due to them being naive or too vain... His death happened when he was in other division... And a royal family took him away from me."
"So..."
"I wasn't particularly thinking that this is exactly the reason back then. Only now, when you mentioned the same, I got reminded by it... Vayve... The crystals are fueling up mages in every field, they are useful for our kingdom..."
"..."
"This is... a necessary sacrifice just like on the battlefield."
Andra sighed, then gulped another shot. He was sad for a talented mage which was also like his good friend... Then, he reminded Vayve about sacrifices and left the kitchen to come back to his wife.
It was a necessary sacrifice...
There were a lot of bad guys even in the adventurer's guilds. Someone had sold the information about Markas' and so he died in a pitiful way... And now, there was someone being used in a royal family to create a crystals?
Vayve felt sad.
There were a lot of bastards, so nothing could be done. A one person can not really deal with all of those. Furthermore, Vayve had already stated what kind of MC he wants to be. A one that gets stronger for himself and his closed ones.
So there was not even a quest for him from his MC System.
There wasn't even a quest to investigate this case. It was not related to his MCs!
Vayve left the kitchen, then came back to his room.
Yuna was already done with her training and waited for him. It would be too rude to just go around his house without him... Then, as Vayve came back, Yuna's eyes could discern that he is a little sad.
She stood up from the bed, then asked softly as to what happened.
"I just learnt that there might be someone in a danger, but... we can't do anything about it... This person is not related to us and it's not our problem, but I just feel a little sad."
"Vayve, remember? All those people that were with us in Cerze's hideout? I wonder if they are okay... We have somehow survived this, but I wonder if others are strong enough to keep their mental healthly..."
"I don't know..."
"If we go on the adventure, then we should help as many as we can! I wanted to be a strong knight and help kingdom, but if not a kingdon, then those who deserve it!"
"..."
Vayve just looked at Yuna for a while, then both of them went to sleep. This was rather too sensitive topic and Yuna whose age was still only thirteen years old shouldn't be thinking too much about it.
But it was already good that she knew she can not save everyone.
She at least understood that.
"Adventurers... It's also no good to rely on the adventurers' guild too."
"I know! Because someone did that quest, Markas died... Maybe we should investigate who did it?"
"As a nobles, it's not really that wise... Adventurers are on their own, so they don't have to really listen to us."
"Mmm..."
"We should just focus on ourselves. Let's keep training here and then go back to an academy."
"Yes."
